Sole Power is one of 17 remaining in Friday's Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York where he will bid to regain a title he won four years ago as an unconsidered 100/1 chance. Sole Power: Set to line up at York. Since then Eddie Lynam's sprinter has gone on to emerge as one of the fastest horses in the world and, after wins at Newmarket and his second victory in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot, he has proved himself to be every bit as good as ever this season. Lynam has taken out champion sprinter-elect Slade Power from the race but left in his Queen Mary winner Anthem Alexander. She has the alternative option of sticking against her own age and sex in the Lowther Stakes. Take Cover looks set to return to York for David Griffiths having won a Listed race there earlier in the season and followed up in the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Moviesta, just behind Take Cover at Goodwood, is back again after being sent off nearly favourite for the race 12 months ago when he picked up an injury. David Barron's Pearl Secret will have his followers, especially if there is any cut in the ground, while Kevin Ryan holds like claims with the three-year-olds Hot Streak and Astaire. Henry Candy's Music Master is due to drop down to five furlongs for the first time in his career while Olly Stevens' Extortionist has been in great form of late and enters calculations. Borderlescott, winner in both 2008 and 2009, could try again at the age of 12, while South African speedster Shea Shea, second 12 months ago, is in the mix as is Alex Pantall's French raider Rangali. Cougar Mountain is Aidan O'Brien's sole possible representative and the list is completed by Monsieur Joe, Stepper Point, Steps and G Force.

Paul Hanagan insists he "won't be losing any sleep" even if Australia lines up against Mukhadram in the Juddmonte International at York next week. Paul Hanagan on Mukhadram after winning the Coral-Eclipse. The former champion jockey has already won the Coral-Eclipse this season on the William Haggas-trained Mukhadram and Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's jockey feels he has nothing to fear from the dual Derby winner. Aidan O'Brien's colt would be dropping down in trip and facing older horses for the first time if the Coolmore camp give him the go ahead for the Knavesmire Group One. Hanagan also has Oaks and King George winner Taghrooda to look forward to at York and he even delayed his comeback from injury to make sure he was fully fit for his favourite meeting of the year. "It's a big day for Mukhadram and he may be taking on Australia but I won't lose any sleep, this is what it's all about," Hanagan told Channel 4 Racing. "Obviously Taghrooda will be one of the main highlights of the week as well. "We'll have plenty of runners and I'll have family and friends at York as it's their local track and my favourite track still, there's nowhere better. "I don't think my confidence could be higher given the season I've had and the big races I've won. My confidence is sky high. "I thought I'd have been back quicker (from injury) to be honest but it could have been worse. "It wasn't really the fall (at Goodwood) that did the worst of the damage as I took a bit of a kicking from the horses behind. "I just had a slight hairline fracture in my left arm but I think it will be better giving it a few extra days. "It's going to be a big meeting and I love going to York." Hanagan returns to the saddle at Pontefract on Sunday with four booked rides.

Tom Hogan is looking forward to stable star Gordon Lord Byron returning to action in Friday's Sky Bet City Of York Stakes. Gordon Lord Byron: Returns to action in York feature The six-year-old won the race in 2012 and has since added the Prix de la Foret and Betfred Sprint Cup to his impressive list of victories. He has been sidelined since suffering an injury during the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot but is ready to go now, the trainer telling sportinglife.com: "He's been coming along grand and is in great fettle. I'm really plesaed with his physical condition and he's ready for a race. "I suppose he might be a little ring-rusty but this looks the ideal race for him to start back out in before he goes on to Haydock again. Seven furlongs at a flat track like York will suit him down to the ground." Gordon Lord Byron is among a bumper six-day entry of 46 for the Sky Bet City Of York Stakes, other nobable horses in the frame include Baccarat, Cable Bay, Penitent and Shifting Power.

Karen Kenny has suffered a "small subdural haemorrhage" after a fall on the Flat at Tramore on Saturday evening.
The 7lb claimer was knocked unconscious when she was unshipped from Our Pearl two furlongs from home in the opening mile-and-a-half maiden.
Kenny, whose mount led for most of the way but had just been passed, was airlifted to Cork University Hospital and underwent a brain scan.
Dr Adrian McGoldrick, senior medical officer for the Irish Turf Club, said: "Karen Kenny has suffered a small traumatic subdural haemorrhage and is currently being assessed.
"She was unconscious for about three minutes, but she was semi-conscious when she left. She was able to respond to us and she knew she was in Tramore.
"She is much more stable now than she was when leaving here. She will be observed overnight."
Our Pearl's fall was not the only one in the race as the favourite Columbanus came down in a separate incident, though rider Chris Hayes was able to walk away. =====================================
Nathan Alison is trying to make the most of his opportunity at the William Haggas stable and did himself no harm in the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Handicap at Newbury.
Riding Flippant (100-30), a filly who likes give in the ground, the Londoner needed to be at full strength to wear down Fire Fighting for a half-length success.
"We've had to be patient with her, waiting for the ground," said Alison.
"I've been with Mr Haggas a year and I can't thank him enough. I've got one more winner before I go down to 3lb. I do also need to thank Jim Boyle, as I was working for him since I was 15."
Vesnina left a weak recent run at Kempton well behind to win the Play Today's 2m Scoop6 EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
Richard Hannon's filly, who is of strong Cheveley Park Stud stock, went off at 8-1 in an event won last year by dual Guineas runner-up Lightning Thunder.
Vesnina was smartly away and always in control under Richard Hughes, finishing three-quarters of a length in front of Evening Rain, with the favourite Hundi half a length away in third.
"She ran terrible at Kempton - I got no feel off her and I wasn't sure if she was that good," said Hughes. "She flew the gate today and did that really well."
Serena Brotherton is the first name to note in the Betfred 'Racing's Biggest Supporter' Ladies Derby as she won it for the fourth time in the last seven years on Lil Rockerfeller (11-4). =======================================
Belardo could have a bright autumn ahead of him after taking the Denford Stud Stakes at Newbury in fine style.
Future Classic winners like Lammtarra and Rodrigo De Triano have won this Listed juvenile event - registered as the Washington Singer - and Roger Varian's 5-4 favourite beat his three rivals by an efficient three and three-quarter lengths.
A Yarmouth maiden winner, Andrea Atzeni's mount had been a respectable fourth to Ivawood in the July Stakes.
Varian's assistant, David Eustace, said: "He's a colt with a great attitude and loads of natural ability.
"He'd be better on better ground and I think we'll stay at seven furlongs. The trainer is in Deauville, so plans are up to him.
"I'd imagine he'd go for a Group race now, and if he were to win that then he could have a really big target in the autumn." ========================================
Red Cadeaux received as much attention as the winner after the old stager finished fourth behind Seismos on his comeback in the Betfred TV Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury.
It was a first victory in Britain for Seismos (11-1), who hit the target at Group One level in Germany last season before being snapped up and sent to Marco Botti's care by the Australian Thoroughbred Racing syndicate.
In the end, he mustered a powerful charge to get a neck ahead of Willing Foe at the post, but Ed Dunlop had seen enough from eight-year-old Red Cadeaux to confirm that a fourth tilt at the Emirates Melbourne Cup was firmly on the agenda.
Seismos finished sixth in the Henry II before a respectable fourth behind Terrubi and Brown Panther in the Prix Maurice de Nieuil at Longchamp.
Mario Baratti, Botti's assistant, said: "He's a strong horse, a fighter, and he needs them to go a good pace. He had good form in Germany and he's stayed well."
Given Seismos has obvious connections with Down Under, Baratti was asked about the Melbourne Cup.
He went on: "Marco isn't sure if he stays two miles. Maybe his best is a mile and five. We'll take him home and plan something."
Dunlop brought Gerald Mosse across to be back on Red Cadeaux after their second-placed Melbourne finish and the chestnut, who returned very sore from his last outing in Japan three months ago, had ever chance before tiring late on.
"He's a very hard horse to assess as he doesn't work very well at home any more, but I wanted to see him run well and he has done it again," the trainer said.
"He's still a legend. As long as Ronnie Arculli (owner) is happy, Australia's the plan and I would like to give him one more run before that. He's in the Irish Leger, the Grand Prix de Deauville, a Group One in Germany or he could go back to Australia early."
Winning jockey Martin Harley was given a four-day whip ban (August 30-September 2).
Botti and Harley just failed to complete a quick double when Foxtrot Romeo had to settle for second spot behind Accession in the Betfred Goals Galore Ladies Day Handicap.
The action centred on the middle of the track, where Accession (9-2) was asked to go on by James Doyle two furlongs from home.
Foxtrot Romeo put in a strong challenge but could not quite get to the Charlie Fellowes-trained winner, who scored by half a length. Pastoral Player came from the clouds to claim third place.
Fellowes said: "He's really blossomed the second half of this year. He's a very happy horse and I hope he can go on again. He's looking quite versatile." ========================================
Out Do gave trainer David O'Meara and jockey Danny Tudhope a third success in four years in the William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap at Ripon.
The field inevitably split into two groups but there appeared to be little to choose between them, with Clear Spring and Majestic Missile prominent on the far side and Spinatrix and Pipers Note among those up with the pace on the stands side.
As the field started to merge in the closing stages it was Out Do (7-1 favourite) who came through the pack to lead in the last 100 yards and gain the verdict by half a length in a first-time visor. Spinatrix took second place for the second year running.
Out Do was following O'Meara's Pepper Lane, winner in 2011 and 2012, on to the roll of honour for the prestigious six-furlong contest at the North Yorkshire track.
Tudhope said: "I got a bit lucky as we got stuck in a pocket. He travelled much better with the visor on. The visor has definitely made a difference. The plan was to be handy, but we missed the break a bit. It got very tight, but we got lucky."
O'Meara added: "Danny mentioned he might need headgear and he was right. At one point I thought he had a bit too much to do, but the gap opened up in time and he quickened up nice.
"I hoped he'd win a big one at one stage, but I thought he'd want the ground a bit quicker. With that in mind, it would be a concern aiming him for the Ayr Gold Cup, but there's a nice race at York later on and we might go back there."
Spinatrix's trainer Michael Dods said: "I thought we were drawn on the wrong side and so it proved. I think she just might have won with a low draw. She's run a great race again and it's been frustrating this year with all the fast ground.
"She's in the Listed race at Pontefract tomorrow. I'll have to see how she is as she's had a tough race there and the ground is only good. She'll go for the Ayr Gold Cup and I'll look for a race before then."
O'Meara was also on the mark in the attheraces.com Handicap Stakes with Bartack (5-1 co-favourite) and then with Fattsota at Newmarket in a golden half-hour spell.
The William Hill Silver Trophy, a consolation race for the feature, was also a tight finish but won in the end by David Barron's former Sir Michael Stoute inmate Duke Cosimo (13-2), who struck by two short heads from Red Refraction and Chooseday.
"Graham (Gibbbons) said he just sat on him but he should have let him roll on as when they quickened he was caught a bit flat-footed," said Barron. "We're all still learning about him, we haven't had him that long. He'll get the entry for Ayr and we'll just see where we end up."
Ann Duffield's newcomer Marsh Pride (20-1) foiled a big gamble in the RiponBet Place 6 Maiden Auction Stakes. Joseph Tuite's Fast Dancer was backed in the morning from 25-1 into 5-1 and for much of the race looked home and hosed, but PJ McDonald timed it right on the filly to win going away.
Duffield said: "She'll stay further. I've brought some nice fillies to Ripon down the years and I hope this is another."
She also won the Ripon Hornblower Conditions Stakes with Dark Reckoning (10-1), owned by Qatar Racing and ridden by Harry Bentley.
"On paper, she should only have finished third, but I knew she'd be better for a sixth furlong and appreciate a bit of give," said Duffield. "She'll get an entry in the Listed race here (Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy), but the race for her might be the Group Three at Ayr (Firth Of Clyde)." ========================================
Fergal Lynch was back in the winner's enclosure on UK soil for the first time in six years when he steered Go Far home at Doncaster.
The 36-year-old got a fine tune out of the 12-1 chance, trained by Alan Bailey, as he drove the four-year-old to victory by three-quarters of a length in the Betfred Exclusive Competitions Facebook And Twitter Handicap.
It was only last week that the British Horseracing Authority lifted the restrictions placed on Lynch, who admitted stopping Bond City from winning at Ripon in August 2004.
Absent from the British scene since August 2008, Lynch spent time riding in America and has been based in Ireland since being granted a licence by the Irish Turf Club in 2012.
The jockey had his first ride back in the UK at Ayr on Monday when fourth on Mr Bounty, owned by his father and trained by Michael O'Callaghan.
Lynch had been out of luck in three previous rides on Town Moor before Go Far proved to be a successful fourth and final mount on the card. ========================================
Breton Rock narrowly denied Gregorian back-to-back victories in a pulsating climax to the Betfred Hungerford Stakes at Newbury.
Gregorian was sent on his way the 13-8 favourite and stayed on stoutly once he gained a definite advantage a furlong and a half from home in the hands of William Buick, but he became embroiled in an absorbing tussle with Breton Rock.
David Simcock's 3-1 chance kept finding a little bit more when it mattered and seized the Group Two contest by a short head.
Successful jockey Martin Lane said: "The one thing he has is real heart, he really tries. He's got a really nice action, the softer the better for him."
Simcock added: "The race cut up quite nicely and he got his conditions, which was really important.
"He was better after we gelded him. He was always very colty. He's been very straightforward to deal with but I wouldn't risk him on anything other than the softer side of good."
The Newmarket handler continued: "There's a good programme for seven-furlong horses in the autumn, whereas there isn't in the summer.
"There was this, the Park Stakes (Doncaster) and then we'll probably have a crack at the Foret (Longchamp)." ============================================
Plans for Arab Spring are on hold as connections steadily bring the lightly-raced four-year-old back to full fitness following his disappointing effort at Newmarket.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt looked very much on the upgrade when completing a four-timer inside three months in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap at Royal Ascot.
However, things did not pan out for Arab Spring when stepped up to Group Two company in the Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting.
Sent off the evens favourite, he was only fourth of six behind Cavalryman in a race run in difficult weather conditions.
"I think he's fine, but there are no plans as of this moment. We'll just have to be a bit more patient," said Peter Reynolds, racing manager for owners Ballymacoll Stud.
"He's been off for a little while and he's just in light work at the moment."
Arab Spring's sole early-closing entry at present is the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 13, for which he is a 16-1 chance. ============================================
Olympic Glory bids to lower the colours of Kingman in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville today as he aims for a fourth success at the top level.
Winner of the Lockinge Stakes in the spring, Richard Hannon's charge has been kept for this race since finishing fourth to Cirrus Des Aigles in the Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp at the end of May.
"He's all set and ready to roll. Richard reports him to be in very good form. It's soft ground here and he handles that well. A straight mile is his thing, as we've seen," said Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Al Shaqab Racing.
"Kingman will be a mighty tough nut to crack. We shouldn't be frightened of one horse, but any sane person would be frightened of Kingman.
"The horse is in good shape and this has been his target for an awful long time. He very nearly won it last year when he was beaten a short head by Moonlight Cloud. Hopefully he'll run very well."
Coronation Stakes heroine Rizeena flies the flag for the three-year-old fillies on the back of a good second to Integral in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting.
"She handled soft ground in the Falmouth when she was second to Integral so that wouldn't be a worry," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum.
"However, we are taking on a champion. You should never be afraid of one horse is the saying, but he is the one! He is without doubt the best miler in Europe for me, but we'll give it a go.
"Her last run put to bed the talk that she doesn't act at Newmarket, and against the older fillies I thought she ran as well as we could have hoped.
"She looks great, even though she's been on the go all season, and I'm sure she'll run her race."

Ryan Moore has three booked rides at Deauville this Sunday. Here he gives us his exclusive thoughts on each of them...
13:30 - Svoul I won't know too much about him until I get to the track but they paid 300,000 euros for him at the Arqana Sales in May and he apparently made an impressive winning debut at La Teste last month, I see. Other than that, I am pretty much in the dark at the moment, sorry.
14:40 - Marsh Daisy Was impressive when winning a 1m2f listed race in the soft at Goodwood back in May, and I thought that she would go well in the Oaks on the back of that. But she ran no sort of race there - I don't know if it was the longer trip, the faster ground, the track or something else - but she is clearly a lot better than she showed at Epsom and that Goodwood win worked out ok. Has something to prove now and this looks a decent enough race, but I think she has place chances on ground she likes. 15:10 - Rizeena Disappointed in the Guineas but she returned to form when winning the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Admittedly, that was a muddling contest where she got the run of the race, but she ran to a similar, high-class level when chasing home Integral in testing conditions in the Falmouth last time. Acts on soft ground, and ran well here last year when third in the Morny. But obviously Kingman is going to take the world of beating and Olympic Glory is a high-class horse in his own right too, so I'd say that she has her work well and truly cut out here, Group 1 filly or not. But if it got bottomless that could be a real leveller.

14:45 Sunday 17th August Racing Tips - 17/08/2014
Alex Vino might well win easily today at Pontefract but I was keener at the prices on Craggaknock. However, that price has long gone and 7/2 is on the short side. With 8 lining up, I'm sweeter about the 16/1 for Rio's Rosanna who is yet to finish out of the top 3 here in 3 attempts. She won here on good to firm too so the drying conditions will be no bad thing. Only Orsenfoolsies will be dangerous if allowed an easy time of it up top but Asteroidea and Craggaknock may keep him company and that will be no bad thing for the selection who looks to want a test at this trip. The yard have hit form with 3 recent winners and George Chaloner is well worth his 3. Pontefract 14.45 - Rio's Rosanna 1pt e/w

Kevin was a crossbar away from landing two from two last Sunday and his attentions now turn to the all-weather at Dundalk as he bids to land that elusive big-price winner...
Looking Back
Jamesie is quickly becoming a favourite of this column and the auld devil delivered again for us in the Phoenix Sprint Stakes. Some will inevitably knock him for maybe not winning as often as a horse of his ability should, but he is one of those likeable horses that can really be relied on to run his race week in week out as long as things don't go badly against him. Perhaps due to the fact that he doesn't win that often, the market can occasionally forget about him and last Sunday was one of those cases. The recommendation was a place bet and he duly ran a stormer to finish a never-nearer second to Scream Blue Murder after Maarek proved disappointing.
My view that Maarek could be opposed as he was likely to need the run on his return from a break prompted some comment on the Betfair forum and elsewhere and I am happy to clarify my thinking. Some pointed out that the horse has won and run very well when fresh in the past and this is of course correct, but there was a notable change in the horse's circumstances last year when he was switched from David Nagle's yard to Barry Lawlor's yard halfway through the season. While his trainer changed again at the start of this season to Evanna McCutcheon, she trains out of Lalor's yard and little will have changed for the horse since the middle of last season.
If you examine the horse's form, all of his best runs when fresh were when he was trained by Nagle, whereas since switching to a new training regime in Lalor's yard, he had run well below form in his two starts after a break and thus, I felt it was reasonable to presume he would do so again on Sunday and that proved to be the case. I'm sure the horse will strip much fitter next time and should enjoy another lucrative autumn campaign.
The second bet of the day was on Gone Viral in the Kerry Businesswomen's Network Handicap and to say it was a frustrating result would be an understatement. My hope for this column from the outset was that I would point the readers in the direction of more than my share of big-priced winners, but it has been a case of crossbar after crossbar with my bigger-priced selections and Gone Viral was another to add to that category.
Rory Cleary had gone for home much, much too soon on the horse on his previous start at Killarney, so he was always likely to ride him with much more patience. However, this is unlikely to be a ride that Cleary or indeed most of the other riders in the race look will back on with any great fondness.
Cleary had some trouble finding cover from his high draw, which is just one of those things, but how he managed to get outmanoeuvred by Declan McDonogh on Beau Satchel to the extent that he did, resulting in him running short of room at a vital stage, was much more puzzling. It resulted in him having a lot of ground to make up and he duly sprinted home, but it was all too late as No Dominion had long flown under Chris Hayes.
I've said it many times before, but Chris Hayes is one of if not the most tactically creative riders in Ireland, as he is willing to go against the grain and try things that other riders won't in search of an edge. However, there was nothing too innovative about him coming to the stand side at the Curragh on soft ground as that side is usually favoured in such conditions, but what really puzzled was that the rest of riders decided to stay in the middle and give Hayes so much rope in front on the near side. A number of them eventually switched over to the near side well past halfway, but Hayes had gained his advantage at that stage and wasn't for catching.
All told, I feel it was a winner that got away and to makes things worse, as has been the case with more than a couple of my bigger-priced selections of late, he came out and bolted up on his next start at Gowran Park on Wednesday under a well-judged ride from Pat Smullen. Such is life and hopefully we'll get a better result at Dundalk today.
This Week's Plays
The weather in Ireland doesn't know whether it is coming or going at the moment and the result has been no shortage of tacky, sticky ground that is very difficult to assess from the formbook perspective. Thus, the return to Dundalk is a welcome one and there are a couple of interesting horses that can be supported.
Maidens wouldn't be the most common of betting mediums for me, especially when there are newcomers and very unexposed horses to contend with that are difficult to weigh up, but all bar one of the runners in the Bar One Racing Telebetting 1800 624 524 Maiden (16:45) have had at least two runs and I feel like I've seen enough of them to make a measured assessment of the race.
In a nutshell, it isn't the strongest of maidens. The likely favourite is the Ger Lyons-trained Mansuri and while he has been consistent, he looks somewhat tripless. The Jessica Harrington-trained Elusive Laurence is again likely to attract support as some remains reluctant to forget her eye-catching debut, but she looks quite limited at this stage. The other main contender is the Eddie Lynam-trained Walk Right Back and while he caught the eye at Bellewstown, he let his supporters down badly at Tipperary last time and this longer trip isn't sure to suit.
That leaves us with the Jane Foley-trained Chief Suspect. His debut run at Dundalk doesn't look all that flash on paper, but it was a big run considering he lost the better part of eight lengths at the start and was impeded as he began to make headway a furlong out. He showed the benefit of that experience when running in a seven furlong maiden at Galway last time and while much of the post-race discussion centred on the interference between the first two horses past the post, Chief Suspect didn't enjoy much luck himself back in fourth, not getting a clear run until inside the final furlong and doing well to rally up the steep incline when belatedly getting daylight.
The best has yet to be seen of Chief Suspect and with holes to be picked in his main opposition, he is the one to side with. Jane Foley doesn't have a lot of horses for the track, but what she has been running have been running very well and my view was that this horse should be much closer to being the favourite than he is.
The Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Handicap (17:15) is a typical Dundalk handicap that brings together hardened handicappers and a couple of still unexposed sorts. Of the former group, Victors Beach is very much respected back at his favourite track, but it is one from the latter group that makes the most appeal at the prices.
Pat Martin hasn't had Togoville all that long, but he has quickly found the key to him and the four-year-old produced an impressive performance when getting off the mark at Roscommon last month. A 10lb rise for that was justified and he can readily be forgiven his below-form effort at Galway last time, as the soft ground was very much against him. This surface promises to suit him well and while his wide draw is an obvious concern, there are more than a couple of front-runners in the race and the hope will be that the early pace will be the strong which will hopefully open a slot for Togoville just in behind the leaders. Granted he gets a reasonable early position, I suspect he'll run very well.
Recommended Bets
Back Chief Suspect 2pts to win @ 4.5 or better in the 16:45 at Dundalk Back Togoville 1pt to win @ 11.0 or better in the 17:15 at Dundalk

Charlie Appleby has found a reason for the performance of Hawkesbury in Saturday's Denford Stud Stakes at Newbury. The grey was found to be lame in his right foreleg, having finished nearly four lengths second behind the impressive Belardo in the race registered as the Washington Singer. The Doncaster winner appeared a little awkward, hanging in the closing stages and holding his head very high. Appleby told "A veterinary examination this morning found Hawkesbury to be lame, which would explain his high head carriage during the race. "I expect this to be a short-term setback and hope he can return to racing in the autumn." The Shamardal colt's most imminent engagements are the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and the Juddmonte Royal Lodge at Newmarket. ======================================= Flemenstar remains based with owner Stephen Curran as he continues on the steady road to recovery following a tendon injury. The talented nine-year-old gelding is expected to return to action in the coming season, but connections will not rush the Tony Martin-trained chaser back to the racecourse. "He's doing very well. He's walking the roads and doing slow work and it's all very good," said Curran. "The horse is here with us and he won't go back to Tony's until he's ready to run. We're not going to rush him. He'll run some time next season." The three-times Grade One winner was sent to Martin's stable last autumn, having previously been with Peter Casey, and made a winning reappearance in the Fortria Chase at Navan in early November. However, he was a late withdrawal from the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase in December, which he had won in 2012, after suffering a knock to a leg. =================================== Amralah has been given the green light to test his mettle at the highest level in the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 13. Mick Channon's four-year-old has taken his career to new heights in his last two races, winning a Newbury Listed race and the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock. Options elsewhere were being considered, but connections hope he will run another solid race in Ireland. "We're going to go to the Irish Champion with him," said Ted Voute, owner Prince Faisal's racing manager. "They've done a great job of marketing it to us, anyway. Initially we were going to take Ocovango, but then Amralah came along. "He's been a bit maligned for some reason, but he keeps progressing. Let's hope if he wins again he might finally get some credit, because we think it's due. "He'll go straight there now. We'd toyed with going to Baden-Baden, but we want to find out how good he is. "After that he has the option of the Prix Dollar and I wouldn't mind a trip to Hong Kong in the winter! "He's had a few jockeys on him, but Joe (Fanning) was certainly the most positive and he seemed to respond to that. The Prince will have the final say. "When Mick and I were stuck in the services listening to the race Mick did mention the Juddmonte as he felt we should strike while the iron was hot, but when we realised there was only 11 days between them we soon reconsidered." ======================================== John Quinn reports The Wow Signal to be on target for next Sunday's Darley Prix Morny at Deauville. Unbeaten in two starts, the Al Shaqab Racing-owned colt has not been seen since his victory in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. A dirty scope ruled The Wow Signal out of last weekend's Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh. "We had a small hiccup with him when he didn't scope clean, but we've been very pleased with him over the last few days," said Quinn. "He just cantered this morning and we worked him yesterday with a view to running in France next weekend. It's all going well." Should The Wow Signal make it to Normandy, he will face a fellow Royal Ascot winner in Hootenanny. The American juvenile, who took the Windsor Castle at the big meeting, represents last year's winning trainer Wesley Ward, who was successful with No Nay Never. Richard Hannon's impressive Goodwood and Newmarket scorer Ivawood is also in the Morny picture. ==================================== David Barron is looking for help from the skies to allow him to run Pearl Secret in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday. The classy sprinter needs a bit of ease in the ground to allow him to perform to his able best, but despite all the rain around in Yorkshire in recent days, the Knavesmire has missed a large proportion of it. While Barron wants to run the Qatar Racing-owned five-year-old, he will not risk him on ground he deems is too quick. Barron said: "At the moment the plan is to run him in the Nunthorpe. He's in very good form at home and I want to run him. "We just need a bit of help from the ground. It will need to rain, but we can't do much about that." Pearl Secret has had four runs so far this season, winning a conditions race at Nottingham and finishing a half-length second in the Temple Stakes at Haydock on the two occasions when it was testing underfoot. ==================================== Panama Hat continued his remarkable run of form with a fifth consecutive victory as he showed he is still ahead of the ratings by taking the feature Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Red God' Handicap at Dundalk. Andy Oliver's three-year-old started his run at Leopardstown in June and followed up with victories at Fairyhouse, Roscommon and Naas before heading into the valuable all-weather contest with a mark 36lb higher than when he started. The 5-1 favourite was not blessed with a good draw this time and had to do most of his racing on the outside of the field, but Fran Berry had him close to the pace all the way and having hit the front two furlongs out, he stretched clear to beat Hes Our Music by two and a half lengths. Oliver said: "That was a fantastic performance, and he's a horse that has surpassed himself. Consolation to Chris (Hayes), who missed the ride (injured), and he has done all the work in previous races. "I had a couple of concerns, of which the draw was one, as he's a horse that likes a strong pace. Fran was a very able substitute and gave him a great ride. When he got to the front he did it well. "There are a couple of big handicaps at Leopardstown on Champions weekend, although even with the three-year-old allowance he would still probably have top weight. You are stepping into a different class of race. I'll look at where he'll go in consultation with Team Valor. "He wasn't the easiest horse at the start of the year. He was gelded and he likes his own routine and loves his day out. I was nervous enough coming here today." Eddie Lynam has a big week ahead of him with the likes of Sole Power and Anthem Alexander entered in major races at York, and the trainer warmed up by winning a nice pot with 25-1 shot Maremmadiavola in the Bar One Racing Mourne Handicap. Pat Smullen did well to get across to the sharp end of the contest from a poor draw, and he had a willing partner coming down the straight when the challengers stacked up behind, holding off Shipyard by half a length. The trainer said: "She had a 92 rating in Italy and the Irish handicapper gave her 98 and she struggled. She has come down a bit. Pat gave her a great ride and she won from a bad draw. This race used to be worth a lot more, but we'll take it." Mick Halford's classy juvenile Toscanini broke his duck in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden, going into the race after smart placed efforts behind Cappella Sansevero, Kool Kompany, Richard Pankhurst and Dick Whittington. It wasn't as easy as it might have been for the 1-5 favourite as the Ballydoyle colt General Marshall was quickly into his stride and wasn't stopping as they came down the straight, but Toscanini eventually reeled him in under Shane Foley and won well enough in the end by three-quarters of a length. Halford said: "His form entitled him to win. We were keen to drop him in. Joseph (O'Brien) probably got first run. Shane said when he pulled him out he was a bit lost, but once he got a hold of him and gave him a smack he straightened up. He always knew he was going to get there. It was his first time round the bend and on that surface. I'd say he went asleep on Shane." Victory came much easier for Aidan O'Brien's Group Three-placed youngster Qualify in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and the 4-5 favourite put in a commanding show from the front, clearing away in the closing stages to win by five and a half lengths in the hands of the trainer's son Joseph. ====================================== Paul Hanagan warmed up for the four-day Ebor Festival when landing a double on his comeback from injury at Pontefract. The dual champion jockey had been determined to test his fitness in time for York, where his rides include Taghrooda for his boss Sheikh Hamdan in the Yorkshire Oaks, after damaging his arm in a horror fall at Goodwood on July 29. And he made a successful return on Imshivalla (5-2) for trainer Richard Fahey, for whom he used to be stable jockey, in the CGC Events For Conference & Banqueting Handicap. He made all of the running as the three-year-old filly swept to her third win over a mile at the course this season, beating Lockhart by two and a half lengths. Hanagan said: "I'm just glad to be back. I've done as much as I could, but I was very sore. There's only one way of getting it right and that is by riding. The last couple of weeks have been difficult but I've been in this game long enough to know what happens. I'm looking forward to York now." Fahey's assistant, Robin O'Ryan, said: "This horse likes the hill here. Once a filly starts improving you never know when they're going to stop. It's helped her going up to a mile and letting her bowl along. She seems to relish it." Hanagan enjoyed a 100 per cent return on the day when steering Hesbaan (10-11 favourite) home in the totepool Supporting The Sport You Love Maiden Stakes for his main patron. He had the Marcus Tregoning-trained gelding to the fore to register a straightforward two-and-a-quarter-length verdict over Flawless Pink. "He's done it well and it was a valuable maiden. The prize-money's good here," said the trainer. "He's a nice, sound little horse. He's been a bit unlucky." Fahey had earlier struck with Grandad's World (3-1 favourite), who made a winning debut in the British Stallion Studs EBF Trevor Woods Memorial Maiden Stakes, storming away under Tony Hamilton to score by three and a quarter lengths from Canny Kool. Peter Niven had York on his mind as Beat The Shower (15-2) gave a timely boost to stablemate Clever Cookie's bid for the Betfred Ebor when winning for the first time for three years in the St John Ambulance Handicap, Robert Winston producing him on the wide outside to take up the running and win by two and three-quarter lengths. "He's been knocking at the door. He snapped his splint bone and had to have an operation," said the Malton trainer. "He's had a few issues but he deserved to win again. This is the seventh race he's won now. I'm pleased for the horse. he's a little favourite of mine. " We're in form. Everything's spot on and I'm looking forward to the Ebor. Clever Cookie will be my next runner." Valonia landed a deserved Listed-race triumph in the EBF Highfield Farm Flying Fillies' Stakes. The Hendy Candy-trained three-year-old only had a maiden success as juvenile to her name but she had run several races in defeat against smart company and got her just deserts with a gutsy display. Henry Bentley had the 100-30 shot quickly out of the stalls from stall two to grab the rail and be close to the pace. Spinatrix put in a valiant challenge, but Valonia would not be denied and got home by a neck. Candy said: "I just got her ears stuffed with cotton wool and that seems to have taken the edge off her. She's a bit lively and can get very hot. Th at was the plan. I'm sure we'll find something else over a stiff six or an easy seven." Alan Swinbank's Aramist (7-1) collared long-time leader Asteroidea in the last 100 yards to run out a ready three-length winner of the totepool Home Of Pool Betting Handicap under Ben Curtis, while the Nova Display Handicap went to the in-form Poyle Vinnie (7-2 favourite). ======================================= Richard Hannon's Tupi got second place in the stewards' room after meeting trouble in the Prix Francois Boutin at Deauville. Runner-up to Highland Reel in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood, the colt was send off at odds-on dropping down to Listed level in France but Richard Hughes found a gap up the inside rail was closed by the front-running Iceberg. Hughes tried to switch out of danger but it was all too late as Jonathan Pease's Nucifera had already swooped and quickened well clear under Christophe Lemaire to take his unbeaten record to three. Iceberg passed the post second, ahead of Tupi, but the places were reversed. It was a poignant outcome for winning connections, as Boutin trained the likes of of Nureyev, Miesque, Hector Protector and Kingmambo for the Niarchos family, whose colours were carried by Nucifera. Racing manager Alan Cooper said: "It's our first win in the Boutin after many years of trying and this is an emotional moment." A next likely target for the well-entered Nucifera is the Prix La Rochette at Longchamp in early September. Zarshana gave the Aga Khan another win in the Prix Minerve when arriving with a strong finish under Christophe Soumillon. The Group Three event for three-year-olds over an extended mile and a half attracted a trio of cross-Channel raiders and it was those three who set the pace, with Ralph Beckett's Honor Bound leading from Criteria and Marsh Daisy. As the field straightened up for home the whole complexion of the race changed and as the British runners weakened, it was Alain de Royer-Dupre's recent Longchamp winner and 2-1 favourite Zarshana who took advantage from the closing Game Zone. The most recent of the owner's numerous victories in this race had been from Shareta in 2011. ======================================= Joseph O'Brien believes he can manage the 8st 12lb required to ride Australia in Wednesday's Juddmonte International at York. Should the jockey's father Aidan give the Investec Derby winner the go-ahead for the Knavesmire contest, Australia would be dropping back two furlongs from his most recent appearance in the Irish Derby. After winning on Qualify at Dundalk, where he put up 1lb overweight on a horse scheduled to carry 9st, the jockey was asked about Australia and said: "I can do the weight." Two years ago, O'Brien jnr had to miss the ride on Camelot in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe because he could not manage 8st 11lb. O'Brien snr told At The Races: "The plan is (Australia) will be declared if the ground looks OK in the morning and if everything is OK then he will be declared to run. "He has done very well in his mid-season break and he is ready to go. I would imagine he will come on for it. "Joseph is able to do 8st 12lb. We don't let him do it, although he has done it last year and he will do it when he needs to. We'll leave the decision to him." ======================================== Kingman once again proved his superiority in the mile division when using his devastating turn of foot to take the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville. It was a fourth Group One in a row for John Gosden's superstar, though connections only made the decision to run after walking the Normandy course before racing amid fears that it might be too soft. With only five starters it was always likely to be tactical, but James Doyle waited patiently before unleashing Kingman from last place inside the final furlong and he burst away from Anodin, with last season's runner-up Olympic Glory only third this time. As the field virtually walked out of the stalls, it was left to German outsider Red Dubawi to take up the running and the pace began to pick up. Just as he had shown in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, St James's Palace Stakes and Sussex Stakes, Kingman can produce top-level sprinting speed and with a flicker of effort from his jockey the race was quickly over. Frankie Dettori was always hard at work on Olympic Glory and never looked likely to trouble Kingman, while Clive Brittain's Rizeena was rarely a danger herself under Ryan Moore. Gosden revealed the final decision to allow Kingman to take his chance was made by owner Prince Khalid Abdullah. The Clarehaven handler said: "It was a 50-50 in my mind, and a very sporting gesture by the Prince. I didn't think he was entirely in love with the ground - it was different to anything else he had faced - but he's got a wonderful temperament and showed he can cope with anything. "It was a muddling pace, and James kept wondering when they were going to quicken it up. You had to be impressed with the way he went and won his race - the good thing was that he completely switched off. "The plan is now the QEII (Ascot, October 18), which has always been his end-of-year objective." Doyle said: "It's a shame they went so slowly early on because then it turned into a dash to the line. "I wasn't sure he would be able to go and do his usual thing on the ground, but he was just the same Kingman when I asked him to pick up as he's always been." Dettori said of Olympic Glory: "My horse ran a super race, but he's the same sort of horse as the winner in that he likes something to aim at. In that small field, I had to ride him a bit differently and it probably cost us second."

Race 3 - 3:00pm THE AMBITIONS PERSONNEL HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 2) The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, DURSEY SOUND (IRE), ridden by A P McCoy and trained by Jonjo O'Neill, compared with its previous run at Market Rasen on 19 July 2014 where the gelding was pulled up. They noted the explanation of the trainer's representative that DURSEY SOUND (IRE) was suited by the drop in class and also the race being run to suit him on this occasion. They ordered DURSEY SOUND (IRE) to be routine tested.
Race 4 - 3:30pm THE FIREWALL LIMITED HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) The Stewards noted that INDALO RETURN (IRE), which fell later in the race, had interfered with SPENCER MOON (IRE), unplaced, leaving the back straight on the final circuit but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
VUVUZELA, ridden by Tony Kelly, placed third, did not enter the winner's enclosure. Being satisfied that it was on veterinary advice, the Stewards took no further action.
Race 5 - 4:05pm THE MARY BENNETT BIRTHDAY HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 3) The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule (B)11.6 into possible interference inside the final half-furlong. Plans for Arab Spring are on hold as connections steadily bring the lightly-raced four-year-old back to full fitness following his disappointing effort at Newmarket. Arab Spring: Plans are on hold The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt looked very much on the upgrade when completing a four-timer inside three months in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap at Royal Ascot. "He's been off for a little while and he's just in light work at the moment." Arab Spring's sole early-closing entry at present is the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 13, for which he is a 16/1 chance.

Amralah has been given the green light to test his mettle at the highest level in the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 13. Amralah is set to dip his toe in Group One waters Mick Channon's four-year-old has taken his career to new heights in his last two races, winning a Newbury Listed race and the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock. After that he has the option of the Prix Dollar and I wouldn't mind a trip to Hong Kong in the winter! "He's had a few jockeys on him, but Joe (Fanning) was certainly the most positive and he seemed to respond to that. The Prince will have the final say. "When Mick and I were stuck in the services listening to the race Mick did mention the Juddmonte as he felt we should strike while the iron was hot, but when we realised there was only 11 days between them we soon reconsidered."

Charlie Fellowes is trying to decide whether to strike while the iron is hot with his progressive handicapper Epsom Hill. Epsom Hill could make a quick return The Swedish-bred colt has made a huge leap forward for his young trainer in the last couple of weeks, winning by 10 lengths at Thirsk at the start of the month. Last Friday, he gave Fellowes his first Newbury winner as a hot favourite on soft ground. "It's a tricky one," said the trainer. "I have had a look at the programme book and as he's in such good form, I could put him in the Melrose at York on Saturday. "But on the other hand, there are a couple of nice races later on and I could put him away for the November Handicap. "Ground is the key to him. We'll see how he comes out of Friday's race. My gut feeling is to put him away, but it's a nice dilemma to have."

========================================== 16:45 Monday 18th August Racing Tips - 18/08/2014
Rocket Ronnie is the sole course and distance winner in the field for the mile handicap at Thirsk and is on the shortlist. This may be strongly run though and I worry about him seeing it out on ground softer than ideal. Shouranour is still a maiden but he'll be involved and the yard are flying. A touch more appealing at the prices though is Bahamian C at 7/1. He drops in trip form last time and will appreciate a test. The ground is the sole worry but his dam was a winner on soft and it will hopefully dry out. The yard are in good form and judging by the times he's been putting in, this 4 year old is very much on the up. Thirsk 15.45 - Bahamian C 1pt e/w
There's pace in abundance in the sprint and the majority of it comes form high up. 9, 12, 13, 14, and 15 should set this up stand's side and, though 1, 2 and 4 house front runners, they aren't all guaranteed to go forward and the high pace should hold up that little better. Old boy Oldjoesaid is well worth a play at 12/1 out of stall 8 having dropped to a handy mark just 1lb above his last win. He's a course and distance winner off 4lb higher too, drops in class, and will not want the ground too quick. Philip Makin has won with him before and, though he'll want to get away better than he managed last time out and the yard aren't in top form, I fancy he'll be thereabouts. Thirsk 16.45 - Oldjoesaid 1pt e/w

AN ERA comes to an end at Thirsk on Monday as veteran sprinter Tax Free goes back to where it all began to line up for his 95th and probably final start for Team Nicholls. ==================================
Roscommon going "The ground at Roscommon today remains good, good to firm in places. Watering National Hunt track this morning" - an update on the going at Roscommon racecourse (@hri_Racing). 9 mins ago. ======================================
Up for the Battle? Among the most interesting runners (in theory) today is Battle Group. The one-time classy hurdler and chaser became more of a pantomime villain when refusing to start before the Grand National. He runs in a 1m4f maiden (4.00) at Kempton. ========================================
York update "Dry overnight. Cool, breezy morning. Going good. Forecast Monday to Thursday is mainly dry & breezy with a shower possible. Rain Friday. Dry Saturday" - a York update from assistant clerk of the course Anthea Morshead (@anthealmorshead) 1 hour ago. ===========================================

Kieren Fallon missed a couple of rides at Kempton on Monday due to travel difficulties.
His agent Simon Dodds said: "Kieren had been riding in Turkey on Sunday, he got delayed and couldn't make it in time. He'll be fine for Leicester on Tuesday."
The former champion has four booked mounts at Leicester. ======================================
Dunaden is to take up stallion duties at Overbury Stud in Gloucestershire.
The Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup and Hong Kong Vase winner was retired last month by trainer Mikel Delzangles and owner Sheikh Fahad Al Thani after he suffered an injury. A fee will be announced shortly.
Simon Sweeting of Overbury said: "It is a hugely exciting to be standing a horse of Dunaden's stature and to be involved with Sheikh Fahad and David Redvers."
He went on: "Everything about Dunaden suggests he can become a successful sire - he is an extremely attractive individual, both in looks and temperament.
"I fully expect breeders to share in Sheikh Fahad's enthusiasm for the horse."
David Redvers, Sheikh Fahad's racing and bloodstock advisor, said: "I am delighted we have found Dunaden a wonderful home with such a professional operator as Simon Sweeting.
"Being based close to Tweenhills Farm & Stud will enable us to walk in plenty of Sheikh Fahad's best mares to be covered by him. Sheikh Fahad is determined to give the horse the opportunity to shine at stud as he did on the racecourse." ===========================================
Multiple Group One-winning sprinter Reckless Abandon could make his return to action at Newmarket on Saturday after featuring among 20 entries for the Stobart Members Club Hopeful Stakes.
The four-year-old won the Prix Morny and the Middle Park Stakes during a tremendous unbeaten juvenile campaign for Clive Cox.
Although he did not reach those heights as a three-year-old, he performed creditably in the Temple Stakes at Haydock, the King's Stand at Royal Ascot and the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp before being retired to Darley Stud.
However, after suffering fertility problems, Darley announced in April Reckless Abandon would return to racing for Godolphin under the tutelage of trainer Charlie Appleby and this weekend's six-furlong Listed prize is a potential starting point.
Robert Cowell's 32 Red (Stewards') Cup winner Intrinsic is among the potential opposition along with the Brian Meehan-trained Intibaah, Richard Fahey's Alben Star and Tropics from Dean Ivory's yard. ========================================
Anodin is likely to take in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp en route to America after his fine effort in defeat behind Kingman on Sunday.
The four-year-old was unable to keep tabs on John Gosden's incredible colt in the Prix Jacques le Marois, but came home clear of the rest to leave Freddy Head eyeing a tilt at the Breeders' Cup Mile, which he won three times as a trainer with Goldikova and twice as a jockey in the 1980s aboard Miesque.
Head feels the Foret on Arc day on October 5 is the ideal race to prepare Anodin for his Californian mission.
He said: "He ran a great race. He is so consistent and very tough, so we are delighted with him.
"I think the going was against him. On better ground he might even have run a bit better, but the winner is a very good horse and a true champion.
"We haven't finalised a plan yet but I think his next race could be the Prix de la Foret and that will be his prep run for the Breeders' Cup Mile.
"I love the Foret as a prep race for the Breeders' Cup. There is the Prix du Moulin (Longchamp, September 14), but I think that is a bit far away from the Breeders' Cup.
"I think he has enough speed to go back to seven furlongs in the Foret and we are quite excited about taking him to America.
"Olivier (Peslier) thinks the track will suit him and he thinks he will be hard to beat." =====================================
Trainer Rod Millman hopes to have the services of Richard Hughes to ride stable star Master Carpenter in the Doom Bar Celebration Mile at Goodwood on Saturday.
The three-year-old Mastercraftsman colt has enjoyed an excellent campaign, with a Listed-race romp at Sandown and a Group Three victory in France backed up by some excellent placed efforts.
He was last seen finishing third behind John Gosden's Western Hymn in the Prix Eugene Adam at Maisons-Laffitte and Millman is looking forward to seeing his charge come back in trip on the Sussex Downs, with the champion jockey expected to be in the plate.
Millman said: "We are hoping to run Master Carpenter at Goodwood. He was declared to run in the Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury last week but the ground was fast and I didn't want to risk him on it.
"I think he didn't see out a mile and a quarter on soft ground in the Prix Eugene Adam, although the winner is a very good horse. He would have probably been OK over that distance on faster ground but it was very heavy that day.
"A mile on good or good to soft ground will be ideal for him and, hopefully, Richard Hughes will be taking the ride.
"Although he has had a lot of races, he is still a progressive horse. He is only three and has improved with every run this season."
Master Carpenter is among 16 horses in contention for the Group Two feature.
Roger Charlton's Sovereign Stakes winner Captain Cat could turn out relatively quickly following his Salisbury triumph last Thursday, a double secured by Afsare 12 months ago.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Darwin has obvious claims having finished a close third behind the brilliant Kingman in the Sussex Stakes over the course and distance.
The master of Ballydoyle has left in July Cup fifth Cougar Mountain, but he is expected to go down in trip, rather than up, for the Coolmore Nunthorpe over York's five furlongs on Friday.
Another in the possible line-up is Farraaj, who has rediscovered the winning formula for Roger Varian at Epsom and in the John Smith's Cup.
Trade Storm, Hors De Combat, Mooharib and Muteela are also in the reckoning. ======================================
Dermot Weld's Pale Mimosa is the remaining top weight on 9st 10lb as a huge field remains in contention for Saturday's Betfred Ebor at York.
The defection of Eye Of The Storm and Camborne leaves Weld's mare, whose three Listed victories to date include the 2012 Galtres Stakes on the Knavesmire, sitting alone at the head.
Among those to be confirmed at the latest stage are the red-hot favourite Pallasator, representing Sir Mark Prescott and now Qatar Racing after their recent purchase of the Ascot winner.
Most of the leading contenders remain in the reckoning, such as Havana Cooler for three-times Ebor winner Luca Cumani, Mighty Yar for Lady Cecil, Peter Niven's likeable Clever Cookie and Northumberland Plate hero Angel Gabrial.
Others of note include the Queen's Bold Sniper and the Tony Martin-trained Ted Veale, although his well-supported stablemate Quick Jack will need a good few horses to drop out to get a run. =========================================
Royal Ascot winner Baitha Alga stars among 15 juveniles confirmed for the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes at York on Saturday.
Since opening his account at the second attempt at Chester, Richard Hannon's charge has claimed impressive victories in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom and the Norfolk Stakes at the Royal meeting .
Baitha Alga is also entered in the DBS Premier Yearling Stakes on Thursday's card.
Hannon similarly has Phoenix Stakes runner-up Kool Kompany and Beacon in the same two races.
There is a strong representation from Ireland with Aidan O'Brien's pair The Great War and War Envoy joined in the list by Tommy Stack's Accepted and Rapid Applause from Michael O'Callaghan's yard.
The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained Ahlan Emarati, Bryan Smart's Fendale and Karl Burke's Glenalmond also feature in the Group Two over six furlongs. =========================================
Ryan Moore has been confirmed to ride Kingston Hill after the Investec Derby runner-up was one of 10 horses declared for Wednesday's Neptune Investment Management Great Voltigeur Stakes at York.
Trainer Roger Varian has kept his options open with the grey, who was also entered in the Juddmonte International on the same card, after finishing fourth in the Coral-Eclipse last time.
His main opponents look to be Hartnell, viewed as a Ladbrokes St Leger candidate by trainer Mark Johnston after victories in the Queen's Vase and Bahrain Trophy, and Sir Michael Stoute's Gordon Stakes winner Snow Sky.
Aidan O'Brien will bring across both the impressive Tipperary scorer Granddukeoftuscany and Indian Maharaja.
Observational is given another chance to stake a claim by Roger Charlton, having run moderately in the Gordon Stakes, while Postponed is tested further after winning a Hamilton Listed race.
Marzocco, Odeon and Red Galileo complete what is usually regarded as the strongest St Leger trial. =======================================
Aidan O'Brien is set to be double-handed in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York on Thursday.
The Ballydoyle trainer will rely on Venus De Milo and Tapestry in a bid to lower the colours of unbeaten Investec Oaks winner and King George heroine Taghrooda.
O'Brien said: "The plan is to run Venus De Milo and Tapestry in the Yorkshire Oaks."
He went on: "Both of them seem to be in good form since their last run."
Venus De Milo, a daughter of Duke Of Marmalade, returns to a mile and a half after twice being placed in 10-furlongs Group Ones this season, most recently when third to Sultanina in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
She was second to The Fugue in this race 12 months ago.
Tapestry, meanwhile, was runner-up to stablemate Bracelet in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh. =======================================
Aidan O'Brien has issued concerns over the potential fitness of Australia as the dual Derby winner is pitched into all-aged competition for the first time in the Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday.
Since being narrowly beaten into third by Night Of Thunder and Kingman in the 2000 Guineas, the son of Galileo and Ouija Board has blown away his opponents at Epsom and the Curragh to confirm himself the leading three-year-old over middle distances.
With just five rivals lining up, the trainer's son Joseph is set to slim down to 8st 12lb to keep the partnership intact.
This, though, is the likely odds-on favourite's first outing since winning the Irish Derby on June 28 and his team have later targets in mind.
Aidan O'Brien said: "He has done very well and is just ready to start back again.
"I suppose, because he has done so well, we are a little bit worried about his fitness.
"But really, when you give a horse a break - especially a three-year-old - going into the autumn, you want him to do well. He did well, he did very well."
However, just two older horses have turned up, with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Telescope and William Haggas' stable star Mukhadram both proven top-notchers, having finished second and third respectively in the King George at Ascot last month.
Mukhadram had previously claimed a first Group One in Sandown's Coral-Eclipse, while Telescope impressed in the Hardwicke Stakes at the Royal meeting.
Kevin Ryan's French Derby winner The Grey Gatsby is an interesting contender, returning to the scene of his victory in the Dante Stakes earlier in the year.
Peter Chapple-Hyam's Arod has ground to make up on Australia on Epsom form, but is expected to be more effective over a mile and a quarter.
Australia's stable companion Kingfisher completes the field.
Coral offer 8-13 about Australia ahead of Telescope at 9-2, and Paddy Power are the same price about the favourite.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: "Joseph O'Brien said after the Irish Derby that he'd love to ride Australia over a mile and two furlongs on fast ground - it might not be quite fast, but it's close enough and he'll obviously be a very tough nut to crack."
Rory Jiwani of StanJames.com said: "We make him our 4-6 favourite with King George runner-up Telescope next best at 4-1 and Mukhadram 11-2.
"The Grey Gatsby won the Dante over course and distance for Kevin Ryan before taking the Prix Du Jockey Club and he could be the value pick at 12-1."

SPRINTER SACRE and Simonsig, the two superstar chasers whose absence through injury scuppered Nicky Henderson's bid for the trainers' championship last season, are back in training and set to hit the racecourse within months.
Having carried all before him over fences with ten straight victories and seven consecutive Grade 1s, Sprinter Sacre's serene progress at the top of the two mile chasing tree came to a juddering halt when he was pulled up at Kempton and diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
Simonsig, meanwhile, developed a splint on his near-fore. However, on Monday Henderson told the Racing Post both were making good progress and outlined the duo's ambitious early season targets. =================================

Pat Shanahan has set Maid Of The Glens another big challenge by taking her to Deauville on Tuesday to run against French Guineas and Oaks winner Avenir Certain. Pat Shanahan: Trains Maid of the Glens The Kilkenny trainer is not frightened of taking a risk, as his filly finished a decent sixth behind Bracelet on her most recent start in the Irish Oaks, having lost her maiden tag at Hamilton. Avenir Certain, trained by Jean-Claude Roget, has been given a break since her most recent Classic victory at Chantilly and does not have to carry a penalty in the Group Two Shadwell Prix de la Nonette. Shanahan said: "It looks a strong race but she ran very well in the Irish Oaks for a filly rated 79. "She's fresh and well, and I'm very happy with her. Anything between a mile and a quarter and a mile and a half suits her, and hopefully she can run a good race." Also in the line-up is the Aga Khan's Vazira, who lost her own unbeaten record when fourth in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, and Roger Charlton's Be My Gal. There is further British interest in the shape of Madame Chiang, David Simcock's Musidora winner who has been absent since finishing 10th in the Oaks. The Nonette is traditionally a prep-race for the Prix Vermeille and the Prix de l'Opera back at Longchamp in the autumn. Be My Gal has appeared twice in France this season and her trainer told "The ground in Deauville has been fairly heavy recently but having won the Prix de Psyche Group Three over course and distance recently on fast ground she might be better suited to slower ground."
