Cheltenham Competition RulesThe aim of the competition is profit. Everyone that finishes in profit is a winner, with the overall winner being the highest. No prizes... just for fun (sorry)! 1. Each day, you are allocated up to £100 of Monopoly money. You don't have to bet any of it, but what you don't bet is returned to the "bank" - scoring is based only on profit or loss. 2. All results will be at SP. Unlike the bookies, no rule 4. But like the bookies, bets will be paid out as first-past-the-post and official result. Each-way terms will be settled as per the standard place terms: No. of Runners (at the off) | Race Type | Place Terms | 2 - 4 | All | Win only | 5 - 7 | All | 1/4 first 2 | 8 - 11 | All | 1/5 first 3 | 12 - 15 | Handicap | 1/4 first 3 | 12+ | Non-handicap | 1/5 first 3 | 16+ | Handicap | 1/4 first 4 |
(Cribbed from Coral ) 3. Bet types: You can use the £100 in any way you wish. You might divide it across all the races or you might bet one race only, or not at all. So for some examples, you might: - pick one horse for the day and have £50 on it to win (or £25 each-way).
- put £10 on a forecast (or reverse forecast).
- have 2, 3 or more horses in a "dutch". (If you go dutch, just write your selections and total stake to be split. I will work out the individual stakes based on SP)
- Same day doubles, trixis and accumulators are OK too, but not split over different days please.
- Standard markets only please - no 'betting without the favourite' or 'extended place' markets etc.
4. To avoid confusion (as I'm easily confused) please put total stake. So you might say "£5 each way, total stake £10", or "£20 reverse forecast, total stake £40". 5. You might even have a "no bet" day. If you don't bet, you can't carry that £100 onto the next day, but as losses will go towards the scoring, "no bet" will at least mean that you don't have a minus day! 6. Remember, you only have £100 on any one day. If you miscount and stake more than that, I will recalculate your stakes in proportion to your original request. 7. Ideally, please try to post selections at least 5 mins before the off, although I won't be too strict on that. For simplicity, please post selections on this thread. ________________ If anything isn't clear, feel free to ask questions.

I think at SP stakes are: Chantry House 15/2. £20.29 EW. Sheskin. 6/1. £24.64 EW. Allart. 33/1. £5.07 EW. Thanks KP - I was hoping you'd do that. I do have access to a win Dutch calculator, but haven't come across each-way Dutches before. Googling didn't produce one either. I might need your assistance tomorrow too!
Please check my maths - I've not been betting recently, and am a little rusty.
Kimmypops setting the early pace with a win and place in his each-way Dutch. BC finding a winner to put him in the black. Lucky Liz's luck was all bad today with her two falling and unseating.

Thanks for the stakes KP. Please let me know how to do the calculation, or do you use an online calculator?
Another impressive day for Kimmy as he gallops impressivley onward.
Last years' winner poppy2 entered the race today, and immediately went in search of the winner.
BC turned his profit into a loss , whilst Lucky Liz's fortunes took an upward curve and closed to within a short-head of third place.
Louis is another to enter the race, but found the going against him today.
Again, please check my maths!

Kimmypops was never challenged, running out a comfortable winner of this year's Cheltenham Competition. Congratulations KP. Up into second place and into profit went Liz, finding the forecast of the Gold cup. The rest of the field failed to finish in profit, although poppy2 did manage to finish 3rd. Meanwhile, BC and Louis both pressed the self-destruct button. Kimmypops1.30. Allmankind. £23.10 EW. RETURNED £39.27 1.30. Sir Pyscho. £.6.11. EW. RETURNED £0 1.30. Solo. £20.79 EW.
