Barry Geraghty will partner At Fishers Cross when he makes his seasonal reappearance in the bet365 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on Saturday. At Fishers Cross: Set for new partner at Newbury The Rebecca Curtis-trained six-year-old was a brilliant winner of Grade One prizes at Cheltenham and Aintree in the spring, but his comeback was delayed after he missed an intended run at Wetherby at the start of the month with a cut leg. At Fishers Cross is now ready for his return, but he will have a new jockey as regular partner Tony McCoy instead heads to Newcastle to ride My Tent Or Yours in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle. At Fishers Cross and My Tent Or Yours carry the colours of leading owner JP McManus, whose racing manager, Frank Berry, said: "Barry will ride At Fishers Cross as AP (McCoy) is going to Newcastle. As far as I know, both horses are in good form." Curtis said: "He's definitely running on Saturday, all being well, and he's in really good form. We're looking forward to getting him started again." The Long Distance Hurdle has been reopened until Tuesday.

Owner Andy Stewart has been told Big Buck's could be better than ever ahead of his return from injury later this season. Big Buck's: Reportedly pleasing ahead of January return Paul Nicholls' four-times World Hurdle winner bolted up in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury almost a year ago, but missed the rest of the campaign. The 10-year-old is likely to make his eagerly-awaited comeback in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham in January before aiming to win back his World Hurdle crown at the Festival in March. "He's ever so well. Clifford Baker (Nicholls' head lad) thinks he could not only be as good as he was this time last year, but perhaps even better," Stewart told At The Races. "Of course I don't really believe that, but you'll be seeing him in January. "If he goes to the Cleeve, the World Hurdle and the Liverpool Hurdle, those will be the only three races he's going to partake in."

Trainer Charlie Longsdon: PENDRA " “The race looks a shocker and I’m sure he will be a ridiculously bad price. If he jumps round it should be a good session and that’s what we’re looking for – a nice, clear round. DAILY MAIL.
Stuart Coltherd has his select string in good form and Overlaw (Sedgefield, nap, 2.50) could provide the Borders handler with his third winner in a week on Tuesday.
The 11-year-old is hardly a winning machine, but two outings at Sedgefield have resulted in an agonising nose defeat and a creditable second to Sleep In First who proceeded to win four of his next six starts.
A recent blow out at Kelso, where the selection was keen and looked to need to run, should have tightened him up physically for this afternoon’s test and he could be a fair bet in an open race. In with a chance: Overlaw, here ridden by Paddy Brennan, could emerge victorious at Sedgefield on Tuesday
Christine Dunnett recorded a double at Dunstall Park yesterday so College Doll (Wolverhampton, 3.50) and Gives Us A Belle (Wolverhampton, nb, 4.20) are both worth a second look.
The latter appeared to win with something in hand and could be a fair bet to go in again under a penalty.
Challenger: Insolenceofoffice (front) will be worth watching in the 3.40 at Southwell
College Doll is a little harder to fancy but she did run well here in a reasonable time over course and distance back in September.
Any money for Insolenceofoffice (Southwell, 3.40) should be noted as the five-year-old’s yard can ready a handicapper after an absence and the son of Kodiac already boasts a smooth win at the track in a fast time.

14:40 Tuesday 26th November Racing Tips - 26/11/2013
Southwell hosts some very mediocre handicaps today - perfect to have a go at if you like that sort of thing on the all weather, which I don't really. Division I of the Class 6, 6 furlong contest sees Captan Scooby line up off an interesting mark at 12/1. I put him up at Kempton when 3rd at a price a few stars ago, and he now lines up off 2lb lower in a lesser grade. The concern is that he seems to want a decent gallop to chase but, the older he gets, the less able he is to go with them. His sole win over this trip came off a very strong gallop at Kempton but he has gone well here before and been a little luckless in running. A sharp 6 here should suit and he will finish well of a likely strong pace in the capable hands of Joe Fanning for the first time. Caramelita is the likely winner if they do go quick, though Amenable is the better treated of the 2 after their recent course and distance battle. However, the latter could do with them going a little more moderately up top and this could be fierce. Southwell 15.10 - Captain Scooby 1pt e/w
The 12 furlong contest is a better one than most on the card and Ever Fortune could be a fair bit better than his current mark, especially on frost start for Brian Ellison. The yard is very good with new acquisitions and this 4 year old is unexposed at the trip. His US pedigree stands him in good stead for a fibresand debut and on the basis of his 2nd to the progressive Xinbama at Epsom over 2 furlongs shorter, he has every chance today off the same mark. I was hoping he'd be a bit bigger than 5/1 but he's still the best bet of the race. If Northside Prince can regain any sort of form then he is well treated. Golden Jubilee is likely to be popular and rightly so on the basis of his win last time out after some frustrating 2nds. However, he looks vulnerable at 2/1 now up in class and with a few other potentially well treated youngsters. The one that looks really overpriced is Bavarian Nordic but, equally, it's hard to see him making the required improvement to win after a simply respectable recent course and distance effort off just 1lb higher. Southwell 14.40 - Ever Fortune 1pt e/w

At Fishers Cross will face a maximum of eight rivals in Saturday's bet365 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury after the race was reopened. At Fishers Cross: Faces eight possible rivals The Rebecca Curtis-trained six-year-old is the heir to staying throne of Big Buck's for many after winning at Cheltenham and Aintree last spring. With Tony McCoy in action at Newcastle riding My Tent Or Yours in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, Barry Geraghty will come in for the plum mount. Speaking to At The Races, Geraghty said: "I think Rebecca Curtis has done a great job with him, last year he went from strength to strength. "His form reads great, he beat The New One and African Gold and then he showed he was as able on better ground as he did it at Aintree." Paul Nicholls has two strings to his bow in an attempt to keep the title at his Ditcheat yard having won it for the last four years with Big Buck's. Celestial Halo runs in the same Andy Stewart colours while Salubrious would be stepping up from handicap company. The Nick Williams-trained Reve De Sivola came from the clouds to win a Grade One in France four weeks ago and will have his followers on his return. Alan King's Coral Cup winner Medinas was collared by Tidal Bay at Wetherby on his comeback and adds further strength in depth. Ian Williams has entered his smart prospect Ballyalton, owned by golfer Lee Westwood's dad, John. The versatile Battle Group could run for Johnny Farrelly after picking up a minor injury in the Paddy Power Gold Cup with Buachaill Alainn (Peter Bowen) and Milborough (Tim Vaughan) completing the field.

David Pipe hopes a return to Kempton for the William Hill King George VI Chase will help Dynaste turn the tables on Cue Card. Dynaste: All set for King George tilt Pipe's grey impressed when winning the Feltham Novices' Chase at the Sunbury track nearly 12 months ago and while he performed well at Cheltenham and won at Aintree, it was arguably his best performance of last season. His first run of this campaign saw him tackle his elders in the Betfair Chase at Haydock where he had two Gold Cup winners behind him in Long Run and Bobs Worth but he was forced to give best to an on-song Cue Card. Pipe wrote on his website blog: "He was a high-class hurdler and translated his form to fences wonderfully last season, but until you take on the established stars of the game, it is difficult to know exactly where you stand in the pecking order. "To finish a solid second on his first run of the season in such a strong contest was a great effort and shows that we have a horse to go to war with in all of the top staying chases. "His next target will be the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day and I see no reason why he cannot give Cue Card a good run for his money - the track and trip will suit as he so ably demonstrated when winning the Feltham over course and distance last year." On the same Haydock card Dynaste's stablemate Gevrey Chambertin gave the yard a third success in four years in the valuable Fixed Brush Hurdle and will now begin a novice chase career. "Going into the race I felt that a mark of 143 was plenty high enough, although after this he will surely be around the 150 mark," said Pipe. "Gevrey Chambertin has always looked a potential chaser in the making and the way he jumped these 'mini fences' did nothing to dissuade me from that opinion. Indeed, he will be sent chasing after this and should take high rank among the novices.

Godolphin have purchased a majority share in Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby winner Trading Leather, who is to stay with trainer Jim Bolger. Trading Leather: Majority share acquired by Godolphin The Teofilo colt, who beat Galileo Rock to lift Group One honours at the Curragh in June, also finished third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas over a mile and was second to Novellist in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot and to Declaration Of War in the Juddmonte International. Sheikh Mohammed's operation have also acquired unbeaten two-year-old Piping Rock, who will come under the care of Richard Hannon junior when he takes over the licence from this father, Richard, on January 1. Unbeaten in three starts, Piping Rock won the Horris Hill at Newbury in October. Racing manager Simon Crisford told "We are delighted both Trading Leather and Piping Rock will race for Godolphin next year. "Trading Leather has already shown excellent form at the highest level and we hope Piping Rock can develop into a top Group One performer, too." The Godolphin blue was carried to Classic success last season by another Bolger-trained colt in 2000 Guineas hero Dawn Approach, while the decision to leave Piping Rock at his current yard will come as a major early boost to Hannon jnr as he follows in the footsteps of his champion trainer father

Southwell, 26 November 2013
12.10, first race
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference shortly after the start. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that MASKED DANCE (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mr K Locking, had interfered with PUTIN, placed second, ridden by Miss M Bishop-Peck. The Stewards found Mr Locking in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he made a manoeuvre to his left, thereby causing interference. They suspended him for 2 days on days to be notified to him by the British Horseracing Authority.
1.40, fourth race
The Stewards noted that SEVERNWIND (IRE), unplaced, had interfered with MYSTIC ANGELLINA, placed fourth, approaching three furlongs out, but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
2.40, sixth race
The Stewards noted that GABRIAL THE THUG (FR), placed fourth, had interfered with NORTHSIDE PRINCE (IRE), unplaced, approximately two furlongs out but after viewing a recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved GABRIAL THE THUG (FR)’s placing.
3.10, seventh race
The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Billy Cray, the rider of GRACE HULL, placed second, from two furlongs out. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended Cray for 2 days as follows: Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December 2013.
26/11/2013
Sedgefield, 26 November 2013
12.20, first race
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference on the bend turning out of the back straight on the final circuit. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that OSCAR TANNER (IRE), placed third, ridden by Harry Challoner, had interfered with INDIGO ISLAND (IRE), which fell, ridden by Callum Bewley. They found the interference was accidental.
1.20, third race
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, MONBEG (IRE), ridden by Wilson Renwick and trained by Martin Todhunter, compared with its previous run at Hexham on 20 November 2013 where the gelding finished eighth, beaten 43 lengths. They noted the trainer’s explanation that the gelding was suited by being held up on this occasion.
1.50, fourth race
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, GREAT OCEAN ROAD (IRE), ridden by Adam Nicol and trained by David Thompson, compared with its previous run at Hexham on 8 November 2013 where the gelding was pulled up. They noted the trainer could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form. They ordered GREAT OCEAN ROAD (IRE) to be routine tested.

The Stewards held an enquiry, adjourned from Wolverhampton, on, Monday 25 November 2013, into possible interference on the first bend. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that MY MY MY DILIZA, unplaced, ridden by Liam Jones and JANA, unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris, had both interfered with LARSEN BAY (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Stephen Craine. They found the interference was accidental.
3.50, first race
The Stewards noted that the winner, COLLEGE DOLL, had interfered with LEXI’S BEAUTY (IRE), unplaced, passing the four furlong marker but after viewing a recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved COLLEGE DOLL’s placing.
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, COLLEGE DOLL, ridden by Eoin Walsh and trained by Christine Dunnett, compared with its previous run at Kempton on 20 November 2013, where the filly finished last of six, beaten about 14 lengths. They noted the trainer’s explanation that the filly is better suited to going left handed since recovering from a pelvic injury at the end of last year. They ordered COLLEGE DOLL to be routine tested.
4.50, third race
The record of vaccinations in the passport of MANDARIN BAR, trained by David O’Meara, did not comply with the Rules of Racing. The Stewards found the trainer in breach of Rule (E)18 and as it is a second offence fined him £ 280.
5.20, fourth race
The Stewards noted that LIVING THE LIFE (IRE), placed fourth, had interfered with BOGSNOG (IRE), unplaced, who in turn interfered with PIDDIE’S POWER, unplaced, approaching two furlongs out but after viewing a recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved LIVING THE LIFE (IRE)’s placing.
5.50, fifth race
The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Adrian Nicholls, the rider of FROST FIRE (USA), placed second, inside the final furlong. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they accepted his explanation and found him not in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2.
6.20, sixth race
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final half furlong. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that DO MORE BUSINESS (IRE),placed second, ridden by Philip Prince, had interfered with MILL I AM (USA), placed fourth, ridden by Andrea Atzeni. The Stewards found Prince in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed the gelding to drift left without taking sufficient corrective measures. They suspended him for 1 day as follows: Tuesday 10 December 2013.
26/11/2013
Lingfield Park, 26 November 2013
1.30, third race
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, SABLAZO (FR), ridden by Liam Treadwell and trained by Andy Turnell, compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 26 July 2013 where it was pulled up. They noted the trainer’s representative’s explanation that the gelding was better suited by the shorter trip and softer ground here. They ordered SABLAZO (FR) to be routine tested.

Richard Johnson has been booked by the Grand National-winning team of Sue and Harvey Smith for Hennessy Gold Cup contender Cloudy Too. Cloudy Too: Will be ridden by Johnson in Hennessy Having been thrust into the spotlight when Auroras Encore landed the famous race in April, the Smiths are now eyeing another of the big jumping prizes. A decent novice last season, Cloudy Too dished out an eight-length beating to the smart Tap Night at Carlisle on his seasonal reappearance, booking his ticket for Newbury in the process. "He's also in at Newcastle (Rehearsal Chase), but he'll go down to Newbury," said Harvey Smith. "We've booked Richard Johnson. We think he's good so we'll find out how good. It will be nice if he gets into the same rhythm as at Carlisle." Another northern raider is Donald McCain's Super Duty, who was beaten just a head by Same Difference in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival before finishing fourth to Dynaste in Grade One company at Aintree. "Super Duty will run at Newbury," said McCain. "He might have just slipped under the radar a bit and that is exactly how we like it. "He's in good nick, he's had a racecourse gallop and he schooled very well this morning." Cape Tribulation is a likely runner for Malton-based Malcolm Jefferson, which means the weights will not rise any further. There was a 13lb hike in the handicap once Tidal Bay was taken out at the five-day declaration stage, which left the Gold Cup fifth at the top of the pile. Jefferson said: "There aren't a lot of places you can go with him so I think he'll take his chance. "All being well, he will run. With top weight, good to soft ground will be fine. "Jack Doyle rides as Denis (O'Regan) has to go to Newcastle." Irish raider Lord Windermere will also have a change of rider, with amateur Robbie McNamara coming in for the mount as Davy Russell is suspended. Trainer Jim Culloty is delighted to have McNamara on board last season's RSA Chase hero as he has partnered the horse before, when a close third to Boston Bob in the Dr. P.J Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown in February. Culloty told At The Races: "He's a top-class rider in his own right. "If he wasn't heavy he'd be a very good professional. In view of the fact that, at the moment, we have 11st 8lb it looks like he'll have no lead on his back. "Robbie can get to do that weight, just, and I'm very happy to have him. "He's in good form. I'm very happy with him, he's schooled well. He's a decent horse and I don't think the handicapper has been overly hard on him."

Welsh National favourite Sydney Paget has alternatives including a potential trip across the Irish Sea as he pursues even greater riches following his easy victory at Haydock on Saturday. Donald McCain: Trains Sydney Paget The valuable Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas is among a clutch of engagements open to the Donald McCain-trained six-year-old, who won a strong handicap chase on Merseyside by nearly three lengths. As well as the Coral-sponsored marathon at Chepstow on December 28, a return to Haydock for the Tommy Whittle Chase a week earlier is also an option. The Cholmondeley handler said: "The Welsh National will definitely be considered, but he'll also have entries in the Tommy Whittle and the Paddy Power Chase, which is worth an absolute fortune, in Ireland. "With the Welsh National, if Tidal Bay (top weight) runs it will be very tempting, but he's also a horse that we'd like to take back to Haydock given the way he won." Sydney Paget heads the sponsor's betting for the Welsh National at 10/1 after the weights were released, with Highland Lodge and the Irish-trained Goonyella (from 16/1) the 12/1 joint second-favourites. Spokesman David Stevens said: "Sydney Paget was a 20/1 shot prior to his win at Haydock at the weekend, but went to the head of the betting as a result of that success, and even a 13lb hike in the ratings might not prevent him following up at Chepstow given the high regard trainer Donald McCain has for his charge. "Goonyella has been the main market mover, his trainer Jim Dreaper became the first Irish-based handler to win the Coral Welsh National with Notre Pere five years ago, and Goonyella is another who should relish the stamina test this race provides."

15:15 Thursday 28th November Racing Tips - 28/11/2013
It's day 1 of the Hennessy meeting, where, normally, jumps betting starts to get that little bit easier…we hope. Punters have more information at their fingertips at this stage of the season as horses tend to have had a run and yard form is decipherable. I like the look of top-weight Broomfield dropped into handicap company for the first time and priced up at 16/1. He looked a decent prospect on the face of 3 starts in 2011 finishing 6 lengths behind Medinas on debut in a bumper an then 12 lengths behind It's A Gimme over hurdles the following season. Last time was a run after 2 years off and he wasn't given a hard time behind the very smart Doctor Harper. If the ability and potential of old remain for this 6 year old then he's very well treated off 130 on the basis of what those previous winners have gone on to achieve, and the yard is in fine form. If the ground was good then I'd have gone for Jojabean who has bags of potential but really looks at sea on soft going. Likely winner is Andy Kelly but I don't fancy his price. Newbury 13.30 - Broomfield 1pt e/w
I want to take on Third Intention with another Nicholls runner in the Grade 2 Novice Chase. Just A Par is yet to fulfil his potential and was a touch disappointing on chase debut behind the subsequently beaten Shotgun Paddy. However, his 2nd in the Sefton Hurdle behind At Fishers Cross, who is very good indeed, gives him a chance in a race lacking strength in depth. He is in receipt of 7lb from the likely favourite and, whilst we know more of what to expect from the Tizzard horse, Just A Par remains very unexposed. He cost some £260k last year and has the potential to be a real top class staying chaser but today really is a must win if he is to live up to that. His run at Aintree suggested he may be better for better ground, though he won a point to point on heavy, and conditions today should suit. Third Intention is a good chaser but I'm not sure he is top class, especially on his hit and miss jumping and form behind Captain Conan who, equally, is not as good as some (myself included) thought he was. The 13/8 about the selection makes him much more appealing than the 6/4 about the favourite. Newbury 14.05 - Just A Par 2pt win
Grandads Horse was to be the selection in the following race but he is a withdrawal. That leaves Renard D'Irlande as the one I think will win but there are slight ground concerns and the race is best left alone. Chatterbox is solid favourite in the Intermediate Hurdle, as much as I'd love to see Puffin Billy win. The latter has a bit to prove after 3 worsening efforts at the start of 2013 and the form of the Henderson runner looks far more appealing. He beat My Tent Or Yours here last December and subsequently followed up over course and distance on soft ground, though the strength of that race is questionable when pitched into this Listed company. His 4th in the Neptune was impressive and I think he'll be more of a threat back over shorter. However, he is giving 16lb to the unexposed Get Back In Line and a low-weighted improver can be worth siding with in this. Henderson has a solid record in the race but only 2 of the last 10 winner have carried more than 11 stone to win this and the Jonjo O'Neill 5 year old cold have a easier task than 11/2 suggests. McCoy doesn't show up to ride him (concern?) but he is in capable hands for an owner with something of a penchant for sharp hurdlers at the minute. Newbury 15.15 - Get Back In Line 1pt win

My Tent Or Yours heads a field of eight for the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle on Saturday. My Tent Or Yours: Makes Newcastle reappearance The six-year-old, owned by JP McManus, won four of his six starts over hurdles last season, with one of his two defeats coming in the William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham where he was narrowly beaten by Champagne Fever. Nicky Henderson's charge made amends in great style at Aintree in April and will be a warm order to open his Grade One account. His main rival is expected to be Melodic Rendezvous. Jeremy Scott's stable star missed the spring festivals after making a bright start to his hurdling career, which included success in the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown in January. He also made a pleasing return when lifting the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton earlier this month. John Ferguson's Cotton Mill, fourth in the Elite Hurdle, again takes on Melodic Rendezvous. Alan King's Grumeti makes his return after a lengthy absence, while Nicky Richards saddles Duke Of Navan. John Quinn, triumphant 12 months ago with Countrywide Flame, bids for back-to-back victories with the progressive Cockney Sparrow. Completing the line-up are Rock Relief and Stormy Weather.

The 'next few weeks are criticial' for St Nicholas Abbey as the multiple Group One winner continues his fight to fully recover from a fractured pastern originally suffered during the summer and complications that ensued. St Nicholas Abbey: Still fighting Aidan O'Brien's star had to be retired after suffering the leg injury on the gallops at Ballydoyle when being prepared for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Just two days after he underwent a major leg operation at Fethard Equine Hospital in July, the six-year-old had to have emergency surgery to be treated for colic. He had a further setback in August when it was discovered a steel weight-bearing pin in a cannon bone had broken, and last month was hit by a serious blow relating to "mild laminitic changes in the left fore". A latest update from Coolmore, issued on Thursday, read: "St Nicholas Abbey is struggling to overcome the laminitis in his left front foot, this is indeed life threatening and is the single biggest complication he has faced since his initial lifesaving surgery. "The worry is that if the condition progresses and further sinking of the pedal bone takes place it may prolapse through the sole of his foot. "In spite of this St Nicholas Abbey is very comfortable, being just a little ouchy when walking in his first steps and better thereafter, his appetite and demeanour remain incredibly good. "His intensive veterinary treatment continues and includes maggot therapy for the slight discharge at the toe of the laminitic foot and a daily session on a vibrating plate. "The next few weeks are critical for St Nicholas Abbey - we are just hoping that he can turn the corner."
