There has been a degree of cut on both his starts and, while it will be much softer on Sunday, that should also make it a true test.” " Double Bluff 1:35 Longchamp

17:00 Sunday 20th October Racing Tips - 20/10/2013
It's not really an option to tip The New One at long odds-on but he will surely win at Kempton. I'm not sure Rock On Ruby can match him on reappearance and the Twiston-Davies Neptune winner should cope with however the race is run. I was really impressed with Alfraamsey at Plumpton last month over hurdles and, if he jumps like he did last time over fences when winning a Huntingdon Novice Chase, he has serious claims at 6/1. Marc Goldstein rarely finishes out of the op 3 on him and the 2 have a good record here together over smaller obstacles. This is tougher than last time and he is up 4lb but I'd rather be with something fit and in form than some of the others here that may make more appeal on the peak of last season's efforts. The other runner at the top of his game is Cape Elorn and he does look the likely winner. I'm a touch surprised the blinkers are off and really not sure why but 7/2 is probably a fair reflection of his chances now up in class. Kempton 17.00 - Alfraamsey 1pt e/w

Bath abandoned after jockeys kick up stink This afternoon's meeting at Bath has been abandoned because of "localised flooding", said a course official. Bath: Forced to abandon Drainage issues in an area of the weighing room led to the Flat fixture being called off after four races. A tweet posted by Bath racecourse read: "Abandoned meeting due to localised flooding in the weighing room area." Jockey Shane Kelly was in action at Bath and said there was "no other alternative" but to abandon. He said: "The drains were blocked at the bottom of the weighing room where the valets work. It wasn't very pleasant and everyone decided you couldn't possibly work in those conditions. "Unfortunately for Bath's stewards, there was no other alternative but to call the meeting off. It wasn't us jockeys who said we weren't riding - it was everyone. "More importantly than anything else, the valets couldn't work in those conditions. Enough was enough and common sense prevailed." Fellow jockey Jim Crowley said: "It's very disappointing that it had to come to this. The drains were overflowing with sewage and I felt so sorry for the valets who were paddling around in it all. "If Health and Safety had been there, the place would have been shut down immediately. "I felt very sorry for all the owners, trainers and staff who have gone down there with horses on a Sunday and for this to happen. It was basically the racecourse's fault. It wouldn't have been acceptable in any work place." A statement issued by the Bath stewards read: "The stewards held an inquiry following a complaint by the jockeys and valets as to the state of their changing room. "They interviewed Richard Hughes, George Baker and Jimmy Fortune, representing all the jockeys, and two jockeys' valets, the general manager and clerk of the course. "Having heard all their evidence and viewed the changing room the stewards abandoned the meeting as the riders and valets were unwilling to continue in the flooded conditions. "The stewards ordered a report to be forwarded to the British Horseracing Authority." The 11 European raiders that arrived in Australia on Saturday have reportedly settled in well in the Newminster Stakes at the quarantine centre at Werribee. Brown Panther: Looked in good condition The majority were given a light outing in the parade ring although the Mikel Delzangles-trained pair of Dunaden and Havana Gold stepped out onto the course very briefly on Sunday as an outing from their stable boxes. Red Cadeaux, who was only beaten by a nose in the 2011 Emirates Melbourne Cup, has reportedly woken up in fine shape with no reports of any concern coming out from any of the traveling handlers. Tom Dascombe's Brown Panther looked very well as he stepped off the float on Saturday and is in a similarly good condition. The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained Caravan Rolls On is on an Emirates Melbourne Cup course and is expected to be one of the first to step out onto the Werribee training circuit. "He didn't eat a lot but he did have a good drink of water, just a bit tired after the long flight", work rider Graham Clark told www.racingvictoria.net.au. "He traveled well otherwise and all being well he will step out on the track tomorrow," he added.

Trainer Corine Barande-Barbe is in no rush to decide whether Cirrus Des Aigles will head to the Far East later this year following another fantastic run in defeat in Saturday's QIPCO Champion Stakes. Cirrus Des Aigles: Hong Kong option Winner of the race in 2011 and second behind the mighty Frankel 12 months later, the seven-year-old was sent off favourite to regain his Ascot crown having looked right back to his best in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp. While he came up narrowly short, going down by a neck to the talented but fragile Farhh, Cirrus Des Aigles emerged with his reputation intact and connections are now considering a tilt at the Hong Kong Cup on December 8. Barande-Barbe said: "He has one or two cuts on his leg, which probably happened at the moment he got a bit bumped, but they don't seem too heavy and he is on his way home now. "It was another great performance from him. Maybe if he hadn't been bumped he could have started his run a bit earlier, but who knows what would have happened? That's racing. "He will be entered for the Hong Kong Cup tomorrow and we will let him come back from Ascot and see how he is. We will take our time with him and when we make a decision, we'll let everyone know. "As long as he's happy he will stay in training next year."

Richard Hannon's Olympic Glory may aim to add to his impressive Queen Elizabeth II Stakes victory in America next month. Olympic Glory: Breeders' Cup option The three-year-old colt spreadeagled his rivals in what looked a competitive race beforehand where he relished the soft ground in first-time blinkers at Ascot. While in the immediate aftermath of the race it was mooted that Olympic Glory was finished for the season, Richard Hannon jnr, assistant trainer to his father, has now raised the possibility of a trip to the Breeders' Cup. "There is every chance that we will take him to California," Hannon jnr said on www.richardhannonracing.co.uk. "The turns have not been the problem - it has been more a case of him not coming down the hills, and with all the racetracks in America being Flat he would be ok on that score. "We will talk to Sheikh Joaan (Al Thani, owner) and make a decision in midweek
