THERE will be almost as many bonus hunters at Haydock as in London's Square Mile on Saturday as 125 punters will bid to land a share of the £269,871 Totescoop6 bonus fund by selecting the winner of the Blue Square Gold Cup Chase (3.35).
With 14 likely runners in the Blue Square Gold Cup and none set to go off at triple figure prices itis probable that the entire field will be covered, with some bonus seekers sure to be attracted to the larger potential payout should a relatively unpopular longshot come home in front.
Totepool spokesman George Primarolo said: "The Scoop6 bonus fund will almost certainly be won this weekend as the holders of last weekend’s 125 winning tickets look to add a share of £269,871 to the £1,681 they have already pocketed from the bet."
The bumper haul of scoop6 winners last week was caused by a slew of winning favourites and means that the win fund starts again from nothing this weekend.
Saturday's Scoop6 is comprised of three races from Ascot and three from Haydock, all shown live on Channel 4 Racing, including the Betfair Ascot Chase featuring Herecomesthetruth and Planet Of Sound. Scoop6 races: Leg 1 2.15 Ascot, Leg 2 2.30 Haydock, Leg 3 2.45 Ascot, Leg 4 3.00 Haydock, Leg 5 3.15 Ascot, Leg 6 3.35 Haydock (bonus race)

THE abandonment of Newcastle’s Totesport.com Eider Chase meeting means Saturday's Totescoop6 will take in races from Kempton and Chepstow. Last weekend’s Scoop6 was not won so a total of £73,349 rolls over in the win fund, while the bonus fund starts at £31,435, having been shared between 22 winners last Saturday. The first leg at Kempton - the 1.30 - is not on Channel 4 so punters are advised to get their bets on early, but the 2.25 and 3.30 from Chepstow races will be broadcast live. "The weather may have put paid to Newcastle’s hopes of holding the Eider Chase meeting but there is still plenty of top-class racing elsewhere and a single winner of this weekend’s Scoop6 could land a payout well into six figures," said Tote spokesman George Primarolo. The totescoop6 eluded punters on Saturday afternoon which means there is a rollover of £171,574 in the win pool whilst there is now £73,532 in the bonus fund.
A total of £280,664 was placed on the Scoop6 but punters couldn't get any further than the fifth leg - the Racing Post Chase - which was won by 11/1 shot Razor Royale. There were 36 units still going by the time the race came round and five of them will be cursing their luck as long-time leader Nacarat couldn't quite manage to hold off the challenge of the eventual winner.
'Testing conditions at both Kempton and Chepstow meant punters made heavy weather of the Scoop6 this weekend but there could be around £400,000 up for grabs next Saturday,' said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.
There were 663 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £84.60.

The totescoop6 was not won on Saturday afternoon which means a total of £272,745 rolls over to next weekend in the win pool whilst there is now £116,890 in the bonus fund.
A total of £289,058 was bet into the pools but there were only a total of three horses covered - Cloudy Lane, Air Force One and Gypsy George - by the time the fifth leg at Doncaster came round.
However, Wogan's victory in the Grimthorpe Chase knocked the remaining tickets out which means there could be around £600,000 up for grabs next weekend.
"Wogan may be sadly missed on the airwaves but Scoop6 punters will be wishing the equine version had been absent from the Grimthorpe Chase as his victory scuppered their chances of landing a big jackpot this afternoon," said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.
There were 273 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £211.70.

The totescoop6 was not on Saturday afternoon which means a total of £396,843 rolls over to next weekend in the win pool whilst there is now £170,075 in the bonus fund.
A total of £354,566 was bet into the pools this afternoon but the bet was not won despite several well-fancied horses winning in the majority of the legs.
However, Lifestyle's failure to land the DBS/EBF Mares' Standard Open NH Flat Race final at odds-on means there will be a bumper rollover next weekend.
"Quite how the Scoop6 was not won this weekend is a mystery with a host of well-backed favourites obliging at Sandown," said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.
"However, this means there will be a bumper rollover next weekend where punters will be playing for around £750,000 which should help drive away those post-Festival blues."
There were 3317 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £21.30.

The Cheltenham Festival may have gone the way of the bookies but one lucky punter will be celebrating long into next week after landing £534,520 on the totescoop6. A total of £393,364 was bet into the pool this weekend but only three tickets remained going into the final leg which was the sportingbet Supports Heros Winter Derby at Lingfield. The two punters that were on Soul City and Suits Me were out of luck though as Tranquil Tiger took the race by three-quarters of a length. The winner was a Betfair punter who staked just £128 on the bet and he or she now has the chance to win the £229,080 in the bonus fund next weekend. "It's not been the easiest week for punters but one made the Scoop6 look easy this weekend and they now have the chance to take their winnings to over £750,000 in the bonus race next Saturday," said totepool spokesman George Primarolo. There were 1144 winners of the place dividend, each of whom picks up £68.70. totescoop6 dividends - 20/03/10: Win: £534,520 Bonus: N/A Place: £68.70 totescoop6 rollovers - 20/03/10: Bonus: £229,080 totescoop6 leg breakdown - 20/03/10: After Leg 1: 47,526 After Leg 2: 8,211 After Leg 3: 211 After Leg 4: 10 After Leg 5: 3 After Leg 6: 1 Was it you?

From another site.
The Tote Scoop6 is like the National Lottery for the more discerning. Both offer punters potentially huge dividends for an extremely modest investment.
The differences are equally obvious - the National Lottery is strictly for mug punters only. Unfortunately for Lottery owners Camelot, they seem to be in short supply in this country now, as the public has turned up its nose at the Lotto.
By contrast, 100,000 players every week are investing in the Tote Scoop6, in the belief that they are in control of their destiny regarding the wager. To an extent, they are corect, and they certainly have far more control than is the case in the National Lottery.
Odds of more than 14 million to one govern the Lotto, whereas Tote Scoop6 punters can reduce their odds dramatically, by making their own decisions regarding the horses that they nominate to carry their cash.
Sorry to labour the point, but the Lottery is an example of everything that is wrong in today's society - a quick fix, characterless contest. It's almost distasteful to compare the moronic pursuit of the plastic balls to the Sport of Kings. When investing in the Tote Scoop6, punters know that months of endeavour have helped to produce each of the six races that make up the Tote Scoop card each week.
Just viewing a jockey, weighing less than 8st, trying to control half a ton of thoroughbred should be enough to convince you of the Scoop6's supremacy. After all, your cash is surely far better spent supporting an industry that employs hundreds of thousands of people, than on the corporate, tacky Lottery.
Anyone with even a fleeting interest in the sport will tell you how they were affected by the loss of Persian Punch in April, and how racing can produce extreme emotions, both good and bad for different reasons. I haven't seen a weekly or monthly magazine for 'Lotto' supporters, or television programmes that attempt to educate punters about which balls might come out in any particular sequence!
Scoop6 Tactics The Tote Scoop6, then, is for the more skilful client. They can select short-priced favourites, or opt for more speculative runners, if they're trying to win the swag for themselves, not wishing to share the dividend with anybody else.
Informed clients can insure against losing, if for example they have selected the first four winners, by laying horses on the internet.
The Tote placepot part of the wager also offers investors the chance to win plenty of cash without actually selecting a winner at all!
The potential rewards of Tote Scoop6 are considerable. First of all, the Place Fund is a useful consolation if you don't land the big win, but all your selections are placed. The average dividend pays £572, which is similar to the average placepot return. Of course the dividend can vary dramatically, but as most of the races feature competitive TV racing with good size fields, there is always the potential for a four-figure return.
As recently as Lincoln Handicap day on 4 March this year, the Place Fund returned a dividend of £6,336, on the back of some good competitive racing from Doncaster and Newbury. The other benefit of the Place consolation is that it can prolong your enjoyment of the TV racing if your win selections have gone down.
Should you win the Win Fund by picking all six winners, you'll be looking at an average payment to date of around £93,000. Again, the dividend will vary depending upon the size of the rollover pool and the number of winners. However, it's worth pointing out that the Win Fund return for Tote Scoop6 regularly beats the equivalent SP accumulator bet. What's more, if you're a single winner there's the chance of an absolutely monstrous win.
Ron Nicholson is the best example of this in recent times. Ron landed a huge win of £878,939 for a £4 bet in April this year. That beats most bookmakers' traditional limits on payouts.
On top of the Win Fund, there's always the chance of the Bonus the following week. The Bonus is difficult to win, so rollovers build up fast. The average Bonus return to date stands at just under £200,000, with the record payout being £853,245, landed by a syndicate at Newmarket in August 2003 - not a bad return on top of the Win and Place winnings the previous week!
85% of Scoop6 investments come via individual players, with syndicates making up the rest of the pool. Syndicates are available to anyone who wishes to team up with family, friends or work colleagues, who can pool their resources and enter permutations that give such clients a more realistic chance of scooping the pool.
Many Heads are Better Than One One tactic employed by syndicates is to select two runners in what appear to be the four hardest races to judge, and bank on just one horse in the other two events. The total stake for such a wager would be £32, via a 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 1 x 1 entry, which equals sixteen bets (at £2 per line).
Dropping back to basics, just ask yourself what is the realistic price of selecting the first ball that drops out of the 'Lotto' machine. The answer of course is 48/1, whilst (before form is analysed) the price of any horse to win a ten-runner event (as an example) is 9/1.
Cynics would suggest that 'Lotto' players have six chances (via the number of selections), which reduce those 48/1 odds. The realist in me suggests however, that the further you get into the 'competition', the harder it is to win.
After the fifth ball is known, for example, the realistic odds for a chosen number to emerge are 43/1. Compare that to the sixth and final leg of the Placepot, and you will quickly determine that the further you go in the Tote Scoop6, the easier it is to ensure that you do not lose on your original stake. That's a scenario that is impossible to organise within the lottery format.
Lottery players could argue that the 'bonus ball' enters the equation after the sixth ball is drawn, but Tote Scoop6 investors would react by suggesting that the 'place fund' is still running for them, if their first five selections had been successful.
Finally, I should endorse the cynic's view that good causes have seen only a small percentage of the National Lottery money, which was promised all those years ago, unlike the fat cats, who have been lapping up the cream for the last ten years.
By contrast, all the profits that emerge from the Tote Scoop6 go back into the horse racing industry, and I refer you back to the earlier paragraphs of this article if you wish to know why that can only be a good thing. In short, brainless balls are for losers - hail the Tote Scoop6!

PUNTERS can expect to be playing for around £250,000 on the Totescoop6 on Saturday as there is already a rollover of £64,678 in the win fund.
If further inspiration is needed, last weekend an unnamed Betfair client walked away with the bonus pot of £229,080 to add to his previous winnings of £534,520.
This Saturday, the action features the best of both codes with three races from the jump meetings at Carlisle and Haydock, plus another three on the all-weather card at Kempton.
"The Scoop6 pools are beginning to build up again after one lucky winner landed well over £750,000, and we expect there to be around £250,000 to play for this weekend," said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.

The totescoop6 was not won on Saturday which means a total of £147,453 rolls over in the win fund to next week whilst there is now £63,194 in the bonus pot.
A total of £236,500 was bet into the Scoop6 on Saturday and 33 tickets were still live going into the final leg - the 32red.com Handicap at Kempton - but Beauchamp Viceroy's victory at 20/1 ended any hopes of someone landing a big jackpot.
"The Scoop6 looked all set to be won going into the final leg but Beauchamp Viceroy's victory means that there could be around £400,000 up for grabs on Grand National day next weekend," said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.
There were 987 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £47.90.

THE John Smith's Grand National will form the final leg of Saturday's Scoop6, with around £350,000 available after the bet was not won last weekend.
There is a total of £147,453 in the win fund, while the bonus pot has risen to £63,194 and punters will have to find the winners of races at Chepstow and Lingfield as wellas the Aintree showpiece if they are to be in with a chance of landing a huge payout.
"Novice and seasoned punters alike will be trying to land a fortune on the Grand National this weekend and anyone having a crack at the Scoop6 could land a cool £350,000 if they pick the winner of the big race," said Totepool spokesman George Primarolo.

Tony McCoy's victory on Don't Push It in the John Smith's Grand National scuppered any hopes that the totescoop6 would be won on Saturday afternoon and the bet now rolls over to next weekend where there will be £196,728 in the win fund and £84,312 in the bonus pot.
Three tickets were left going into the Aintree showpiece and one of them came incredibly close to landing a huge jackpot in the shape of Black Apalachi but he had no answer to a power-packed McCoy finish.
'Punters up and down the country may be celebrating Tony McCoy's Grand National victory but there will be one Scoop6 player who will be wishing the champion jockey didn't weave his magic on this particular occasion,' said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.
A total of £140,784 was bet into the Scoop6 pools this afternoon and there were 1235 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £22.70.

THERE could be around £450,000 up for grabs in Saturday's Scoop6 after punters failed to land the bet last weekend despite the gamble on John Smith's Grand National winner Don't Push It.
A triple rollover means that before the pools reopen, the win fund already stands at £196,728, while there is also £84,312 in the bonus pot.
Players will have to win the winners of races at Ayr, Newbury, and Thirsk if they are to land a big payday.
The highlight is the Coral Scottish Grand National at Ayr which provides the final leg of the bet.
Totepool spokesman, George Primarolo, said: "This weekend's totescoop6 sees the best of action under both codes and a single winner could be looking at a payout of around £450.000."

The totescoop6 was not won on Saturday as no punter got beyond the third leg.
The result means there is a rollover of £264,508 in the win fund going forward to next weekend, while there is now £113,360 in the bonus pot.
Only 34 tickets survived the second race as Brunston's win at 40/1 in the Berry Bros & Rudd Magnum Spring Cup put paid to most hopes.
The bet eventually bit the dust after the fourth leg as Snow Bay's 12/1 success in the Constant Security Handicap knocked out the remaining three lines.
totepool spokesman George Primarolo said: "Punters understandably found the Scoop6 hard work this afternoon and with no winning favourites, the bet unsurprisingly rolls over to next weekend where the pools should easily break the £500,000 barrier."
A total of £193,658 was bet into the Scoop6 pools on Saturday and there were only nine winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up a whopping £4,303.50.
