RYAN MOORE will not retain the ride on Dandino in the Hong Kong Vase next month after his ride on the six-year-old in the Melbourne Cup was labelled "disappointing" by syndicate manager Darren Dance.
Dandino charged home to finish fifth behind Fiorente in the Melbourne Cup beaten three and a half lengths after finding himself at the back of the field turning into the home straight.
Prior to the Melbourne Cup, Dance had indicated that Moore would be aboard Dandino for Hong Kong and Dubai and that the jockey wanted to "redeem himself" after receiving criticism for his ride on Mount Athos at Flemington in 2012.
However, while Dance said that he did not think Dandino would have won the Melbourne Cup, he suggested that the Marco Botti-trained runner missed out on a place having been "left with too much to do".
Dance, who runs the Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock syndicate, said on Wednesday: "It was a disappointing ride.
"My summary is that the horse ran enormous. To come from second last on the corner to run fifth was outstanding, but at the 1,000 metre mark he had the chance to get on the back of Fiorente.
"That's what cost us running second or third. I don't think we were going to beat Fiorente, he was just too good."
Speaking to TVN, Dance added: "I just thought our horse should have finished right with them, I think he should have run a place. It's disappointing when you draw four and you end up back near last behind slow horses and then you are left with too much to do."

14:50 Wednesday 6th November Racing Tips - 06/11/2013
Balder Success is the highlight at Warwick today and if you fancy him for the Arkle then get on now as he will shorten. Expect him to win well but his price is not all that appealing. The favourite I do like the price of is Dan Skelton's Forest Walker at 6/5 and hopefully he can make back the Cue Card losses yesterday. He does have a 7lb penalty to defy but that looked well within him when scoring easily at Uttoxeter last time and, not given a hard time that day, turning out after 5 days off should be no concern. There's likely to be a good gallop given plenty lining up that like to go forward and that should suit Harry Skelton's mount. His dam was sister to a smart staying chaser and there should be more to come from him. The Potting Shed needs respect but will not enjoy the forecast rain. Ballywatt deserves to win a race more than any other horse in the country…but it's unlikely to happen today. Warwick 13.20 - Forest Walker 3pt win
A favourite worth opposing looks to be Willoughby Hedge, though the Alan King yard is in fine form. They won this race in 2005 with Jackson and, after a 27 length victory last time, this 6 year old would be expected to follow up under a 7lb penalty. However, he took a while to get going last year and there's a hint that the race he won in May was very poor. The form of his Taunton run in December is a great deal better, with 3 of the 5 ahead of him going on to win, but he looks there to be shot at today at the head of the market and he will want it to stay dry. Golden Calf could be a fair bit better than his price given that his sole start over here came in a bumper over 17 furlongs on good ground. He's used to 3 miles in Irish points and should be seen to better effect this afternoon. The one to side with though looks to be Patsys Castle for another yard in good nick. A dual point winner in Ireland on ground with cut in it, he will appreciate the forecast rain and ran a solid race on debut when staying on over 2 miles 5. He hit one hard that day but still showed up at the finish and the form has worked out very well. Winner Oscar Fortune has won again while Beachfire (2nd, who beat New Year's Eve on his previous start) was 2nd in a Class 3 contest next time and Present View (3rd) was 2nd in a novice handicap chase off 118. That suggests Kim Bailey's horse can threaten the favourite, rated 125, with 7lb in hand and I fancy him to shorten from 11/4. Warwick 14.50 - Patsys Castle 2pt win
Given the forecast rain this afternoon it may be worth chancing Bally Sands at 14/1 who, in truth, wants more of a test than this. He plugged on over 3 miles last time out on good to soft but wants it truly soft underfoot. Eased 2lb, he gets on well with Ed Cookson and the 2 should ensure a good gallop from the front today. Others like to go forward including Timpo, Guess Again and Double Chocolate, and with horses churning up wet ground all afternoon, this could turn into a slog. He has a course win over an extra 2 furlongs to his name and looks a little overpriced. If pushed to side with one of those more prominent in the market then it would be Whispering Senator who was staying on over 3 miles on very quick ground at Exeter last time out. The winner that day has gone on to score off 16lb higher and it's fair to assume Jonjo O'Neill's gelding can still win off a mark of 115. He has acted on softish ground and Maurice Linehan is well worth his 3lb claim. Top Dancer is a proper stayer who won over 3 miles 5 furlongs at Cheltenham last time out and is dropped in class to contest this off 7lb higher on first start for Warren Greatrex. However, he technically has 10 lengths to find with Bally Sands for their March meeting here and they should be closer to each other in the betting. Warwick 15.25 - Bally Sands 1pt e/w

REPRESENTATIVES for the owners of Dandino have refuted claims in the Australian press that Ryan Moore will be removed from the six-year-old in next month's Hong Kong Vase saying no decision has been taken.
Reports from Australia had suggested that Moore would be replaced aboard the Marco Botti-trained runner after Darren Dance, syndicate manager for owners Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock, had labelled his ride in the Melbourne Cup "disappointing".
However, connections are yet to make a decision on who rides in Hong Kong next month with a local jockey being considered along with Moore, although Moore is reportedly number one choice when Dandino returns to Europe and if he heads to Dubai.
Dandino finished fifth in the Melbourne Cup, beaten three and a half lengths, which Dance felt was an impressive performance given his runner had found himself out of position at the back of the field turning into the home straight.
While the perceived criticism for Moore from Dance raised eyebrows, connections were keen to state that owners tended to less reserved in their summary of races as can sometimes be the case in Europe.
Speaking to Australian broadcaster TVN, Dance had said: "It was a disappointing ride.
"My summary is that the horse ran enormous. To come from second last on the corner to run fifth was outstanding, but at the 1,000 metre mark he had the chance to get on the back of Fiorente.
"That's what cost us running second or third. I don't think we were going to beat Fiorente, he was just too good."
He added: "I just thought our horse should have finished right with them, I think he should have run a place. It's disappointing when you draw four and you end up back near last behind slow horses and then you are left with too much to do."

Trainer Colin Tizzard is relishing a tilt at the Betfair Chase with Cue Card following his defeat in Tuesday's Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter. Cue Card: Haydock bound Last season's Ryanair Chase hero was a hot favourite for the Grade Two contest, despite conceding upwards of a stone to each of his opponents. While he ultimately came up short, Cue Card was not disgraced in finishing third behind Somersby and Module and he will now step up to three miles for only the second time in his career at Haydock on November 23. Tizzard said: "He's absolutely fine this morning and he just got a bit tired at the end. "He was giving all that weight away and we've all seen it happen before haven't we? "The main thing is he trotted out lovely this morning, which means we can look forward to the Betfair. That will be a lovely race for him." ----------------------------------

The Amlin 1965 Chase at Ascot remains the likely next objective for Somersby following his thrilling success in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter on Tuesday. Somersby: Could head to Ascot The nine-year-old, trained by Mick Channon since Henrietta Knight announced her retirement last year, endured a largely disappointing campaign in 2012-13. He looked right back to his best in getting the better of Module in the Grade Two feature, and Channon is hoping he remains in the same form during the coming month. "He had a lot of problems last season, but we got the horse back and it is a relief in lots of ways," the West Ilsley handler told At The Races. "He's always had plenty of ability - that's never been disputed. Last year he had a splint, which held us up, and we couldn't get a clean run at him. "Henrietta has had him all summer and he looks fantastic and is in great form. "I thought he might just have needed it (the run), but he managed to get home, which was great for everybody concerned. "I would have thought he'll go to Ascot for the Amlin. He looks to have come out of the race well and we seem to have him back to where he was a couple of years ago."

rainer Colm Murphy hopes the decision to re-route Quito De La Roque to Thurles on Thursday for the Listed John Meagher Memorial Chase can reap handsome dividends. Quito De La Roque: Connections hopeful Murphy's charge was declared a non-runner for last Saturday's JNwine.com Champion Chase, but he sets a good standard if he can put a Gowran mishap behind him by recapturing the form that saw him land the Down Royal Grade One in 2011. Murphy said: "He has to give weight away all round, but he seems well and we're very happy with him. "I'm not sure that they're going to get much rain. The more rain the better for him ideally as he seems to handle soft ground better. "We'll get tomorrow out of the way and then plan from there. There are plenty of races for him." Trainer Noel Meade is hoping for further rainfall for Realt Dubh, who has not been seen since finishing second in a Grade Two at Naas in February. Meade said: "He's in good form and the conditions of the race suit him well. "We could do with a bit more rain. It's good at the moment and we definitely wouldn't want it any quicker. "We'd want it on the easy side of good. "He's never won over two miles and six (furlongs), but he's getting a bit older and the trip won't disadvantage him." Tom Mullins, by contrast, hopes the rain keeps at bay for Fosters Cross, who raced three times in October. He said: "We're very happy with him, he's in good form. "I'm delighted that the ground is good. "It was good to firm earlier in the week and I'd have been happy if it had stayed like that. The quicker the better for him. "Realistically we're running for place money but if anything else comes along all the better. "He got caught in the muck last time at Galway. It was very heavy and he had top weight. "His form is pretty consistent otherwise. "He ran well in the Galway Plate and if it had been good to firm, he might have got home a lot better and might have been placed. "Around Thurles on good ground I think he'll get the trip." The six-runner field is completed by Playtime Ben, Armaramak and Noble Prince, winner of the 2011 Jewson Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Nottingham, 6 November 2013
12.30, first race
The Stewards noted that TABLEFORTEN, unplaced, had interfered with MONTAIGNE, placed second, on leaving the stalls but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
1.00, second race
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, MEGALEKA, ridden by Robert Tart and trained by Alan Bailey, compared with its previous run at Musselburgh on 14 October 2013 where the filly finished twelfth of twelve, beaten by 9 ¾ lengths. They noted the trainer’s explanation that MEGALEKA was poorly drawn on her previous run at Musselburgh and she also appreciated a return to softer ground on this occasion. They ordered MEGALEKA to be routine tested.
1.30, third race
The Starter reported that HONOR BOUND, trained by Ralph Beckett, refused to enter the stalls. The trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and he was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
The Stewards held an enquiry to consider why Jimmy Fortune, the rider of SAHARA DESERT (IRE), placed fifth, appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race they noted his explanation that SAHARA DESERT (IRE) was hanging badly left, which he reported at scales, and this had caused the bit to slip through the colt’s mouth.
3.05, sixth race
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that LASILIA (IRE), placed second, ridden by Shane Gray, had interfered with POINT NORTH (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart. The Stewards found Gray in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his horse to drift right, thereby causing interference. They suspended him for 3 days as follows: Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November 2013.
4.10, eighth race
The Starter reported that TOP DIKTAT, trained by Gary Moore, was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn. The trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
06/11/2013
Chepstow, 6 November 2013
1.10, first race
The record of vaccinations in the passport of ELYSIAN HEIGHTS (IRE), trained by David Brace, did not comply with the Rules of Racing. The Stewards found the trainer in breach of Rule (E)18 and fined him £280, this being his second offence within the last 12 months.
1.40, second race
The record of vaccinations in the passport of HUNKY DOREY, trained by Marc Barber, did not comply with the Rules of Racing. The Stewards found the trainer in breach of Rule (E)18 and, noting that the last examination had also identified an error, fined him £650.
06/11/2013
Warwick, 6 November 2013
12.50, first race
The Stewards held an enquiry into the fall of Noel Fehily, the rider of LUGGERS HALL (IRE), down the back straight. They interviewed the rider. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the incident the Stewards found that the fall was due to LUGGERS HALL (IRE) sustaining an injury. Being satisfied that no other horse or rider was involved, the Stewards took no further action.
3.25, sixth race
The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule (B)11.6 into possible interference on the run to the line. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that the winner, GUESS AGAIN (IRE), ridden by Kieron Edgar, had interfered with WHISTLING SENATOR (IRE), placed second, ridden by Maurice Linehan, and that the interference had not improved GUESS AGAIN (IRE)’s placing. They ordered the placings to remain unaltered. The Stewards found Edgar in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his horse to drift left without correction. They suspended him for 2 days as follows: Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 November 2013.
4.00, seventh race
The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Mr S. Waley-Cohen, the rider of MAKADAMIA, placed second, approaching the line. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he used his whip in the incorrect place. The Stewards suspended Waley-Cohen for 2 days on dates to be notified by the British Horseracing Authority.
06/11/2013
Kempton Park, 6 November 2013
5.30, third race
The Stewards noted that GREYLAMI (IRE), drawn 11, had anticipated the start and barged the gate at the same moment as the race had been started, thereby enabling the gelding to break quickly. Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, they took no further action.
The Stewards noted that FORGET ME NOT LANE (IRE), unplaced, had interfered with DESERTED, placed third, 2 ½ furlongs out, but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
6.00, fourth race
The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of QUINTA FEIRA (IRE), ridden by Mark Coumbe, and trained by Ed de Giles, which raced in rear before staying on in the straight under apparent tender handling to finish ninth of 14, beaten 14 ½ lengths. They interviewed the rider and the trainer. They also received a report from the Veterinary Officer who stated that the gelding was found to be lame on examination post-race. The rider stated that his instructions were to drop the gelding in early and make the best of his way home. Rounding the home turn he was still in last place and felt that he had little chance. When he asked QUINTA FEIRA (IRE) to make an effort, the gelding ran on past beaten horses. The trainer stated that he was satisfied with the ride given. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race the Stewards noted their explanations.
8.00, eighth race
The Stewards held an enquiry to consider the apparent improvement in form of the winner, ATALANTA BAY (IRE), ridden by Harry Bentley and trained by Marcus Tregoning, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer, who stated that the filly appreciated the step up in trip and benefited from having had a break since April 2013. Having heard his evidence they forwarded his explanation to the British Horseracing Authority so that the previous performances of ATALANTA BAY (IRE) could be reviewed.

The Stewards considered the running of RED RIVERMAN, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, and trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, which finished unplaced. They noted the trainer’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. They ordered RED RIVERMAN to be routine tested.
4.20, seventh race

6th November 2013 - WETHERBY WONDERS Wetherby saw the wraps taken off some of National Hunt racing’s big guns on Saturday, the two flagship events are covered by a couple of our jumps Handicappers returning to the blog after summer breaks. Also, events at Santa Anita went some of the way to sorting out pecking orders in the two-year-old division and a grateful Matthew Tester gives his take on current standings.
Topper the pops
Wetherby’s Bet365 Charlie Hall Chase lost much of its lustre with Long Run, the 2011 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner and 5/4-on favourite, tailed off last and clearly not himself, writes John de Moraville.
That, though, will not have bothered winning trainer Kim Bailey, who has always thought the world of Harry Topper, neck conqueror of Wayward Prince in a thriller. Bailey compares Harry Topper with his 1995 Gold Cup hero Master Oats but the six-year-old still has a long way to go to match the exploits of that remarkable chestnut.
Due to the proximity of gallant 50/1-shot Wayward Prince, slammed 11 lengths by Silviniaco Conti in last year’s Charlie Hall, it is impossible to rate Harry Topper higher than 153 – a long way off Gold Cup standard. But Jason Maguire’s mount has won all his four completed starts over fences and is sure to improve as he gains further experience and brushes up his jumping.
Wayward Prince, giving the winner 4lb, ran his heart out in second, replicating the 155 posted when sixth to First Lieutenant in Aintree’s Betfred Bowl back in the spring.
Unioniste weakened into third place recording a performance figure of 147, 6lb below his best of 153. That came in the big pre-Christmas handicap chase at Cheltenham last December, run, perhaps significantly, over a half-mile shorter trip.
Are you Ruby in disguise?
Good old Tidal Bay…what a star, writes Martin Greenwood. Approaching 13-years-old and off the course for almost 12 months, Tidal Bay won his second successive Bet365 West Yorkshire Hurdle at Wetherby on Saturday and confirmed he is as good as ever over hurdles in the process.
For all his quality, Tidal Bay isn’t the most straightforward of customers and new rider Sam Twiston-Davies had obviously done his homework for he produced an almost carbon copy of the ride given by Ruby Walsh a year earlier. If anything, Twiston-Davies held on even longer than Walsh and produced Tidal Bay to lead close home after a mistake at the last. My pre-race figures suggested there should be around two lengths between Tidal Bay (160) and last season’s Coral Cup winner Medinas (154, receiving 4lb) and it very nearly worked out that way with a length between them at the line. I have left both those figures where they were, while increasing the talented but recalcitrant third Captain Sunshine from 140 to 145. His pre-race figure came from the Pertemps – a race which has worked out well in the main.
The day before saw the introduction of two interesting recruits to the hurdling division. Oscar Rock, a good bumper horse trained by Harry Fry last season, lashed up at Wetherby, while Carraig Mor, a winning Irish pointer, was equally impressive in hosing up at Uttoxeter. It’s hard to be certain about exactly what was achieved such was their ease of victory, but it’s fair to suggest we are talking a minimum of 140 for both, which means both look extremely exciting prospects.
Flying the flag
The first day of the Breeders’ Cup weekend saw wins in both the Juvenile Turf races for British-trained runners and I was delighted, writes Matthew Tester.
Starting with the boys, Outstrip was the top-rated horse going into the race, a couple of pounds clear of the Aidan O’Brien-pair Giovanni Boldini and Wilshire Boulevard on my figures.
Outstrip’s best previous performance was when winning Doncaster’s Champagne Stakes by three lengths. Back in third that day was Cable Bay who went on to finish second to War Command in the Dewhurst. The fast pace at Santa Anita definitely helped Outstrip and he stormed home to win by half a length from Giovanni Boldini with the USA-trained favourite in third. I have a new rating of 117 for the winner (up 3lb) and it was a notable success for new trainer Charlie Appleby.
The Juvenile Fillies Turf saw a clash between Vorda, winner of the 6f Cheveley Park Stakes, and Chriselliam, winner of the Fillies’ Mile – Newmarket’s two Group 1 races for two-year-old fillies.
I was not confident that Vorda was going to like going two furlongs further. The fact that she finished seventh should not detract from her excellent Newmarket win. As for Chriselliam, Richard Hughes had been overflowing with praise after her last piece of work in Lambourn and a win was always on the cards. Her Newmarket success had been a surprise as she had previously been beaten in a listed race at Haydock. I almost certainly undervalued the Fillies’ Mile because it was such a big step up on her earlier form. This time I am happy to raise her rating to 117 and this looks sure to make her the champion two-year-old filly of the Classifications. Vorda stays on her 114 on my figures despite the understandable disappointment.
One thing to bear in mind is that the official distances in the USA do not seem to do her justice. On the day she was deemed to have won by two and a half lengths. Looking at the video, the margin seems to be at least three lengths. Most of the other distances look to be a little understated too meaning that her win was even more impressive than the result suggests.
Charlie Hills, in only his second full season as a trainer, has already won a Classic with Just the Judge and now looks set to have a Champion. Chriselliam is an 8/1 shot for next year’s 1,000 Guineas and she looks to me the most likely winner of that race on current evidence.

14:10 Thursday 7th November Racing Tips - 07/11/2013
There's a good handicap at Wolves this evening and Strictly Silver, a nice horse to follow this term on the flat, lines up here for the first time since winning the Lincoln trial over course and distance in the spring. However, he's a little short given that he is now 9lb higher and Robert Tart has lost 4lb of his claim, though I'd still like to see him win. Chookie Royale is unbeaten at the track and Alfred Hutchinson has a super record there but the one I think looks worth siding with is top weight Prince Alzain at 4/1. He is unbeaten in 3 efforts over course and distance, the last of those seeing him easily beat the well regarded Universal off 8lb lower. Two subsequent efforts saw him finish within 5 and a half lengths of Hunter's Light and Declaration Of War and, though he hasn't looked in quite the same form in Pattern company after 10 months off, he should be respected back in a handicap at a track he loves. Oisin Murphy is well worth his claim and with the likes of Party Line (who is not out of this and has a good record with De Sousa on top) and Sound Advice, they should go quick enough for him to challenge. Wolverhampton 19.20 - Prince Alzain 1pt win
A very competitive handicap at Towcester gives AP McCoy a big chance of landing is 4000th winner but the issue with backing these horses is that the hype is giving his mounts a false price. The drying ground will be a plus but his effort last time was so far below his best that it's difficult to be too happy about 10/3. I'd rather side with Hollow Penny of the market principals and Alan King is in fine form after a treble at Warwick yesterday but I think there's a great deal more value to be had in an open contest. Venetia Williams appears to have hit form this season and Market Option should be progressive enough to win from a mark f 109. That's 7lb higher than for his win at the end of last season and, on the basis of his well held 2nd behind the very progressive Seymour Eric here in December, he can win a few races up in class this season. Heavy ground didn't look to suit on penultimate start but good to soft looks right and he is worth support at 9/1. Another 7 year old who has run well here before is Thoresby for a yard that is yet to hit rich form but has sent out some close seconds of late and deserve a winner. Thoresby's form here reads 3411, including a course and distance win off 12lb lower on quick ground, and his win here last time off just 2lb lower in May when going away at the finish suggests 25/1 is a little bigger than it should be. Last time was a disappointment over 3 miles but a drop back in trip is likely to suit and they'll hopefully go a decent enough clip to give him a chance from the back. He stayed on eye-catchingly at Ascot over a furlong shorter with Sam Twiston-Davies on top for th first time but the leaders had gone. He'll want things to fall just right but has strong place claims if they do. Towcester 14.10 - Thoresby 1pt e/w Towcester 14.10 - Market Option 1pt e/w

Evan Williams has revealead that Court Minstrel is being aimed at the StanJames.com Greatwood Hurdle, which takes place over an extended two miles on the third and final day of The Open, Sunday, November 17. Court Minstrel: Set to run at Cheltenham The six-year-old progressed into a high-class performer last season, capturing the Sussex Champion Hurdle on the way to an easy two and a quarter length success in the Grade Two Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr in April. He was sent off favourite for a two-mile Listed handicap hurdle on his return at Ascot earlier this month but could only finish eighth behind Pine Creek, beaten 20 lengths. Williams reported: "Court Minstrel is an intended runner in the StanJames.com Greatwood Hurdle now. "He came out of Saturday's run well, but the fact of the matter is that the handicapper has not budged him from that and so Court Minstrel has got an impossible task. "I don't think it was the ground on Saturday, I just don't think he was good enough off his revised mark. Make no mistake, I was hoping he would run well and he is as good a hurdler as we have had, but there is a lot of hype around the horse. "That's why we ran him in a handicap because if he was going to live up to the hype, he should have won or nearly won at Ascot. "If he was going to be a Graded horse, he would have coped with the rise in the weights, but he didn't. I am a little bit disappointed that handicapper has left him where he is because I can't see how he can be competitive off this mark." Court Minstrel, who knows what it is like to win at Cheltenham, having captured a maiden hurdle at the course in October, 2012, is 14/1 with the sponsors who have last year's runner-up Cash And Go, trained by Nicky Henderson, and the John Ferguson-trained Pine Creek as their 10/1 joint-favourites.

Our Conor will miss the StanJames.com Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on Sunday week after failing to fully recover from minor injuries suffered in his comeback run at Naas last month. Our Conor: Misses the Morgiana Last season's stunning Triumph Hurdle winner made a pleasing return to action when fourth in a Flat race at Naas, with connections immediately stating their intention to engage in a potentially mouth-watering clash with dual Champion Hurdle hero Hurricane Fly at Punchestown on November 17. However, plans are now fluid for the four-year-old. Trainer Dessie Hughes said: "He won't make the Morgiana. In his race the last day he got in the wars and came out of it with cuts and bruises. "I thought they'd heal quicker than they did do but it was two weeks before he was cantering again and he's only been cantering a week now. I wanted him 110% and I'm not willing to take a chance with him. "We'll just wait and find a conditions race somewhere before Christmas. He was never lame and I don't think it's anything major." Owner Barry Connell says he would not be concerned if his charge does not run again between now and the Festival Hurdle at Leopardstown at the end of December. Connell said: "He got a few knocks in Naas and he is 100% sound now, but he has missed some work and isn't going to be ready for the Morgiana. "He could go straight to the two-mile race in Leopardstown at Christmas. He's already had a run and after Christmas there is the race at the end of January (Irish Champion Hurdle), so there is no rush to run him."

Sky Bet quote 8/1 that AP McCoy rides 5000 winners after he reached the 4000 mark at Towcester. AP McCoy is 8/1 for 5000 winners with Sky Bet The Leeds-based firm offer 2/1 that he rides between 4000 and 4250, 11/4 about 4251 to 4500 inclusive, 9/2 about 4501 to 4750 inclusive and 5/1 about 4751 to 4999. Sky Bet's racing PR manager Michael Shinners said: "It's impossible to do justice to the great man but riding 4000 winners is a truly phenomenal achievement. "Whether he wants to carry on until he reaches 5000 is another matter, but for now we join punters throughout the land in toasting a true sporting great." William Hill chief executive Ralph Topping said: ''Congratulations AP. A living legend becomes an icon. Revered by punters, he regularly snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. "As a racing fan, I'm certain we'll never see another like him. As a bookmaker, that brings me nothing but relief.'' Hayley O'Connor of Ladbrokes commented: "McCoy is a phenomenon. His latest record has cost us a few quid yet again but it scarcely matters. "He has put racing in the news for all the right reasons and we salute him."
