The Royal Ascot Tipping Contest 2011
LINK TO THE RESULTS TABLE.
Old-Timer has asked me to launch this - hope you like the sound of it. Please read all the rules as they do differ from our earlier Cheltenham Challenge.
If you spot any mistakes or want something clarified, please post below or PM me.
Rules
1. You have a virtual starting bank of £1,000; i.e. £200 per day to stake for each of the five days of the festival.
2. For each of the five days, you make three selections as follows:
[/li][/ul]
i.e. ONE OF EACH TYPE.
To clarify, the lay bet is win only, not place.
3. Stakes will be much more flexible this time. You have £200 per day to be spread over three selections. Minimum/Maximum stakes for each category are as follows:
Win - Min £20 / Max £160
EW - Min £10ew (i.e. £20 in total) / Max £80ew (i.e. £160 in total)
Lay - Min £20 / Max £160
4. Rule 4 will NOT apply.
5. £200 in stake will be subtracted from the bank each day, whether or not you make any selections. Winning returns will be added back to the bank.
So do remember to use up your whole daily £200 allocation as that is what will be debited from the bank regardless of what you actually select.
6. All winning bets are settled at SP (including the lay bet).
E/W bets will be settled at 1/5 odds for non-handicaps and 1/4 the odds for all handicaps.
5-7 runners 1/2
8-15 runners 1/2/3
Handicaps 16+ runners 1/2/3/4
7. All selections must be posted on Classified Racing a minimum of 5 minutes before the scheduled race time.
8. When making selections please state Time, Horse, Racecard Number, Bet type (i.e. Win, EW, Lay) and amount. You don't need to state the meeting!
E.g.
2.30, Goldikova, 8, Win £100
3.05, Star Witness, 12, EW £10
2.30, Canford Cliffs, 1, Lay £80
9. Obviously, the winner is the person who has the biggest bank at the end of the Royal Ascot meeting.
10. If you miss a day, or a selection, or start late, you will be deemed to have lost your stake for the missed bets/days.
11. You may nominate a reserve in case of a non-runner. In the event of a n/r with no reserve nominated, the favourite will be used. This applies to win, e/w and lay). If joint favourites, the lowest race card number.
Time permitting, I will keep the scores at the end of each day's racing.

The Prize
The prize will be a "virtual" Royal Crown with your name engraved on the front, and the right to call yourself the "Classified Racing Royal Ascot Crown Winner 2011".
