OK, call me "Sherlock". I narrowed it down to it having to be something wrong with that thread. The other thread on that particular board was fine. "Someone" had locked the thread, which meant that no one could post on it unless they were "staff". I have no way of knowing exactly when it was done, but as Banger posted on it on the 10th, it was probably sometime after that. Sadly, the culprit had not left any fingerprints or DNA behind, so it looks like they may escape punishment.  All we do know is, it has to be someone with Admin rights, which narrows it down to about 6 of us. I have now unlocked it. So you should be OK to post again now. BC  |

Thanks. Fine now. It was Banger who rang me about this as he couldn't post. I think remember something like this happening in the dim and distant past when only I had Admin. rights. I think it was because Proboards had added something to the forums and it changed members rights. Still OK now. |

 Indeed. Neither Banger nor anyone else could post, unless they had admin status. No, not this time. One of us with admin rights had clicked the "lock thread" button that appears to staff at the foot of a thread. Easy done. I remember completely editing one of Walter's posts once, when I clicked "modify" instead of "quote"!  Admin status can be a menace when in the wrong hands!!  SC
