Forgotten Voice is set to chance his arm in the Geelong Cup on Wednesday having missed the Caulfield Cup at the weekend. Forgotten Voice: Set for the Geelong Cup Nicky Henderson's eight year old had hoped to secure a berth in the Emirates Melbourne Cup by posting a big display at Caulfield on Saturday but the Royal Ascot winner failed to make the cut. Connections have had to quickly change their plans and they are now looking forward to running in the Geelong Cup as the stable's representative, Ryan O'Reilly, told www.racingvictoria.net.au. "It was quite disappointing missing Caulfield but we have to move on from that now and the plan is to go to Geelong on Wednesday and hopefully we'll have a good run there. "He's not the most straightforward horse to deal with but if he wasn't on his toes like he is every day we'd know that he wasn't right in himself," the 19 year old said. Forgotten Voice hasn't run since winning at Glorious Goodwood at the beginning of August but O'Reilly revealed that connections feel that he's at his best when fresh. "He's a horse that likes to be keen and go on that bit more but we have to keep him steady and keep him nice and fresh because we feel that he runs best when he's a bit fresh in himself and he's just like that at the moment," he commen Forgotten Voice: Set for the Geelong Cup

Charlie Hills is hopeful of a big run from Chriselliam in next month's Breeders' Cup at Santan Anita. Chriselliam: In good form ahead of the Breeders' Cup The two year old filly stepped up markedly on her previous performances when winning the Group One Fillies' Mile at Newmarket last time to earn herself a ticket across the Atlantic. She had finished well beaten on her racecourse debut back in May before comfortably landing a Warwick maiden at the second attempt but then cut little ice in a Group Three in France. However, she proved that form to be all wrong when running Saturday's Racing Post Trophy hopeful Chief Barker close at Haydock before striking at headquartes at 28/1. Richard Hughes was aboard that day and he was at Hills' yard in Lambourn at the weekend to ride work on Chriselliam before she leaves for America on Saturday. Connections are hopeful of a big run from the daughter of Iffraaj with the trainer telling his website: "We think she has a great chance but will need some luck in running as she has to be held up. Fingers crossed!!" Hills also had news of Just The Judge, Kiyoshi and Queen Catrine who left the yard on Friday having been roughed off for the season

The JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal is the likely next port of call for First Lieutenant after he was beaten on his seasonal reappearance at Punchestown last week. First Lieutenant: Not a bother on him The Mouse Morris-trained eight-year-old was runner-up in the Down Royal Grade One last year before going on to be placed in the Lexus Chase, the Ryanair Chase and the Punchestown Gold Cup. First Lieutenant did enjoy his day in the sun when winning the Betfred Bowl at Aintree's Grand National meeting. He was an odds-on favourite for his comeback run in the Star Best For Racing Coverage Chase but was beaten into third by fellow Gigginstown-owned runners Toner D'Oudairies and Roi Du Mee. While the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on November 2 is an option, Morris is favouring staying at home with his star stayer. He said: "There's not a bother on him and we were happy enough. They didn't go much of a gallop and it turned into a bit of sprint, but he'll improve for the run. "Depending on the ground, I think he'll probably go to Down Royal. We'll support our own races (in Ireland) first."

Plumpton, 21 October 2013
3.20, third race
The Stewards held an enquiry to consider the apparent improvement in form of the winner, JUST WHEN, ridden by Nico de Boinville and trained by Patrick Chamings, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer who stated that the gelding had benefitted from a break from racing and the application of the visor. He further added that the gelding appreciated the soft ground. Having heard his evidence they forwarded his explanation to the British Horseracing Authority so that the previous performances of JUST WHEN could be reviewed.
5.20, seventh race
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, HOPATINA (IRE), ridden by Michael Byrne and trained by Neil Mulholland, compared with its previous run at Wincanton on 16 February 2013 where the mare was pulled up. They noted the trainer’s explanation that the last time the mare ran it was not a true reflection of her ability as she made a very bad mistake. She had also strengthened up since her last run eight months ago. They ordered HOPATINA (IRE) to be routine tested.

Windsor, 21 October 2013
2.00, first race
The Stewards enquired into the load of Race 1 where it appeared that the stalls were numbered correctly from behind, but incorrectly from the front. They heard evidence from both Starters and forwarded a report to the British Horseracing Authority.
21/10/2013
Pontefract, 21 October 2013
The Stewards held an enquiry following an inspection which was held prior to the first race as a result of concerns as to the safety of the track from three furlongs out to two furlongs out. They interviewed riders Joe Fanning, Robert Winston and P J McDonald (also Safety Officer); trainers Bryan Smart, George Moore and Kristin Stubbs; the Veterinary Officer, Clerk of the Course and a Representative of the Course Executive. Having considered their evidence the Stewards were satisfied that, by dolling off the area of false ground from three furlongs out to two furlongs out, racing could continue.
2.10, first race
The Stewards noted that MUSICAL MOLLY (IRE), unplaced, had interfered with JIVE, unplaced, which in turn interfered with RUNNING WOLF (IRE), unplaced, which in turn interfered with THE WALLACE LINE, placed third, approximately two and a half furlongs out but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
The Stewards noted that NATIVE FALLS (IRE), unplaced, had interfered with BENTONS LAD, unplaced, leaving the stalls but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
The Stewards held an enquiry to consider why Paul Quinn, the rider of BENTONS LAD, had appeared to use his whip inappropriately at the start. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the incident they found him in breach of Rule (B)54.2 and guilty of improper riding. They suspended him for 2 days as follows: Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 November 2013.
3.10, third race
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference approximately one furlong out. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that WILD SAUCE, unplaced, ridden by Tom Eaves, had interfered with RYLEE MOOCH, unplaced, ridden by Connor Beasley, which in turn interfered with CHEVETON, unplaced, ridden by Louis Steward, which in turn interfered with LASTCHANCELUCAS, unplaced, ridden by NEIL FARLEY. The Stewards found Eaves in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his horse to drift right, thereby causing interference. They suspended him for 2 days as follows: Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 November 2013.
3.40, fourth race
The Stewards noted that the winner, LADY HEIDI, had interfered with SAFETY CHECK (IRE), placed second, inside the final furlong but after viewing a recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved LADY HEIDI’s placing.

16:10 Tuesday 22nd October Racing Tips - 22/10/2013
Exeter is set to have some serious rain overnight and the going could be quite testing come race time. It is difficult at this stage of the season to gauge yard form but Tim Vaughan has sent out some winners of late and Amok must have a great chance now upped in trip. He was a staying on 2nd when last seen over 2 miles on soft and returns here off the same mark. There are, however, plenty that like to go forward here and it could turn into a bit of a slog if the rain really comes. Ray Diamond has every chance on softer than he had here last time over 2 furlongs shorter on debut for this yard. The one that will really suit a staying contest is Pyleigh Lass who was 2nd over 3 miles here last term off 5lb lower. We have to forgive her a poor run last time out in May but on the form of her runaway win on penultimate start she still looks reasonably well treated. Ian Popham has a solid record on top and she looks the sensible option at 6/1 Exeter 16.10 - Pyleigh Lass 1pt e/w
I'm pretty desperate to back Fantasy Gladiator but he needs a good gallop to chase and is unlikely to get that at Kempton this evening. He was flying home on penultimate start over course and distance but this is up in class and unlikely to have the ferocious early fractions required. Loud could be too good for the field on second start, his first in handicap company, but the hope is that he isn't ridden for the lead, given that Sheikh The Reins has a chance of nicking this if allowed to dominate. He has a superb record over course and distance bar an effort on penultimate start when the winners came from the back. Well drawn to get a lead, there is really only Disco Inferno that will join him up front and Steve Drowne has finished 1st and 2nd from 2 starts on top of John Best's 4 year old. If they do go quick then he simply won't see it out but he has been competitive off a higher mark and can still win this sort of race if all falls right at 12/1. Kempton 18.40 - Sheikh the Reins 1pt e/w

Last season's Celebration Chase winner Sire De Grugy is in line to make his first start of the new campaign at Chepstow on Saturday in the totepool.com Home of King Size Pools Handicap Chase. Sire De Grugy: Set to blow away the cobwebs at Chepstow Trained by Gary Moore, Sire De Grugy has won four of his six starts over fences and despite being a novice got the better of former Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Finian's Rainbow at Sandown in April. Moore realises he may have to take on the immovable object that is Sprinter Sacre for the rest of the season, so is keen for his charge to have at least have one run before meeting Nicky Henderson's star. "I think he'll probably go to Chepstow as he's likely to get his ground," said Moore. "He galloped this morning and went well so as long as he scopes clean and his blood is right later in the week he'll run. He needs a run and he's bound to improve a good deal from it. "The thing is the next race for him is at Cheltenham, the Shloer Chase (November 17), where we'll have to take on that big, black thing (Sprinter Sacre) by the sounds of it. "In all those good two-mile chases this season if he's there it's likely to be small fields, but there's massive prize money so we'll go chasing some of it. If he doesn't go to Cheltenham he could go for the Haldon Gold Cup (Exeter, November 5) but Cheltenham is the plan. "He's got tremendous speed this horse, he gallops and mostly beats my 10-furlong horses, so I'm not too keen on stepping him up in trip." Meanwhile, Moore fears Well Refreshed could be too high in the handicap this season after his productive campaign last term. The nine-year-old prospered in the testing ground which prevailed for most of the last National Hunt season, winning four races including the valuable Grand National Trial at Haydock. His season ended in the Bet365 Gold Cup where he struggled on fast ground and it was a similar story on his reappearance at Cheltenham on Saturday. "The ground was too quick for him at Cheltenham on Saturday but I think the top and bottom of it is that he's just not a 140 horse," said Moore. "He's a horse that will always benefit from his first run, anyway, so I'd expect him to improve a good deal from it, and we know he likes it very soft. The Welsh National is still the plan with him and he'll have an entry in the Hennessy, too - he might get his ground there, you never know."

Declaration Of War will retire to Coolmore's headquarters in Fethard, Co. Tipperary following his final start in the Breeders' Cup Classic on November 2. Declaration Of War: Set to be retired The son of War Front was a disappointing favourite in the Lockinge Stakes on his seasonal reappearance in May but proved that form to be wrong when winning the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot. Defeats in the Eclipse, Sussex and Jacques le Marois were to follow but he went on to add another Group One to his CV when defeating Trading Leather and Al Kazeem in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York in a time bettered only by Sea The Stars. Trainer Aidan O'Brien told "Declaration Of War has danced every dance this season and will have one more run in the Breeders' Cup Classic. He has an unbelievable constitution and is a lot like Giant's Causeway, a big, powerful, strong traveller, so we're hopeful that he'll run well. "Unbeaten as a two-year-old in France, Declaration Of War won two of Britain's highest profile Group One's this summer and is a very imposing horse to look at," said Coolmore manager Christy Grassick. "His sire War Front is probably the most sought after stallion in America at the moment and his dam is a half-sister to star two-year-old and American classic winner Union Rags. He's a hugely exciting prospect
