How do you rate all the Saturday race meetings along with their pop concerts compared to what is on offer on Sundays or most midweeks Is racing for racing fans or boozed up concert fans who could not care less about the racing taking place and would not know one end of the horse from another ?

One thing that's getting me Banger is that there's now too much to look at on a Saturday, and virtually nothing at all during the week. Yesterday for instance, there were up to 10 races I could have looked at, if we had been taking about 72-hour days, yet during the week I was hard pressed to find much of note. This week looks to be even worse, as I don't think there's even a single race for me to look at much before Thursday at the earliest. I don't know what they're trying to do with the racing, but I seem to be less satisfied with what's on offer year by year - perhaps it's old age! Oldtimer

When you look at the meetings yesterday with Newmarket,Ascot and York all clashing when you remember the big races that would be run usually on Wednesday and still drawing a crowd without the likes of Tom Jones strutting on stage . It Is Old Age

Just for us old codgers Banger, here's one to bring back memories of real racing during the week, the Oaks being run on the Thursday and the Derby on Saturday. www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=38735Oldtimer
