Trainer Steve Gollings has secured the services of top Irish jockey Bryan Cooper for Conquisto in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday. Conquisto: Set to be partnered by Bryan Cooper The progressive eight-year-old has been first or second in seven of his eight starts over fences, finishing third in the other one, and landed a big prize when claiming the Old Roan Chase at Aintree last month. With Tony McCoy likely to be required for owner JP McManus, Lincolnshire-based Gollings is delighted to have rising star Cooper in the saddle. Gollings said: "He is an intended runner and will be ridden by Bryan Cooper. "AP (McCoy) won the Old Roan on him but his boss (McManus) has got horses in the race and I'm sure he will be riding one. Tom Scudamore has also won on him, but he could be needed for Dynaste or possibly something else so basically we moved to make sure we know where we are. "I spoke to Bryan's agent, he confirmed he will definitely be coming over and will ride. The last thing we wanted was to wait and wait, and end up with a jockey we didn't want. We needed to do the best for Conquisto. "I know it's a cliche, but he's come out of Aintree 100 per cent - you'd soon know with Conquisto as he wears his heart on his sleeve every day. "Another factor (in deciding to run) is the ground is in his favour. "I suppose I'd be a little concerned if the top horse (Finian's Rainbow) and Dynaste came out and the weights did go up as he's not a big horse, but we're in now and the intention is to run." Martin Keighley expressed his delight with Champion Court as he stretched his legs before the assembled media at his Condicote base on Tuesday morning. The eight-year-old has a real affinity with Cheltenham, winning three times and finishing second twice from nine runs at Prestbury Park, as well as performing with credit on a number of other occasions. Keighley looked on as his charge enjoyed a solo spin up the gallop with his string before working upsides Creepy, who also runs at Cheltenham this week. Gloucestershire-based Keighley said: "He had a racecourse gallop and worked very nicely. He's had a fantastic preparation, summered really well, and the Paddy Power was always the aim. "I still felt he wasn't right after the King George, but he likes Cheltenham and the ground will be perfect. "He's run some massive races there, including his first hurdle win in a Grade Two, and hopefully he will be thereabouts. "I still think he is running off a fair mark, he only went up a few pounds for beating Menorah (over course and distance in April) when I thought he was on a competitive rating. "The trip, ground and track are all in his favour." Nigel Twiston-Davies is set to rely upon Astracad as he seeks a third win in the race after Imperial Commander (2008) and Little Josh (2010). A consistent seven-year-old, Astracad was fifth to Paddy Power talking horse Johns Spirit at Cheltenham in October and was most recently second to Conquisto in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree. Twiston-Davies said: "Sam (Twiston-Davies) will ride and he will run if it is good or good to soft. Simon Claisse (clerk of the course) says it will not be softer than that. "He ran a super race at Liverpool and got mugged on the line. He likes the track and he's got a chance. "If nothing is really well handicapped in the race he will be there or thereabouts. "He's got a very good chance, but he's not going into the race like an Imperial Commander, who had bags of weight in hand, or Little Josh, who also had a bit in hand. They were second-season chasers unlike this fellow. "Double Ross probably won't run - it would have to be soft. He's been running really well and I'm delighted with him, but he needs a test of stamina and that is very unlikely at the moment."

The All-Weather Championships step up a gear at Lingfield Park on Saturday, November 16, with a pair of £37,000 Listed races offering automatic qualification for Europe's richest All-Weather raceday, on Friday, April 18. Highland Knight and Tales Of Grimm on for Lingfield rematch The winner of the 10-furlong coral.co.uk Churchill Stakes (2.35pm) will gain a place in the £200,000 Coral Middle Distance Final, run over the same course and distance on All-Weather Championships Finals Day. A total of 20 entries for Saturday's race include Highland Knight (Andrew Balding) and Tales Of Grimm (Richard Fahey), who fought out a thrilling finish to the Group Three Darley Stakes at Newmarket on October 20. Excess Knowledge (John Gosden) could make his first start since finishing down the field in the Group One Ladbrokes St Leger, while last year's winner Farraaj (Roger Varian), who also captured the Group Three Winter Derby at Lingfield Park in March, is due to return to the Surrey course. William Haggas ended the Flat turf season in superb form and the Newmarket trainer is set to be represented by the rapidly improving Graphic. The four-year-old has won four of his last five starts, with the only defeat coming when he finished a fine fourth in the Cambridgeshire Heritage Handicap at Newmarket on September 28. Graphic, who is owned by the Royal Ascot racing club, won the valuable London Mile Series Final on Polytrack at Kempton Park at the start of September, and made all on his latest appearance for a facile four-length success in a valuable mile handicap at Nottingham. Harry Herbert, racing manager of the Royal Ascot racing club, revealed: "I still have to discuss it with William (Haggas) but I think it is very likely that Graphic will run at Lingfield Park on Saturday. "We are very happy with him at the moment and this looks a good race to go for. The entries are very strong and it looks like a Group Three in all but name. "Graphic has been highly progressive this year. At the start of the year he was rated 86 and now has a mark of 110, so we feel he has earned a crack at a Black Type race. "The one unknown will be the trip, as he hasn't run over 10 furlongs before. However, he did finish fourth in the Cambridgeshire and looks as if he should stay. We know he goes on the surface." Herbert also revealed that Conduct, the impressive five-length winner of the Betfred November Handicap at Doncaster on November 9, will also be campaigned in the All-Weather Championships. The six-old is also trained by Haggas and runs in the colours of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing's Royal Palace Syndicate. He added: "The plan is to keep going through the all-weather season with conduct. I think William has already found a race for him. "We run our horses where there is decent prize money and both horses could well line up on finals day at Lingfield. "We don't have many jumpers this year, so the All-Weather Championships provide some decent racing for our members through the winter months." Saturday's other "Win and You're In" contest is the six-furlong Best Odds At bookmakers.co.uk Golden Rose Stakes (3.10pm), which offers a place in the £150,000 bookmakers.co.uk Sprint Final over the same course and distance on All-Weather Championships Finals Day. Several notable sprinters feature among the 23 entries including this season's Haydock Sprint Cup fourth Hawkeyethenoo (Jim Goldie), 2011 Prix de l'Abbaye winner Tangerine Trees (Bryan Smart) and Ascot heritage handicap scorer Galician (Mark Johnston).

ullyraine (Bangor, nap, 1.20) returns to the scene of some of his finest hours and may be the answer to a tricky novices’ handicap chase.
The nine-year-old ran respectably at Worcester last time when fourth, 13l in arrears of stablemate Trafalgar with another of today’s rivals, Winds And Waves a promising second.
Strictly on the book, Tullyraine has a little to find with his old adversary, but I’m hopeful that a return to the North Wales venue, where the selection is unbeaten in two starts, can see him regain the winning thread.
He will certainly appreciate the softer ground and could prove to be some value in a open race.
Evan Williams unveiled a lovely novice at Carlisle on Monday in the shape of Milo Man and Minella Friend (Exeter, nb, 1.10) could register another win in the Rucker colours this afternoon.
The selection’s British debut behind Horizontal Speed was an eyecatching effort over a trip short of his best and there looks more to come now he tackles in excess of two and a half miles for the first time. HOTSPOTS

National Hunt racing promises much on both sides of the Irish Sea this weekend. Oscar Whisky and Taquin De Seuil are among those entered for a novice chase at Cheltenham on Friday, but the Grade 2 novice hurdle has been moved to Sunday, where 8/1 Supreme fav West Wizard could make his debut over obstacles.
In Ireland, Sunday's Grade 1 Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown has Jezki entered against a Mullins battalion of Hurricane Fly, Annie Power and Un De Sceaux among others. Two Grade 2 novices chases have Morning Assembly, Don Cossack, Defy Logic and Felix Yonger among the entries, while Champagne Fever could begin over fences on Saturday.
We'll go into more detail on the Paddy Power Gold Cup later in the week, but midday on Friday is the Ten To Follow entry deadline so Road to Cheltenham will focus on this today and tomorrow. Head there for a review of last season and why we didn't scoop the 250k.
One special price caught our eye today, namely Paddy Power's 28/1 on Nicky Henderson to train the winner of the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold Cup. Sprinter Sacre has one sewn up, with Bobs Worth a solid Gold Cup favourite and My Tent Or Yours looking a real hurdling player. Hendo has Simonsig as deputy for potentially all three races.

13:50 Wednesday 13th November Racing Tips - 13/11/2013
Great card at Bangor and the feature handicap is particularly open. Our Mick is a worthy favourite off the same mark as he belatedly began last term. His last win came on heavy ground at Haydock off 13lb lower but he has been ultra competitive in 5 starts since, bar the Scottish Natoinal last time. That may have been too far and he'll like this ground back over an extended 3 miles. I like Mountainous as a horse but this may be a little too competitive and the same goes for Loch Ba, who is giving weight to the former having been in receipt of it when winning at Newbury. Last year's winner, Quartz De Thaix lines up off 18lb higher but should suit a little more cut in the ground and I'm not sure he has reached that ceiling mark yet. At 7/1, he has a good record fresh, a good record with Aidan Coleman, and is twice a winner here in 3 attempts. His 2nd at Cheltenham, in very good company, off just 1lb lower gives him every chance and the yard are in top form. Bangor 13.50 - Quartz De Thaix 1pt e/w
Staying at Bangor, I think Shotavodka is a favourite to take on in the 2 and a half mile hurdle. I thought the same at Newbury when he won comfortably on heavy ground but he is 6lb higher today and the step up in trip, while plausible on breeding, is not an obvious choice given his front running style over shorter. If he settles then conditions will be in his favour but 3/1 is short enough. The 2 worth noting appear to be Azure Fly and Bourne, both at around 7/1. The latter has dropped to a feasible mark and has had excuses since his last win off 7lb higher. 140 was too tough a mark, he doesn't go well at Cheltenham, and he is finally back over a trip that suits on ground with cut in it. Blinkers are back on and he's worth a speculative punt. Azure Fly is a risky bugger but at least he is going left handed, the way he sometimes jumps and hangs. He was 3rd in a decent Listed Novice hurdle last time behind Sea Lord and Life And Soul, both very capable and the former competitive off a mark into the 140's. An opening handicap mark for Charlie Longsdon's 5 year old of 132 could be lenient if he behaves on softish ground that he is unraced on. He is related to the likes of Notabotheronme and Three Counties, winners on soft ground over a trip, and this greater stamina test should suit. Bangor 14.50 - Azure Fly 1pt e/w

Racing pundit John McCririck has lost his age discrimination employment tribunal case against Channel 4. John McCririck: Lost his case The 73-year-old argued that he was sacked by the broadcaster because of his age. McCririck said he was dumped from his high-profile role on Channel 4 Racing by "anonymous suits and skirts" as part of a drive to hire younger faces. But a Central London Employment Tribunal panel ruled against him, McCririck told the Press Association. The pundit, famed for his deerstalker, tic-tac gestures and gold jewellery, took his former employer and TV production company IMG Media Limited to the tribunal, alleging his sacking last year was motivated by age discrimination. Both firms denied discrimination in the £3 million case. McCririck said: "This is an historic setback for all employees in their 30s to their 70s. "After such a landmark judicial verdict, my failed legal action ensures that anonymous suits and skirts, who control the media, numerous other businesses and the public sector, will now enjoy complete freedom to replace older employees whatever their unimpaired ability and merit. "I have let them all down along with my wife, the Booby, my legal team, friends, colleagues and countless members of the public who supported me throughout. My grateful thanks and apologies to every one of them. "Former Labour home secretary David Blunkett MP said in August: 'The way TV executives worship the cult of youth seems to be an unstoppable fetish'. It is now. "With my legal team we are now out of contact while studying the judgment in detail. It is on the Central London Employment Tribunal website." Zarkandar, The New One and My Tent Or Yours are the star names in the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle after 22 entries were revealed for the Newcastle showpiece on November 30. My Tent Or Yours: Newcastle entry The Paul Nicholls-trained Zarkandar only met with defeat once last season, when fourth in the Champion Hurdle, and regained the winning thread in beating The New One at Aintree. Nicholls has plenty of options for the first Grade One hurdle run in Britain this season with his classy four-year-olds Far West, second in the Elite Hurdle last weekend, and the money-spinning Ptit Zig, winner of a valuable Grade One in France recently. Completing the Nicholls team is Caid Du Berlais, second to Jezki at Down Royal last time out. Nigel Twiston-Davies has entered The New One, currently ante-post favourite for the Champion Hurdle, but he is more likely to head to Cheltenham for the International Hurdle next month. My Tent Or Yours, second to Champagne Fever in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, may represent Nicky Henderson. Melodic Rendezvous, so impressive in the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton, has the race as a target, as does John Quinn's mare Cockney Sparrow. Grumeti, Sea Lord, Puffin Billy and Duke Of Navan are other classy types engaged, with the likes of Cotton Mill, Ifandbutwhynot and Prima Porta adding further strength in depth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nicky Richards is weighing up whether to run his exciting prospect Duke Of Navan at Haydock on Saturday week or wait for the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle on November 30. Nicky Richards: Trains Duke Of Navan The five-year-old won the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso last season and Richards feels he has improved over the summer. His options for his first run of the season are an intermediate hurdle on Betfair Chase day or the Grade One at Newcastle. "The Duke might go to Haydock next week," said Richards. "There's an intermediate hurdle over two miles there for him, but we've also put him in the Fighting Fifth so we need to decide. "He's really strengthened up over the summer and is a fine looker. "I wasn't keen on sending him chasing this year as he'd only had four runs over hurdles. If he'd gone chasing I'd expect him to be in all the major races and I'm not sure he'd had enough experience for that. "If he has another, three, four or maybe five runs this season then he'll be ready. We'll just see how we go."

Royal Bajan (Southwell, nap, 3.20) can often pinch a couple of lengths out of the stalls and, if he can pull off that manoeuvre this afternoon, James Given’s speedster could take some pegging back.
The grey has a track record of 122, has won following a break so the 37-day absence could well be a positive and goes well for Graham Lee.
He does face competition for the lead from Moorhouse Lad, but Royal Bajan is a smart handicapper on his day and this looks a good opportunity for him.
The petrol gauge began to flicker for Rydalis (Ludlow, nb, 2.00) as the six-year-old approached the last fence at Exeter on her reappearance.
Unfortunately for her supporters she was worn down on the climb to the line by Gas Line Boy as a lack of condition told but, with that run under her belt, the selection could make an impression in an interesting handicap.
The likes of Plein Pouvoir, Kapga De Cerisy, Richmond and Last Shot have all been chase winners for Venetia Williams in the past week and Rydalis should find conditions to her liking today.
Dougie Costello teamed up with Madeira Girl (Southwell, 12.20) to land a handicap at the track back in August and the duo look to have leading chances in the opener.
The step up to 11 furlongs looked the key for the Bachelor Duke filly two starts ago when she ground out a tenacious win and today’s extra furlong should play to her strengths. HOTSPOTS
