When is Christmas? I was always under the impression Christmas was 25th December. The day we celebrate the birth of Christ. Like everybody's birthday it is one day. On the 17th December on the news it stated there was a big rush as people were going away for Christmas. 9 days before Christmas day. The next thing there will be a rush back on the 6th January after the Christmas holiday. 21 days later. I am waiting for electrical work to be done and was told a week ago it would be after Christmas. I said the 26th December would be fine. Oh no came the reply after the New Year. 2nd January would be fine I said. Oh no came the reply after the 7th January. Why didn't they just say we have enough money we are having 3 weeks holiday and will see you some time in the New Year. In these tough times when money is tight we should all have our nose to the grindstone and not want 3 weeks off work for Christmas. Barley sugar. Oh no I mean humbug.

First of all I agree with the first part of your post, having three weeks off for Christmas is just laughable If I had taken three weeks off I would have found cards waiting for me and not to wish me A Happy New Year but along with a P45 It's that humbug If you are quoting from A Christmas Carol remember been given an opportunity to repent after all. Scrooge does so and becomes a model of generosity and kindness EVERYBODY
