Fergal Lynch has one booked ride at Ayr on Monday as he prepares to make his return to British racing.
The jockey, 36, admitted stopping a horse, Bond City, from winning at Ripon in August 2004, supplying inside information about six of his rides and associating with the disqualified Miles Rodgers.
The former champion apprentice was fined £50,000 in July 2009 and agreed not to ride in Britain for at least a year as part of a plea bargain agreement with the British Horseracing Authority.
He has, however, been free to ride in Ireland after he was granted a licence by the Irish Turf Club in April 2012.
He has been granted permission to ride in Britain under BHA rules as an overseas jockey, initially for a probationary period.
Lynch was told he must firstly participate in a BHA integrity education video before returning to the saddle in Britain.
Curragh-based trainer Michael O'Callaghan revealed earlier this week he planned to hand Lynch the mount aboard Mr Bounty in the Danny Tyson Handicap at Ayr and he has been declared for the ride in the second division of the seven-furlong contest at 3.30. ======================================
Betfred Ebor favourite Pallasator remains on target for a tilt at Europe's most valuable staying handicap at York after being snapped up by leading owners Qatar Racing.
Sir Mark Prescott's progressive stayer opened his account for the campaign with an impressive display at Ascot late last month and the form received a significant boost when the runner-up, Double Bluff, struck gold at Glorious Goodwood a week ago.
Jockey Luke Morris has partnered Pallasator on six of his eight career appearances and although Sheikh Fahad's Qatar Racing operation employ Jamie Spencer as retained rider, racing manager David Redvers has confirmed Morris will keep the ride at York on August 23.
Redvers said: "We decided to move post-Goodwood after Mark Johnston's horse (Double Bluff) franked his form.
"The Ebor very much remains the plan and Luke Morris will keep the ride at York. That was part of the conditions of the sale.
"He's a very exciting horse and we hope he will develop into a horse better than a handicapper in time." =======================================
William Buick believes Gregorian should have plenty in his favour as he tackles the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
The five-year-old was last seen finishing third in the July Cup, beaten a length and a half by the winner Slade Power over six furlongs.
He runs over half a furlong further in France and Buick expects the trip, as well as the soft ground, to suit John Gosden's charge.
He said: "The ground is very soft, so that should suit him. It was a really good run last time in the July Cup and six and a half furlongs should be perfect.
"He's a good, honest horse and he should run a good, honest race hopefully." ======================================
Beach Belle makes her debut in the Qatar Racing silks when she takes her chance in a top-notch renewal of the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
Sheikh Fahad Al Thani's operation snapped up a half-share in the Invincible Spirit filly, who was formerly owned solely by Lady O'Reilly.
The exciting Kevin Prendergast-trained youngster has won both her starts this term, landing the opening juvenile maiden of the year back in March before following up with a Listed success at Naas in June.
Qatar Racing's David Redvers reports this race to have been in Prendergast's sights for quite some time now.
He said: "A mixture of form and homework would lead us to think she's one of the major players this year - that's the reason we have invested in her. She's a gorgeous filly with a gorgeous pedigree and she has got plenty of speed.
"This has always been Kevin's target for her and he's always said he is not concerned by what else runs in the race, so let's hope he is right."
Qatar Racing also have an admirable type in Capella Sansevero, who will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing effort in the Railway Stakes.
He was only fifth that day, but trainer Ger Lyons subsequently admitted he made a mistake in running him again so soon after claiming second behind The Wow Signal in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
"He just bounced - he came back too quickly. Ger was kicking himself afterwards, but these things happen sometimes," Redvers said.
"His Ascot run is probably some of the smartest two-year-old form seen this year. Ger is sure he deserves his place in this race, so hopefully we will see the horse that ran at Ascot this time rather than the horse that ran at the Curragh.
"He is versatile, so the ground would not be a worry." ======================================
Muraaqaba stayed on best of all to come out on top in the German-Thoroughbred.com Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.
Winner of her maiden on the July course in June, the Mark Johnston-trained filly returned to Headquarters on the back of a perfectly adequate fourth place in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot and was t rying seven furlongs for the first time.
Dane O'Neill had her settled nicely in mid-division and got a lovely tow into the race as Calypso Beat attempted to make all, and though there were five in a line with a quarter of a mile to run, Muraaqaba (7-1) got to the front around the furlong pole and put the race to bed from there.
The gallant Calypso Beat was a length and three-quarters back in second, with favourite Winters Moon third. =========================================
Ryan Tate was a late replacement for Martin Harley on Energia Davos in the Betfred Goals Galore Handicap at Haydock Park and guided the 16-1 shot to a comfortable victory.
Harley's flight from Newmarket was delayed and trainer Marco Botti only informed Tate of the change five minutes before the jockeys were due in the paddock.
Having settled his mount in the rear, Tate made smooth headway up the home straight and had no trouble seeing off Elhaame, who had looked set to play a big role in the finish. Llarnamon Lad ran his usual consistent race and stayed on for second, beaten a length and a quarter.
The winning jockey said: " I wish I could get on more spares like that. It's unlucky for Martin but lucky for me, that's the way it goes sometimes.
"It couldn't have worked out much better. Marco said to ride him like the best horse in the race and that was how it panned out."
Ryan Moore got on the scoresheet when Provenance (5-2 favourite) continued her progression for Sir Michael Stoute in the Betfred 'Double Delight' Handicap.
The Cheveley Park Stud-owned winner is a half-sister to the top-class Integral and took her tally to three from four off a mark of 90, and black type races surely now await.
John Gosden's Cornrow (4-1) looks to have a bright future after defying an absence of nearly a year in the Betfred-sponsored London Mile Series Qualifier. William Buick had missed two earlier rides as his helicopter flight was delayed, but he made the journey north worthwhile.
The jockey said: "I'm not sure why he was off, it was maybe immaturity, but we got an easy lead and that was a nice comeback."
Yourartisonfire crossed the line second but was placed third after causing interference with Multi Bene. Jockey Joey Haynes was banned for two days (August 23 and 24).
Montaly (10-1) was not disgraced when fifth at Royal Ascot but clearly appreciated a drop in class as he bagged the Betfred 'Goals Galore Extra' Levy Board Handicap for trainer Andrew Balding and jockey David Probert.
Probert said: "The main thing was to try to get him to settle. He ran very well in the Queen's Vase but the ground was a bit against him there. He finshed his race off very well today. He will improve a bit more for that and will probably get a bit further." ========================================
Token Of Love justified market support as she landed the Betfred TV/EBF Stallions Dick Hern Fillies' Stakes at Haydock Park in the hands of the in-form Joe Fanning.
The rider had earlier claimed the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes with an exemplary front-running ride on Amralah to follow the success of Token Of Love's William Haggas-trained stablemate Squats in the opening nursery.
Alutiq set a strong early gallop, but she folded tamely two furlongs from home, leaving Token Of Love to assume the lead, with Manderley and Lady Lara setting out in pursuit. They tried to reel in Token Of Love, but Fanning's mount had too many guns and prevailed by two and a half lengths.
Lady Lara eventually edged out Manderley for second, with favourite Lightning Thunder a disappointing fourth.
The trainer's wife, Maureen, said: "Joe was alive to what was going on and he gave her a very nice ride. She really enjoyed that today. She picked up great and always looked in control. We always thought she wanted it really quick, but that was just nice ground today.
"She was supposed to go to America for a race at Saratoga at the end of the month but whether she will or not after that, I don't know. She's definitely improving and there are plenty of opportunities for fillies, so William will need to chat to Mr Oppenheimer."
Squats showed himself to be a juvenile worth reckoning with when winning the Betfred 'Play Todays Scoop6' Nursery.
Albany third Patience Alexander was giving away lumps of weight and taking on the boys following a break since Royal Ascot and she looked badly in need of the run, being one of the first beaten.
David Evans' filly was sent off joint-favourite with Clive Cox's Profitable, who attempted to make all but could not fend off Squats in the closing stages. The 3-1 chance scraped home by a neck.
Maureen Haggas said: "He's just a nice, straightforward two-year-old. He's a quick little chap and the drop down to five furlongs suited. It looked a hot little race beforehand, but it is very hard for two-year-olds to give away that much weight.
"He'll probably step up in class now, maybe something like the Flying Childers, but that will be up to William. He must have fast ground, so we were glad it didn't rain much." ==================================
Joe Fanning lit up Haydock Park with a sparkling 329-1 treble that included the two feature races on Amralah and Token Of Love.
The jockey certainly shone in the saddle as Amralah made every yard for success in the Betfred Rose Of Lancaster Stakes.
He opened up a handy advantage on the Teofilo colt and saw off the challenge of Hillstar for a relatively cosy length-and-a-quarter success, with one-time Derby hope True Story coming under pressure in the straight before eventually staying on again for third.
A 16-1 short-head winner at Newbury last month from the reopposing Vancouverite, the Mick Channon-trained winner was again overlooked by punters in going off at 14-1 for this Group Three test.
Channon did not get to see his charge win as he was stuck in traffic on the M6, but he was pleased to strike nevertheless.
He said: "We have always thought he was a good horse and he's obviously improving. Joe has ridden for me a bit in the past and he's always been great on front-runners. He's in the Irish Champion Stakes and the sky's the limit."
Fanning added: "He was pretty straightforward. We were allowed to bowl along in front and he's galloped all the way to the line. We went a nice early pace and even though he hung to his right a bit, it didn't stop him.
"I wouldn't think a mile and a half is beyond him and you could ride him any way as long as there's a decent pace.
"Things are going very well for me at the moment. Mark's (Johnston, Fanning's main employer) horses are in great form and I'm getting plenty of outside rides." ========================================
Emma-Jayne Wilson was thrilled with her success in landing a double for the Girls in the Shergar Cup at Ascot even though she just missed out on winning both the team and individual titles.
With well over 1,000 winners at home, the 32-year-old Canadian is no novice to the game, but she undoubtedly embraced it best having drawn a blank from two previous Shergar Cups.
She punched the air after helping the Lady Cecil-trained Retirement Plan (7-1) to victory in the Stayers, and followed up on Don't Call Me (5-1) for David Nicholls in the Mile.
"It means absolutely everything, I'm elated," she said after success on Retirement Plan, who collared the enterprisingly ridden Buckland to win by a length and a quarter. "It's not just winning the Shergar Cup for the team, winning a race over here means a lot to me personally.
"Ten years ago when I started riding I never dreamed I'd be here in this position. I'm proud to be here, and proud to be a Canadian."
Lady Cecil said: "I thought Emma gave him a lovely ride. He's a horse we've always liked and he just got tired here last time. We know he'll stay two miles now.
"He's in the Ebor, he gets a penalty but I'm not sure he'll get in. I've also entered him in the Irish Leger. I'm not sure about that but we've got a few options."
Wilson then got Don't Call Me home by a neck in a blanket finish to the Mile.
"I knew I had some horse to ride," she said. "But there were others in there to beat, and I could see in the finish they had their game faces on too, with their ears pinned.
"But my horse dug in and met them. He wanted the fight as much as I did and enjoyed it as much. This was horse racing at its best, for sure. I said to the trainer if his horse disappears from the yard and is suddenly on a plane to Canada, I've got nothing to do with it."
Nicholls was impressed, and said: "She'd seen the videos, done her homework and knew exactly what she wanted to do. Fair play to her, she did exactly what she said. This horse is a different beast around Ascot."
Craig Williams has won multiple Group Ones worldwide, but he was another rider to be breaking his Shergar Cup duck in the opening Dash.
The Australian has ridden around Ascot many times before and sat prominently on Robert Cowell's 7-2 favourite Goldream, holding on by a head for the Rest of the World.
Media-savvy Williams thanked the sponsors and the hosts, and said: "It's the third time I've ridden in it and my first winner so I've probably got more points on the board there than from my other two times! I love the concept and the way the public embrace it - it's one of those events you hope to get the phone call for."
Tom Queally gained a comfortable victory for Great Britain & Ireland in the Challenge aboard Semeen (6-1) for Luca Cumani, while the green team also fought out the Dash, with Richard Hughes and 7-2 joint-favourite Highland Acclaim beating Jimmy Fortune and Golden Steps by a nose. Olivier Peslier's performance helped Europe to defend the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup by just a point from an Emma-Jayne Wilson-inspired Girls team as the competition went right down to the wire at Ascot.
Canadian Wilson lit up the event with her enthusiasm and charisma, and was cruelly denied the points for both the team and Silver Saddle leading individual rider awards by Peslier himself in the Classic.
Having won two races already, Wilson dropped her stick in the closing stages and her mount Astronereus was beaten just a nose by Peslier and Our Gabrial (8-1), with the Frenchman's more consistent finishing across the board sealing the prizes after neither the Girls nor Europe could land a blow in the concluding Sprint.
Europe ended up with 69 against the Girls on 68, although winning skipper Frankie Dettori was not exactly thrilled by his own role in the win.
"What a captain I am," said the Italian wryly. "I'm different class! Three points and four of my horses lame."
He added: "Thank goodness for the other two. But in truth we did have the most experienced team. And we just had to beat those girls.
"Olivier has been my good friend for more than 20 years. Just a wonderful natural jockey, cooler than a cucumber when it mattered, as cool as an iceberg.
"Adrie (de Vies) is so talented and as nice a guy as you will meet, and a world-class jockey, even if he isn't so well known here as Olivier.
"But that's the great thing about the Shergar Cup, it gives people a chance to see these top riders. It's great fun for us and I hope is great fun to watch."
Peslier said: "I'm very happy. It's been a competition everyone could follow until the end. Everything happened in the last race. I'm at Deauville tomorrow. So we'll enjoy today, and tomorrow's another day." =======================================

Course lover Starwatch may get the run of things at Windsor but this will be on the sharp side. Evident is very likeable on ground that should suit and the yard are bang in form. He has a 6lb pull with Whipper Snapper for a 3 and a quarter length defeat back at Newbury in September and that may be enough but the latter is probably better drawn and a more appealing price at 11/1. He will relish the rain and a visor goes on to try and rediscover that early season form. It's good form too, behind Dark Emerald, and the yard has struggled since but sent out a recent winner and may be back on song. Windsor 16.45 - Whipper Snapper 1pt e/w

Ryan Moore heads to Leicester on Sunday, and here he gives us his exclusive views on the four rides he has booked in...
14:00 Leicester - Pleiades Has plenty of stamina in his pedigree, being by Galileo out of a 1m4f winner, so 7f should be a good starting point for him. Goes well at home, but our juveniles tend to come on for the run, and I imagine that he will be the case again here. And Newmarket runner-up Good Contact sets a pretty high standard to aim at.
15:00 Leicester - Gothic
Has put in two disappointing efforts since finishing an unlucky second at Goodwood in May. Has only come down 1lb for those two efforts and clearly has something to prove, but he is a course winner and he has the ability to win this if he puts it all in. You couldn't be confident though.
15:30 Leicester - Dinneratmidnight
Bounced back to form when winning at Lingfield last time, benefitting from the step back up to 6f after disappointing over 5f previously. Is 5lb higher here, which looks fair enough, and clearly he is lightly-raced and open to improvement.
16:00 Leicester - Bold Spirit
Has been running ok this season and the handicapper has given him a chance by dropping him to a mark of 70. First time blinkers may help, and 6f on decent ground should suit, so he has each way chances.

With the Galway Festival now firmly in the rear-view mirror, Kevin's attentions turn to the Group 1 card at the Curragh this afternoon and he has found a couple of fancies that he hopes will do the business...
Looking Back
Not a whole lot to look back on this week, as both my selections last Sunday both ran well below their best without obvious excuses for their underperformance.
Northern Rock has been a model of consistency around Galway over the years and everything looked to have come right for him in the Ahonoora Handicap, but he just didn't fire and produced a very tame response to pressure. Perhaps Dermot Weld's plan to run him twice during the week backfired, but for whatever reason, he just wasn't himself.
The second bet of the day came in the Galway Shopping Centre Handicap and while his wide draw was the big concern for Northern Surprise, I don't think it was the draw that beat him, he just didn't seem to spark on the day and never threatened to get seriously involved.
Going forward, deciding how to assess performances such as that of Northern Surprise can be difficult. It is never black and white, but personally I am often happy to forgive one poor run and go in again on horses such as him on their next start if conditions are suitable, as the market can often overreact to a poor run.
That said, in this particular case, I would have liked Northern Surprise to show just a little more to justify persevering with and even if conditions are suitable next time, I will be slightly reluctant to get involved barring his price being particularly generous.
This Week's Plays
The key variable for today's card at the Curragh is the change in ground. At declaration time, the ground was on the easy side of good with some rain forecast and now that the rain has arrived (don't be surprised if it turns out to be softer than the current official ground of yielding), there are a couple of horses that were declared in the hope of rain that make plenty of appeal.
The first play of the day comes in the Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes (16:35) and the selection is an old pal of this column, the David Marnane-trained Jamesie. He has run really well on the two occasions I have selected him and he looks to be the right price to warrant another bet in this.
This is a race that is crying out to have a bet in, as I'm happy to be against the favourite Maarek. The ground has come right for him, but I suspect he will need the run on his return from a break and he is plenty short with that in mind.
Very few of his main market rivals will be suited by the rain-softened ground, but Jamesie should get through it just fine. He remains in fine form and ran a lovely race at Tipperary on Friday evening. He didn't have a hard race there and this course and distance will suit him well. He is likely to be ridden quietly early and should be hitting the line hard. The race sets up well for a place bet and that is what I am recommending.
The main bet of the day comes in what is the most difficult race on the card, the Kerry Businesswomen's Network Handicap (17:05). While it looks fiercely competitive at first glance, the softening of the ground has made it a bit more straightforward, as appealing types such as Jayed Jidan, Akasaka, Hasanour and Shalamzar would all prefer a sounder surface.
There are two that are sure to relish the conditions, the Ado McGuinness-trained Beau Satchel and the Sheila Lavery-trained Gone Viral and with the former set to be sent off favourite, clear preference is for the latter.
Regular readers of this column will be familiar with Gone Viral, as I was very keen on him for a race at Listowel back in June, but the ground dried out and those that had backed him heavily were refunded as his connections withdrew him.
The reason I was so keen on him was that he got what I felt was a poorly-judged ride at Killarney back in May, making up ground much too early and hitting the front an awful long way out prior to weakening close home. With a more restrained ride, I feel he would have won well, so a 4lb rise for that effort is acceptable.
His connections have been waiting patiently for rain since then and while it has been a 13-week wait, the absence isn't unduly concerning as Sheila Lavery saddled Lady Ultra to go very close off the back of a similar absence earlier this week and Gone Viral has won when fresh in the past.
While some will be concerned by his draw, it won't be a problem, as the runners tend to come up the middle or even stand side when the ground is on the soft side at the Curragh.
All told, plenty looks to be in his favour and while my old pals the overnight price snafflers have ensured that the 12/1 that was available yesterday evening is long gone, he is still worth taking a chance on at the price.

Race 6 - 4:30pm THE BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT LEICESTER HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Natalia Gemelova, the rider of SKYFIRE, unplaced, from two and a half furlongs out. Having heard her evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found her in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that she used her whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended Gemelova for 2 days as follows: Sunday 24 and Monday 25 August 2014.
Race 7 - 5:00pm THE ROTHERBY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Connor Beasley, the rider of TIME FOR CRABBIES (IRE), unplaced, reported that the gelding hung right.

Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron is looking forward to an "exciting" afternoon at Wolverhampton on Monday as racing takes place on the track's freshly laid Tapeta surface for the first time.
It was announced at the end of April that Wolverhampton was replacing Polytrack with the synthetic surface invented by former Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Michael Dickinson.
Tapeta has been used at Meydan racecourse in Dubai and at various racecourses and training centres across the globe, but Monday's fixture at Dunstall Park will be the first time racing has taken place on the surface in Britain.
The surface drew praise following a trial earlier this week and Cameron is waiting to receive more feedback from jockeys and trainers tomorrow.
He said: "We're very much looking forward to staging the first race meeting to take place on Tapeta in the United Kingdom. It's exciting.
"Obviously it's very early days and we'll be expecting feedback from horsemen about how the surface rides tomorrow.
"We want to ensure we have a safe and sustainable surface going forward, so this is only the first step." ================================
Popular handicapper Brae Hill has been retired after picking up an injury.
Trained by Richard Fahey, the eight-year-old won the 2012 Lincoln under Tony Hamilton, beating Mull Of Killough by a short head.
Owned by Dr Marwan Koukash for the last four years, he also finished second in the 2011 Lincoln and third in the 2013 renewal and won the Bunbury Cup in 2011.
This March he won the Spring Mile, the Lincoln's consolation race on Town Moor, but he was last seen trailing home well beaten in the International Stakes at Ascot two weeks ago.
Koukash enjoyed a successful day on Saturday with wins for Rene Mathis at Newmarket, Ewell Place at Ayr and Our Gabrial at the Shergar Cup but they were tempered by the news of Brae Hill.
The owner tweeted on Saturday evening: "Three winners today, but unfortunately Brae Hill will not race again due to injury. He won some big races for me and deserves a good retirement." ===================================
Provenance is likely to be stepped up in class and distance on her next appearance after securing her third victory from four starts at Haydock Park on Saturday.
A daughter of talented racemare Echelon and a half-sister to Group One-winning Sir Michael Stoute stable companion Integral, Provenance has made an excellent start to her career with triumphs at Kempton and Sandown before her impressive display on Merseyside.
Chris Richardson, managing director for owners Cheveley Park Stud, is not getting carried away, but hopes she can continue to improve.
Richardson said: "It was certainly not the easiest of passages for Ryan (Moore), but I was delighted to see her pick up and show that bit of speed.
"She's a filly who has taken a lot of time to settle and sort herself out mentally and Sir Michael and his team have done a very good job.
"She's not as good as her sister, I know that, but she is progressing and hopefully she can progress into a nice black-type filly.
"I don't have a race in mind. We'll probably be looking at 10-furlong options.
"She's a filly we're looking forward to seeing race on next year and knowing how the family progress, we don't need to try and do too much too soon." ====================================
Flaming Spear is set to make the step up to Group Three level in the Pinsent Masons LLP Acomb Stakes at York later this month.
The Kevin Ryan-trained colt made quite a splash when running out a two-and-three-quarter-length winner of a maiden on the Knavesmire in July, earning quotes as low as 20-1 for next year's Qipco 2000 Guineas.
He will now step up in trip to seven furlongs in the August 20 event at York, with David Redvers, racing manager for part-owners Qatar Racing, pointing to the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 17 as the long-term aim.
"He will run in the Acomb Stakes at York," he said.
"The target for him is the Dewhurst in the autumn.
"He's in very good nick and has matured mentally and physically since his first outing.
"Jamie (Spencer) sat on him early last week and he was grinning afterwards." ===================================
German colt Sirius is on course for a clash with compatriot and leading Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hope Sea The Moon next month following his victory in the Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten racecourse.
The Andreas Lowe-trained son of Dashing Blade had been in contention to travel to York for the Great Voltigeur, but connections opted to stay at home and were rewarded with a Group One success.
Ridden by regular partner Stephen Hellyn, the three-year-old beat Freddie Tylicki's mount Berlin Berlin by half a length, with another length and a half back to Lucky Speed in third.
Lowe said: "I only supplemented him on Monday. I looked at his past performances and compared his races with this one and felt he deserved to run here. He had another option to run in a race at York, but we thought we would run here.
"He didn't run in the German Derby as he was still a bit green. He runs with blinkers. I will now run him in the Grosser Preis von Baden." =====================================
Star miler Kingman is set to test his credentials across the Channel in next weekend's Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.
The Irish 2,000 Guineas hero further bolstered his profile when following up his St James's Palace Stakes success with a clear-cut victory over the year-older Toronado in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
The John Gosden-trained colt will go in search of his fourth Group One win on the bounce, again over a mile.
Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said: "The way he's come out of his Goodwood race is very encouraging and we just want him to remain in good form until next weekend.
"Provided he does that, we are very much very looking forward to bringing him to Deauville for the Marois." ===============================
Pat Smullen rode a rare winner for trainer Tommy Stack as Scream Blue Murder claimed the Group Three Phoenix Sprint Stakes at the Curragh.
The four-year-old was a 20-1 shot having finished last of six runners on his latest visit to the track, but he quickened up well down the outside of the field to claim British raider Hamza inside the final furlong.
Jamesie finished off strongly towards the stands rail, but Scream Blue Murder had the race won by that stage and had plenty in hand at the line.
Maarek was all the rage for the six-furlong contest as the even-money favourite on his first appearance since chasing home the top-class Slade Power over this course and distance at the end of May, and on his favoured ground.
However, trainer Evanna McCutcheon warned beforehand her stable star could be in need of the run and that appeared to be the case as he faded tamely out of contention.
Stack's son and assistant Fozzy said: "That was a bit of a surprise, but she does like the ground. She toughed it out well.
"She's a Group Three winner now to go with her Listed win, so anything from now on is a bonus. She'll probably come back here for the Renaissance Stakes and we could look at the Flying Five. We'll probably draw stumps with her at the end of the season."
Jockey Fran Berry and trainer Andrew Oliver struck twice on the afternoon, with the pair combining to land the Loder EBF Fillies Race with shock all-the-way 50-1 winner Run The Red Light.
"She came on a heap from Galway. She holds an entry in the Debutante Stakes (August 24), so we'll have to see about that," said Oliver.
Berry completed his double aboard the Jessica Harrington-trained Port Merrion (5-1) in the Gabriel Curran Memorial Handicap, while Oliver was in the winner's enclosure again after Chris Hayes steered 16-1 chance No Dominion to a clear-cut victory in the Kerry Businesswomen's Network Handicap. ==================================
Gatewood had little trouble in landing the Group Three Prix de Reux at Deauville to make it a good day for the British raiders.
William Buick's mount tracked leader Swacadelic for much of the extended mile and a half journey before switching wide half a mile out, joining issue as the tempo increased two and a half furlongs from home.
Going nicely on from there, Buick never had to give his partner a serious reminder in stretching clear for an easy success by two lengths from Rio Tigre.
A crack at the Melbourne Cup is on the agenda for the six-year-old, who is part-owned by Australian-based OTI Racing.
Buick said: "He handles this ground better than most of them and he will be suited to Melbourne, as good ground is also fine. He travels very well and can go with that kick of his.
"It's really nice to have him back to where he was. In the race he was always going well, I managed to get a lead and was then able to kick on."
Gatewood's victory followed that of the Richard Fahey-trained Garswood in the Group One feature, the Prix Maurice de Gheest. ====================================
Garswood finally claimed the big prize he has often promised with victory in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
Partnered by Gerald Mosse over the rarely run trip of six and a half furlongs, the son of Dutch Art raced on the outside of the Group One field, tracking the well-touted Thawaany as Irish challenger Fiesolana took the 14 runners along.
It looked for a while as though Fiesolana might keep them all at bay, but she began to falter as Mosse produced Garswood to perfection around a furlong and a half out to get the better of a battle with Thawaany by half a length.
The runner-up, who was bidding to give Freddy Head another victory in a race he has made his own, had Fiesolana a length and a quarter away in third.
Winner of the Free Handicap last season and not unfancied in the 2000 Guineas won by Dawn Approach, where he was seventh, the Richard Fahey-trained Garswood has consistently kept top company.
He ran arguably a career-best when third to Moonlight Cloud in the seven-furlong Prix de la Foret at the end of the 2013 campaign and had been out of luck in four prior outings this year, albeit not without showing promise.
Fahey said: "It's just great to win a Group One with him as he is an absolute gentleman of a horse. A gentleman with a lot of ability, which is what you want.
"I can honestly say I've never trained a horse with a mind like his. He literally doesn't have a care in the world. He never sweats or plays up or anything like that. I could put my daughter on him.
"We tried him in the blinkers and the visor and while I wouldn't say they were a disadvantage, they weren't helping him, so we left everything off today.
"The only time the blinkers worked was when I used them first time in a piece of work. He worked like a Group One horse that day, but he doesn't need them. There's nothing wrong with his attitude, as he's shown today.
"The Prix de la Foret has been his main aim all year. He got beaten by a very good filly (Moonlight Cloud) in the race last year and it has to be high on the agenda again.
"He's in the Haydock race (Sprint Cup), so whether we stop off there on the way to France, we'll see."
Emma Armstrong, who owns Garswood with her husband David in partnership with Cheveley Park Stud, said: "We knew he had his ground and we knew he could do it today. In England he has been very frustrating, but in France he gets his conditions and he runs well."
Mosse added: "All the way I was going really well, and when I asked him to go at the 350-metre pole he just went and did it. He loved the soft ground and is a horse that never gives up."

Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron is looking forward to an "exciting" afternoon at Wolverhampton on Monday as racing takes place on the track's freshly laid Tapeta surface for the first time. "Obviously it's very early days and we'll be expecting feedback from horsemen about how the surface rides tomorrow. "We want to ensure we have a safe and sustainable surface going forward, so this is only the first step." A total of 57 runners have been declared to run on a seven-race card, including horses from leading stables such as John Gosden and Saeed Bin Suroor, who knows the Tapeta surface well from having had many runners at Meydan in the winter. Wolverhampton has a reputation for being something of a pioneer for British all-weather racing, having also been the first to introduce the use of floodlights at its track. Kate Hills, communications director at racecourse owners ARC, said that the group were keen to offer owners, trainers and jockeys a choice of racing surfaces across its tracks with Polytrack being retained at Lingfield and Fibresand remaining in use at Southwell. "ARC researched the surfaces preferred by UK trainers and found Polytrack and Tapeta to be equally popular," she said. "As the first Tapeta racecourse in this country, it gives trainers further choice as to what surface to run their horses on. All the trials have gone very well and we’ve received very positive feedback from the jockeys who took part. "ARC is proud to have bought Tapeta, a world-class synthetic racing surface, to Great Britain for the first time. This is a major multi-million pound project for ARC. "Along with the launch of the All-Weather Championships and bringing a much-needed all-weather track to the North at Newcastle, ARC is committed to long term investment in all-weather racing."

17:30 Monday 11th August Racing Tips - 11/08/2014
Art Scholar is well handicapped tomorrow at Ayr and were this decent ground he'd probably be worth a bet but the weather has ensured softish ground and that will suit others better. Hold The Line won here in a good time on quick last time but wants some cut and he looks a likely winner. I prefer the price of Las Verglas Star though who is well treated and relishes soft. The Chaloner/ Fahey combination were successful here on Saturday evening and this is the first time the horse encounters ground with some cut in it since his Chester win. He should have a nice pace to aim at from San Cassiano and Maracuja and he's a good bet at 12/1 given he was beaten just a short head on his sole course start (at this trip) a few years ago off 5lb higher. Ayr 17.30 - Las Verglas Star 1pt e/w
Perfect Cracker loves Windsor but he's likely to have a different sort of test this afternoon to that which saw him win twice. There is little pace on and the ground is softer, and this is an altogether tougher race. L'orfeo is of particular interest but 15/8 on UK handicap debut for Godolphin is risky and his French form is difficult to weigh up. I'd far rather back Hymenaios who has been given a little break after a poor effort last time. The ground will have been on the quick side, as connections suggested, at Salisbury and conditions will be much more suitable this afternoon. If back on song he'll go very close at 11/4. Windsor 19.40 - Hymenaios 1pt win

The Qipco Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown is among the options considered for Amralah following his impressive display at Haydock on Saturday.
Mick Channon's four-year-old was a surprise winner of the Listed Doom Bar Stakes at Newbury on his penultimate start, but proved that effort was no fluke with a dominant front-running display in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes under Joe Fanning.
Now he is a Group Three winner, connections are keen to test the water at a higher level before the season is out - but a sound surface is regarded as essential.
Ted Voute, racing manager for Amralah's owner, Prince Faisal, said: "Unfortunately myself and Mick (Channon) were stuck 30 miles away after the M6 was closed, but we were delighted to see him win.
"He was a big price (14-1) again and I was saying to Mick the press don't seem to like him and the majority of the betting public don't seem to like him, but the horse doesn't seem to mind.
"Joe gave him a great ride and is the eighth different jockey to ride him in 11 races. I don't know if that's a good thing or not as they'll all be learning how to beat him!
"The Prince is coming over to the UK on Thursday so we'll sit down with him and Mick and try and see and map out a route.
"He's in the Irish Champion Stakes, but we're keen to avoid soft ground.
"The Prince has mentioned the Canadian International as an option, which is a mile and a half, but every jockey that has ridden him has said he should stay.
"That takes place during the last weekend in October, I believe, and he'd be more likely to get his ground there than he would over here at that time of the year.
"The Prix Dollar at Longchamp is another obvious target, so we'll see where it all fits in and make a plan.
"Mick has always raved about him and said he's the best horse in his yard, so hopefully he can continue to improve." ======================================
Angel Gabrial could run in either the Betfred Ebor or the Lonsdale Cup at York next week.
Richard Fahey's Northumberland Plate winner, who also finished second in the Chester Cup in May, may carry a big weight in the headline race of the four-day festival on the Knavesmire, or again try his luck outside of handicap company.
The Dr Marwan Koukash-owned five-year-old could finish only fifth in the Goodwood Cup last time out but Fahey felt that was an unsatisfactory race and that he deserves another crack at a higher level.
"I'm not sure whether he'll run in the Ebor or the Lonsdale," the North Yorkshire handler told At The Races.
"He's fit as a flea. We'll certainly make an entry in the Lonsdale and make a decision closer to the time after I've spoken to Marwan.
"If you'd told me when he came to us we'd be deciding whether to run in the Ebor or the Lonsdale I'd have been shocked as he's a very unassuming horse.
"But I just felt the Gooodwood race was messy and he deserves another shot at a race like that.
"We'll see nearer the time when we've had a look at the entries." ===================================
Fergal Lynch is viewing the rest of his career as a "new era" after being allowed to ride back in Britain, although there was to be no fairytale visit to the winner's enclosure at Ayr on Monday.
The British Horseracing Authority last week lifted the restrictions placed on Lynch, who admitted stopping Bond City from winning at Ripon in August 2004.
He has been based in Ireland since being granted a licence by the Irish Turf Club in 2012, but returned to ride at the Scottish track aboard Mr Bounty, a horse owned by his father and trained by Michael O'Callaghan.
However, despite Mr Bounty being backed from 12-1 into 7-2 he could only finish fourth.
Lynch said: "It was a nice feeling when the stalls opened and it's good to be back.
"We hoped he'd run well, but we were a bit worried about the ground.
"I don't think there's any racing in Ireland on Saturday, so there might be something back here for me."
The race was won in impressive fashion by Jay Kay, the 2-1 favourite, who strolled home to win by eight lengths and give Karl Burke a double having already won the opener with Mystic And Artist (7-2).
Lynch will be assisting the BHA in its integrity courses, specifically helping with the education of young jockeys.
"My last ride here (in Britain) was at Beverley August 2008 just before I went to America," said Lynch.
"I'm delighted to be back, I never gave up and went to rebuild my career and it's good to be back.
"It's all been dealt with between myself and the BHA and there are a lot of positives to take out of the story like an integrity video for younger jockeys, helping them to move forward and prevent them making the same mistakes..
"I just hope now I can help young jockeys not to get into problems - I am ashamed of what I did and wish it never had happened.
"The plan is to take things week by week and whenever the chance is there to come over here to ride I will come over, but I am an Irish jockey, still based in Ireland.
"Plenty of trainers have offered me rides and it is very kind of them, but as I say, I will be based in Ireland.
"The BHA will be dealing with what plans we have in mind (working with racing colleges), running apprentice courses, making them aware of the downfalls of gambling.
"I don't want to dwell over these things every day, everything has been covered, this is a new era for me.
"I definitely want to come back to ride in England when the opportunities arrive. Nothing has changed much over here, a lot of the jockeys are a bit younger, but it's mostly the same jockeys and valets so there's not a lot different.
"Everything has been well documented, but every box has been ticked and I'm excited at being back. There have been some critics, but everyone is entitled to their opinion and if they say I shouldn't come back, that is up to them." =======================================
What About Carlo could skip the totepool Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury on Thursday in favour of a valuable handicap at Chester on Saturday.
Eve Johnson Houghton's colt has won two decent pots already this season, the Esher Cup at Sandown and one at Epsom on Derby day, sending his rating over 100.
However, due to the weight-for-age scale he is only due to carry 8st 7lb, which would effectively rule his regular partner Jimmy Fortune out of mount.
"As he's a three-year-old he's only got 8st 7lb to carry and that is proving a problem," said Johnson Houghton.
"It's something that needs looking at, surely, as it means I'm struggling for a jockey in a Group race.
"I'll have a look at it but he's also got an option in Deauville, which is looking unlikely as it's heavy ground.
"He's in the Celebration Mile but there's a £75,000 Handicap at Chester on Saturday (Stella Artois Handicap) and that might look the best option for now.
"He's a big horse and is improving with racing - I'm convinced he'll be even better next year.
"He gets very fresh at home if you don't run him so he needs a race."
======================================
The National Stakes at the Curragh and the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket are the Group One options under consideration for Cappella Sansevero following his excellent effort in the Phoenix Stakes.
The Ger Lyons-trained juvenile won his first three starts before finding only The Wow Signal too strong in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, after which Lyons blamed himself for his star youngster's disappointing effort in the Railway Stakes just 11 days later.
The Showcasing colt showed his true colours on his Group One debut at the Curragh on Sunday, beaten just half a length and a short head into third by Dick Whittington and Kool Kompany.
Lyons said: "I wasn't surprised at all by his run. For some reason, he wasn't given the benefit of the doubt after his run in the Railway. He showed what a good horse he is when he ran in the Coventry.
"I've had a plan with him all the way through the year and for some reason I deviated from the plan when I ran him in the Railway. It was ridiculous to run him back so quickly after Ascot and I was disgusted with myself afterwards.
"I knew I had him where I wanted on Sunday. I wasn't happy when the rain came, but he's such an honest horse I knew he'd go through it. He hated the ground and pulled up when he hit the front, but he was back in front five strides after the line.
"I'm sure there's more improvement in him and because he's a horse that travels so well in his races, he would benefit from getting a lead for a bit longer to give him something to aim at.
"The Middle Park (October 17) has always been part of the long-term plan.
"Everything we've seen is also suggesting he should get seven furlongs, so maybe running in the National Stakes (September 14), getting a lead, could also come into the picture.
"It depends whether we want to stick to six furlongs for this year or not, so we'll speak to Sheikh Fahad (owner) and then make a decision." =========================================
Kool Kompany is likely to be given another chance to grasp Group One glory before the season is out after passing up what appeared a gilt-edged opportunity in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Following the withdrawal of Anthem Alexander, Richard Hannon's prolific colt was an odds-on favourite to strike at the highest level for the first time, but had to make do with the runner-up spot behind Dick Whittington.
Tim Palin, racing manager for owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "It's always disappointing when you're beaten at odds-on.
"We took the brave route by supplementing him for a Group One and everything looked in place, but unfortunately it didn't come off on the day.
"He was only beaten half a length and ran a gallant race in defeat, so we shouldn't be too despondent."
Kool Kompany is now likely to have his sights lowered on his next appearance before stepping back up to Group One level in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on October 17.
Palin said: "I think the first three from Sunday are all Group One colts, of a fashion.
"Maybe they're not sexy horses, but they all deserve another go at that level and I think we can aim towards the Middle Park as our end-of-season target.
"He will have another run before then, I would have thought.
"He could go for the big sales race at Doncaster on September 11, or we could go for the Mill Reef at Newbury (September 20) with a Group Two penalty.
"I'm not saying he will definitely win a Group One, but he deserves another chance at that level now.
"Going forward, I'm not sure he's going to be a miler, but he could be a seven-furlong horse in time.
"Looking to next year, races like the Greenham and the Jersey spring to mind, and maybe even the Prix Maurice de Gheest over six and a half furlongs in a year's time." ==========================================
Investec Derby runner-up Kingston Hill is the star name among 19 horses entered for Saturday's Betfred TV Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury.
Last year's Racing Post Trophy hero disappointed on his seasonal reappearance in the 2000 Guineas, but found only Australia too strong at Epsom and has since performed well when fourth in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.
Although Roger Varian has been targeting a trip to York next week for either the Juddmonte International or the Great Voltigeur Stakes, the trainer has given his star colt an entry in this weekend's Group Three contest to keep his options open.
Varian said: "We gave Kingston Hill a short break after Sandown and he looks great for it. He is a high-class colt and I think he is set for a good autumn.
"The plan since Sandown has been to head to York. If we looked like getting a soft-ground Juddmonte International, he could go there. If the ground is good, we would more likely head to the Great Voltigeur over a mile and a half.
"He also has an entry this weekend at Newbury in the Geoffrey Freer and it is a case of watching the weather and taking a look at all the options."
Mark Johnston has Ladbrokes St Leger possibles Hartnell and Somewhat in contention for the Newbury race, while Richard Hannon could saddle Glorious Goodwood winner Pether's Moon.
Sir Michael Stoute's Kings Fete, James Fanshawe's Group One-winning mare Seal Of Approval and the David Simcock-trained York Stakes winner Sheikhzayedroad also feature in an interesting renewal. ===================================
The number of horses from the stables already caught up in the morphine controversy has risen to eight, said the British Horseracing Authority, with the completion of an initial stage of inquiry suggesting contaminated feed as the source of the positives.
Seven horses had been reported to have tested positive for the banned substance, the highest profile of which being Estimate, but that figure has now grown.
A statement issued by the BHA read: "Further to the already reported seven samples testing positive for morphine, BHA can confirm an additional finding from within one of the yards that has already produced a positive."
The statement went on: "Once the outstanding 'B' sample analysis is complete, BHA will be able to confirm the identities of all the horses whose samples returned positive results."
Sir Michael Stoute confirmed that Estimate and stablemate Russian Realm had shown traces of the drug, while Tony Carroll, Eve Johnson Houghton, Gay Kelleway and Charlie Hills have also said they train horses which had returned positives.
The BHA said that , with the exception of one case, the circumstances about which the positive samples were found were very similar and " point to the source of the positive test being contaminated horse feed".
Racing's rulers said t he other case was still likely to be linked with contaminated feed, but that there was a "difference in the circumstances" to the rest.
To that end, all but one of the cases will collectively be heard by a disciplinary panel of the BHA. T he other case will be heard separately.
The BHA said: "Investigations have established that in all but one of the cases the circumstances are very similar and point to the source of the positive test being contaminated horse feed.
"The intention is for all these cases to be heard together by the disciplinary panel.
"In the other case, involving a yard which is responsible for only one positive sample, while the evidence is also suggestive of contaminated feed, differences in the circumstances mean that the case will be heard separately.
"Upon receipt of the results of the counter-analysis on two outstanding 'B' samples, as requested by connections of horses concerned, the process of identifying potential dates for the disciplinary panel hearings will get under way."
Should the BHA disciplinary panel find that the source of the positives was contaminated feed, sanctions against those trainers involved will not occur - assuming they have "taken all reasonable precautions to safeguard against a positive test".
The horses will, however, be disqualified from the races in which post-race samples were taken.
That could mean that connections of Estimate, owned by the Queen, could have to forfeit £80,625 in prize-money for finishing second in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on June 19.
With the source of the drug thought to be a batch of contaminated feed, suppliers Dodson & Horrell said last month it had undertaken a full investigation into the case . =====================================
Exciting juvenile Belardo could aim to get back on the winning trail in the Denford Stud Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
Roger Varian's two-year-old made a big impression when making a winning start to his career at Yarmouth at the end of June and was far from disgraced in finishing fourth behind leading juvenile Ivawood in Newmarket's July Stakes last time.
Belardo is set to drop in class for this weekend's Listed contest, better known as the Washington Singer, with connections hoping to use the race as a stepping-stone to bigger targets towards the end of the campaign.
Ted Voute, racing manager for owner Prince Faisal, said: "He worked on Friday and I spoke to Roger on Saturday and we're aiming towards the Washington Singer, but we'll keeping an eye on the weather.
"Hopefully they get good racing ground and we're looking forward to seeing him in action again.
"He has entries in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, the big two-year-old race at Redcar (Totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy) and the Dewhurst at Newmarket later in the year, so we'll see how he gets on next time and then make a plan."
Belardo is one of 12 horses in contention for the weekend.
Sylvester Kirk has Carry On Deryck and Percy Veer engaged, while Mark Johnston has entered Chadic and Diaz.
Nafaqa is a major contender for Barry Hills having finished fourth on his debut in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot before getting off the mark at Newbury.
Charlie Appleby's Godolphin runner Hawkesbury is another potential starter.

Roger Varian is planning to send a strong team to next week's Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival, which gets underway on Wednesday week. Kingston Hill (right): Will be given two entries at York Among them could be Racing Post Trophy winner Kingston Hill, who the Newmarket-based trainer will confirm for both the £800,000 Group One Juddmonte International Stakes and the £150,000 Group 2 Neptune Investment Management Great Voltigeur Stakes. Both races are scheduled for the opening day of the four-day fixture. The Paul Smith-owned Mastercraftsman colt chased home Australia in the Epsom Derby before finishing fourth in the Coral Eclipse when last seen on a racecourse. Varian said: “We gave Kingston Hill a short break after Sandown and he looks great for it. He is a high-class colt and I think he is set for a good autumn. “The plan since Sandown has been to head to York. If we looked like getting a soft-ground Juddmonte International, he could go there. If the ground is good, we would more likely head to the Great Voltigeur over a mile and a half. “He also has an entry this weekend at Newbury in the Geoffrey Freer and it is a case of watching the weather and taking a look at all the options.” Unbeaten Albany Stakes winner Cursory Glance could be heading to the £150,000 Group 2 Pinsent Masons Lowther Stakes, on Thursday, August 21 for juvenile fillies over six furlongs. The daughter of Distorted Humor put up a most impressive display at Royal Ascot and the form has since been boosted by the runner-up Sunset Glow winning a Grade 2 in America and also the fifth-placed Osaila taking the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot. Varian added: “Cursory Glance has been working very well and her Albany Stakes victory remains one of the strongest pieces of form in 2014 for two-year-old fillies. “The Lowther Stakes looks a good option for her although I wouldn’t run her on soft ground. She is also entered in the Debutante Stakes at The Curragh, which could be an alternative if the ground goes against us at York.” Ambivalent struck at the Dante Festival when taking the Group 2 Betfred Middleton Stakes and she could be in for a return to the Knavesmire for a tilt at the £330,000 Group One Darley Yorkshire Oaks. She was last seen in late June when fourth of eight in the Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh. “Ambivalent ran a little flat in the Irish Pretty Polly and we gave her a short break after that.” Varian said. “She looks in great shape and we would like to give her a run in Europe before targeting an international campaign this autumn. York Preview Evening featuring Richard Fahey, David O'Meara - only £10 “She is versatile regarding ground and has top-class form over ten and twelve furlongs. The Yorkshire Oaks would be a good spot for her – the track suits her. However, giving weight to Taghrooda is no easy task and we shall also look at the Prix Jean-Romanet which is restricted to four-year-old and upwards.” Steps holds an entry in Friday, August 22's Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes. The son of Verglas, now six, has been as good as ever this year, winning a Listed race at Haydock and also finishing a close-up sixth in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. Varian added: “Steps has been better than ever this year and I think, when everything falls right for him, he is capable of winning a big one. “A fast five furlongs suits him well but he really needs some ease in the ground to be at his best. If the ground comes up on the easy side at York, we’ll let him take his chance.” Farraaj put up a terrific weight-carrying performance under 9st 11lb to win the John Smith’s Cup on the Knavesmire in early July. The son of Dubai Destination is pencilled in for a tilt at Saturday, August 23's Betfred Strensall Stakes over nine furlongs. Varian said: “I was very impressed by Farraaj in the John Smith’s Cup. He was drawn in stall 22 and carried 9st 11lb but still managed to win well. “He benefited from racing handily that day but I believe he too is a better horse coming off a strong pace, which was the case when he won at Epsom and in last year’s Winter Derby. “He is a gelding who loves fast ground, so we shall probably look to go abroad with him later in the season. If the ground is quick, the Strensall Stakes is an option for him but he will also get an entry in the Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor on the same day (Saturday, August 23). They are at different ends of the country so hopefully he’ll get his ground somewhere.” This is just Varian’s fourth season with a training licence but he has already plundered some of the track’s biggest prizes. In addition to this year’s victories in the Betfred Middleton Stakes and the John Smith’s Cup, he also won last year’s Rockingham Stakes with Mushir and the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes with Sri Putra in 2012. Varian said: “York is a great place to have runners and to take owners. This is a meeting we like to target and I think this is the strongest team we have assembled for it so far.”

Richard Fahey's tough-as-teak Angel Gabrial could run in either the Betfred Ebor or the Lonsdale Cup at York next week. Angel Gabrial wins the Northumberland Plate earlier this season. "We'll see nearer the time when we've had a look at the entries."

19:50 Tuesday 12th August Racing Tips - 12/08/2014
Zipp was well backed for her Ralph Beckett debut over course and distance but disappointed and this is tougher. That will put many off backing her but the yard are flying at the moment and the fact that we've not seen her since, in some 3 months, suggests all was not well. The Post report of the race says she may be in the grip of the handicapper but I don't buy that. She was beaten a short head behind a subsequent winner off 1lb lower at the back end of last term and she can go close off this mark. Hopefully Defecit will go forward as she will want a test and as Late Shipment will be a danger if allowed to dominate. Some rain would be welcomed too and 5/1 is on the generous side. Nottingham 18.55 - Zipp 1pt win
Two look sufficiently overpriced in the Listed sprint and I can't split them. Duke Of Firenze makes his debut for sprint training maestro Robert Cowell and he may just appreciate a little cut on his return to 5 furlongs. Rated 100, he's no 9/1 shot given who now trains him. Dungannon was to be the sole selection at 14/1 but I'm a little worried about his draw. Magical Macey and Judge 'N Jury are likely to fight it out to bag the rail and will dictate the pace, and Taurus Twins may try and get over, as is his want here, from stall 6. Dungannon comes out of 1 and that's not ideal but his last win came over 6 on soft ground and if it's holding over this 5, he can get competitive on his first run away from handicaps in over 4 years. Nottingham 19.25 -Dungannon 1pt e/w Nottingham 19.25 - Duke Of Firenze 1pt e/w
I'm not sure we'll see a stands rail battle in the next 5 furlong race and it could pay to be drawn a little lower with pace out of stalls 2 and 3, though 5 and 7 may also add to that. Either way, Oscars Journey looks to have a decent shot at this out of 1 if getting a good tow into it and he will love a little cut. 2 of his best runs have come over course and distance, winning once and running a great race on reappearance this term off 4lb higher after nearly a year off. This is tougher but he's worth chancing at 12/1. The yard look short of form on the face of it with only 1 winner in each of the last few months but the July success came at the very end of the month and they sent out another a few days ago. Backstage Gossip and Cardinal make up the shortlist. Nottingham 19.55 - Oscars Journey 1pt e/w

Disgraced rider Fran Ferris has had an application for a Flat jockey's licence refused by the British Horseracing Authority.
Ferris, who was warned off for five years in April 2007 after being found guilty of stopping horses and passing information for reward, was not considered "a suitable person" by racing's rulers.
He also lost his driving licence for three years in 2009 due to drink driving.
A promising apprentice, Ferris rode a total of 140 winners from 1783 rides, but his career from 2001 to 2006 was riddled with disciplinary issues.
He was the subject of seven disciplinary committee hearings at BHA headquarters in respect of various breaches of the rules of racing and attended four meetings with the licensing committee at various times.. ==================================
Just The Judge is settling in to her temporary surroundings in Chicago ahead of her run in the Beverly D at Arlington on Saturday.
Last year's Irish 1,000 Guineas winner is without a win since the Curragh Classic but her two most recent performances behind Thistle Bird have hinted at a return to form.
Jamie Spencer is due to arrive in America on Wednesday, along with trainer Charlie Hills, and Spencer will be on board for gentle exercise on Thursday morning when she emerges from quarantine.
Hills' website reported: " Travelling Head Lad Geoff Snook and assistant trainer Joe Herbert, the team who took Chriselliam to the Breeders Cup, travelled over with her and were very pleased with the way she took the flight.
"The race has been the target for a while now and we're looking forward to her running. She seemed to really enjoy the change of scenery both times she went to Ireland and hopefully it will be the same again." =====================================
Muraaqaba could be saved for a tilt at the Dubai Fillies' Mile in October following her impressive display in Saturday's Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.
Mark Johnston's Dubawi filly made an impressive debut on the July course at the end of June and having finished a creditable fourth in Ascot's Princess Margaret Stakes, she took the step up to seven furlongs in her stride in last weekend's Group Three.
Connections feel the youngster has done enough to earn a step up to Group One company and Newmarket on October 17 could be her next objective.
Johnston's son and assistant Charlie told At The Races: "Muraaqaba was fantastic. She's a really exciting filly for the rest of the year and next year and long may it continue.
"I think probably the Fillies' Mile (will be her target). It's the thick end of two months away, but she's proven her ability and is ready for a step up to Group One level.
"Sheikh Hamdan was quite specific that he didn't want her to have too many runs at two. We've had three runs now, she's got a bit of experience, so we'll step her up to the top level and see if she's good enough." =====================================
Owner-breeder Philippa Cooper admits she is still pinching herself following Sultanina's brilliant victory in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
The daughter of New Approach did not make her racecourse debut until winning at Salisbury in mid-May, but has made superb progress in less than three months and now has a Group One triumph to her name.
Cooper, who owns and runs the successful Normandie Stud operation in West Sussex, has had three individual Group One winners, with Fallen For You landing the 2012 Coronation Stakes and Duncan dead-heating in the 2011 Irish St Leger.
"I'm still a little bit overwhelmed by it all and it's almost as though it's happening to someone else," she said.
"It's fantastic for all the team at Normandie and for the filly to do what she has done as a four-year-old in basically 10 weeks is really unbelievable.
"I said from an early stage I thought she was the best filly we'd bred at Normandie. There was just something about her way and her stride.
"She had a lot of trouble with sore shins last year and I think John was ready to draw stumps, but I have so much faith in the filly I begged him to keep trying with her and we brought her back as an unraced four-year-old.
"When she ran on her debut at Salisbury, I told William Buick I had a lot of faith in her, but she was so bad for most of the race. I thought it was going to be a total embarrassment, but in the last furlong she picked up.
"She then won the Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock and I felt the tactics were wrong when she was second in the Lancashire Oaks. She was still inexperienced and raced much too free and ended up being a pacemaker.
"I wasn't worried about her racing on faster ground at Goodwood as although I named her mother Soft Centre, she actually only went on top of the ground.
"My only worry was that she'd had sore shins in the past, but the trainer has been patient and those problems appear to be behind her."
Gosden immediately identified the British Champions Fillies And Mares Stakes at Ascot on October 18 as the likely end-of-season target for Sultanina, but Cooper has raised the possibility of her running in France beforehand.
Cooper has, however, categorically ruled out a trip to the Breeders' Cup at the end of the year.
"She came out of the Goodwood race really well. John said her shins were as cold as ice the next day," said Cooper.
"I'm not quite sure where she'll go next. She definitely won't be running in the Yorkshire Oaks next week, but there are options in France, so I suspect that's where she'll make her next appearance.
"I don't know if she needs to (run before Ascot). I'll leave that to John.
"I won't interfere and I'll be leaving the race planning to John, but she definitely won't be running in America.
"I'm very much anti-drugs, I don't agree with running horses on Lasix and for that reason running in America doesn't interest me."
Cooper is in no rush to decide whether Sultanina will stay in training as a five-year-old, saying : "She has only had the one year, so it's a possibility, but it's not something I will make a snap decision about.
"I think it's something I will consider over the winter." ========================================
William Buick was stood down for the rest of the evening at Lingfield on Tuesday after he suffered a nasty-looking fall in the opening seven-furlong maiden.
Buick has reportedly escaped relatively unscathed from the incident, but he will not take up his other remaining rides on the card.
Wentworth Falls, a Godolpin newcomer, had been overtaken by eventual winner Indianaughty when his mount jinked right shortly after passing the one-furlong marker.
Buick shot out of the saddle and fell awkwardly, but he was quickly back up to his feet and escorted off the racecourse.
Lingfield clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross said: "He's up and about and was back in the medical room.
"He was stood down for the rest of the day, but it seems to just be precaution and he's not gone to hospital." ==========================================
Saeed bin Suroor is delighted to have Albasharah back on the racecourse after an absence of over a year in the EBF Stallions Upavon Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury on Wednesday.
Though Bin Suroor expects the five-year-old mare to need the outing, the Godolphin trainer feels she should put up a good show in this Listed contest.
Albasharah suffered an injury when she reared upon leaving the stalls and unseated Kieren Fallon in the Lyric Stakes at York last July.
A big run had looked likely on the Knavesmire as she had finished a close third to Emirates Queen in the Group Two Lancashire Oaks on her previous start.
"She's doing well and is working nicely. This is the right race for her," he said.
"She had a problem last year at York in the stalls. She has recovered from the injury she had there and now she is in good form and we expect a good run from her.
"I think she will need the race and she will improve for it."
Godolphin are also represented by the Charlie Appleby-trained Tearless.
The four-year-old daughter of Street Cry only made her racecourse debut in June, but has made a promising start to her career, winning both her starts at Goodwood and over this course and distance.
"She's won her only two starts and progressed from her first to her second run and looks to have come out of her last race well," said Appleby.
"She acted on this track and we're hopeful she can run another competitive race.
"She had a few setbacks as a three-year-old so she didn't run. It was very pleasing when she won her maiden and she's a filly we've had lots of faith in.
"We then stepped her up and she won a handicap at Salisbury. She carried top weight that day and won nicely.
"We were looking to run her at York but the ground went against her. She's a Street Cry filly that wants a sound surface.
"The way the weather is we will be on weather watch, but it looks like it's going to be good ground down there, hopefully.
"She has no trouble with this distance and in time she'll probably go up in trip."
Other promising fillies in a warm-looking contest include the William Haggas-trained My Spirit, who has won all her three starts, Luca Cumani's progressive Kleo and Richard Hannon's Lustrous, highly tried in two Group Ones after finishing second in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. =======================================
Trainer David Evans is still targeting next week's Lowther Stakes at York for Patience Alexander, despite being at a loss to explain her disappointing showing at Haydock on Saturday.
The Kodiac filly got the better of high-class juvenile Tiggy Wiggy at York earlier in the year and ran creditably in defeat when third in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.
She was unsurprisingly a hot favourite for her nursery debut on Merseyside, despite conceding weight all round, but inexplicably weakened out of contention to finish last of four runners.
Evans said: "She seems fine and I don't know what happened on Saturday.
"Maybe the pace of the race was too slow for her, but it was a very disappointing run.
"She was in season the week before when she was due to run in the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood, but she wasn't in season on Saturday. Maybe she'd have run better if she was.
"All being well, she'll still go to York for the Lowther.
"I'm not sure six (furlongs) is her trip, but the Lowther is the target." ===================================
Music Master delighted connections in his latest workout ahead of the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday week.
The four-year-old colt, whose sire, Piccolo, was controversially awarded this big sprint in 1994 following the disqualification of Blue Siren, has yet to run over five furlongs but has shown plenty of speed in top company over six.
An unlucky fourth behind Slade Power in the Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot, when he raced on the unfavoured stands' side, Music Master gained some compensation by winning the Group Three Hackwood Stakes at Newbury last month.
"The Nunthorpe is the plan for Music Master," said Candy.
"I am very happy with him. He galloped (on Tuesday morning) and probably will have to do one more piece of work because he is quite a big, burly boy now.
"At the moment, it's all systems go."
Candy plans to unleash another of his stable stars at the Ebor Festival, with the unbeaten Limato on course for the Group Two Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes on Saturday week.
After two wins on the Kempton Polytrack, Limato lifted the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury in smart fashion on his latest outing.
"I've been very pleased with his progress - he seems to be going the right way. He is rated 111 and that is fair enough," said the Wantage trainer. ======================================
Telescope could get a second chance of lifting a Group One in the £800,000 Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday week.
The talented four-year-old, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, will have a workout this Wednesday morning, but seems poised to drop back in trip on the Knavesmire.
The dual Group Two winner over a mile and a half was swept aside by the brilliant filly Taghrooda in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last month on his first attempt at the highest level.
"It was a really good performance but, as they say, hats off to a brilliant filly who beat us," said Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
"I think the likelihood is that he will run at York. We are hoping that will be the case.
"We want to look at everything - ground, opposition, so we are not on the, 'Yes, he will run', but we are not far off that.
"The horse is in very good form. Sir Michael wants to see his well-being this week, how he works and look at the weather forecast - we don't want to run him on soft ground.
"A decision will be made later in the week."
Race sponsor Khalid Abdullah has two potential runners in the prestigious mile-and-a-quarter to Group One, though neither is certain to line up.
The John Gosden-trained Remote is a half-brother to esteemed stable companion Kingman, but has been sidelined since winning at Royal Ascot in June of last year and faces a race against time to be fit.
Noble Mission, a full-brother to Frankel, has been one of the success stories of the season for Lady Cecil, but some ease in the ground appears essential for him to show his best.
Khalid Abdullah's racing manager, Teddy Grimthorpe, said: We're just looking at it, but we're slightly run out of time with him (Remote). I'll speak talk to John this week and see where we are.
"Hopefully we might get him there, but it's going to be touch and go.
"Noble Mission is entered in the race as well, so we'll have a look at the weather forecast nearer the time and take a view."

Telescope is under serious consideration for the £800,000 Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday week. Telescope: All set to run in the Juddmonte International at York The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old, who finished second to Taghrooda in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last month, will work in Newmarket on Wednesday. That gallop along with a weather watch are set to be among the factors in the decision-making progress as to whether or not Telescope participates in York’s richest race ever. Highclere’s Harry Herbert confirmed: “I think the likelihood is that he will run. We are hoping that will be the case. We want to look at everything – ground, opposition, so we are not on the, ‘Yes, he will run’, but we are not far off that. “The horse is in very good form. He will be working on Wednesday morning. Sir Michael wants to see his wellbeing this week, how he works and look at the weather forecast – we don’t want to run him on soft ground. And a decision will be made later in the week.” Telescope was an impressive winner at last year’s Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival, landing the Neptune Investment Management Great Voltigeur Stakes. The highlight of his 2014 season so far came with a superb seven-length success in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot. Herbert was pleased, too, with how the son of Galileo ran in the King George but shared an intriguing insight from his jockey Ryan Moore. Herbert said: “It was a really good performance but, as they say, hats off to a brilliant filly who beat us. “But I think Ryan felt that he (Telescope) just possibly wasn’t quite as good as he’d been at Royal Ascot – as far as the feel that he gave Ryan. It was a muggy day and he just got a little warm beforehand. I don’t know whether that affected him but it’s interesting to hear what jockeys say. “Potentially I think we all think there could be more to come from the horse, but that was still a wonderful performance. Now that he is fully fit and on the right ground we are seeing the real Telescope, which is exciting.”

Trainer Pat Fahy is keeping his fingers crossed one-time Classic hope Ballybacka Queen can get her season back on track in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park on Wednesday evening. Alive Alive Oh: Set to run on Wednesday The daughter of Hurricane Run showed quality form as a two-year-old and made a highly encouraging reappearance when third in the 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown in early May. However, she was well beaten in the Irish Guineas itself and has since finished down the field in the Irish Oaks and at the Galway Festival. Fahy said: "I think they're having plenty of rain in Gowran and there should be a good ease in the ground, which is what she wants. "The ground was very quick when she ran in the Irish Oaks and she wouldn't let herself down on it all. The ground was quick enough and she had a bad draw in Galway the last day and she just didn't fire at all. "We'll just have to wait and see how she performs tomorrow, but I'm hoping she'll look more like herself. "She's fit and well and I don't think there'll be any excuses." Ballybacka Queen features in a 15-runner field, with Aidan O'Brien saddling Beyond Brilliance, Dance With Another, Just Gorgeous, Shell House and Sparrow. Dermot Weld has a couple of contenders in Carla Bianca and I'm Yours. The Tommy Stack-trained Alive Alive Oh, Thomas Cleary's runaway Sligo winner Queen Of Alba and Cosmic Cannonball from Jim Bolger's yard also line up.

15:35 Wednesday 13th August Racing Tips - 13/08/2014
Noodles Blue Boy has the rail tomorrow but he's a dubious favourite at Beverley and I want to take him on. Bosham and Manatee Bay are the ones to side with but the latter is far and away pick of the prices at 10/1. He was beaten 41 lengths last time due to blowing the start and we'll know within 2 seconds of this race whether he has a shot. He also unseated at the start 3 runs ago so he's a risk but his run over course and distance on penultimate start gives him every chance and the softer ground is a big plus. Add to that Dandy Nicholls returning to form and he's a must bet. Beverley 15.35 - Manatee Bay 1pt e/w
I've been guilty of trying to beat the draw of late and it's nonsense. So I'll side with it today and have a good go at Zaitsev at 3/1 from stall 5. He will go forward and try and make all up the rail and, as long as those behind stick to normal tactics, he'll not be caught. Scrutiny is interesting for the lethal team of O'Meara and James but the selection will be allowed to dictate and he is a course and distance winner on similar ground. He went off too hard last time but today should be very different with just the 6 runners in a claimer. Al Muheer has blinkers back on and will threaten but may be doing his best work too late. Beverley 14.00 - Zaitsev 2pt win
