PUNTERS will be playing for combined Scoop6 pools of more than £1 million next week after the bet again proved elusive on Saturday afternoon.
While the Coral Scottish Grand National appeared to pose the biggest obstacle, the action did not get that far as none of the five remaining tickets going into the fourth leg contained 6-1 Newbury winner Lahaleeb.
That means there is a rollover of £697,513 in the win fund next weekend, while the bonus, which could not be won on Saturday, now stands at £291,220.
However there was good news for 31 winners of the place dividend which paid a healthy £2,965.80p.
Tote spokesman, George Primarolo, said: "It had looked beforehand to be a very competitive Scoop6 to solve, and that was the case, but the upside is that punters will now be playing for a seven-figure sum next Saturday."

JOCKEY Club Racecourses and the Epsom executive are resigned to this year's Derby having no sponsor, and their finances taking a significant six-figure hit, when Britain's premier Classic is run on June 6. Jockey Club chief executive Simon Bazalgette admitted on Sunday: "Although talks are still going on with potential partners, and the two-day meeting has been broken up into smaller sponsorship packages, we are prepared for the possibility that the Derby is run without a sponsor. "The loss of a long-term sponsor [Vodafone], just as the course was entering a period of major redevelopment, combined with the subsequent economic downturn, has made the task of finding a new sponsor that much harder." Conceding that the absence of a title sponsor would cost JCR "several hundred thousand pounds," Bazalgette added: "As a group, we are equipped to absorb the impact, if necessary." Regardless of whether British racing's richest event attracts a backer, this year's race will have a total prize fund of £1.25 million. Epsom executives, led by managing director Nick Blofeld, will continue the search for commercial support to the last possible moment, following Vodafone's final exit after last year's race. However, a deal will have to be signed within the next fortnight, if the successful commercial partner is to receive full value from publication of race conditions for the two-day programme in the Racing Calendar.

WHAT seemed the longest and most intractable dispute in the history of racing and betting, the refusal of Betfred to take Turf TV, has finally been settled in the early hours of Monday morning.
As of 5am Monday, Betfred can show pictures of all UK horseracing, ending a year's black out in their shops of the 31 non-SIS aligned tracks, which include many of the leading courses such as Newmarket, Goodwood, Newbury and Cheltenham.

CORAL has snapped up the services of Hayley Turner to join its team of racing pundits, and the company's betting-shop punters will be getting advice fromthe first woman to ride 100 winners in a calendar year in Britain throughout the Flat season, starting this weekend.
It is the first commercial deal to be announced for Turrner, 24, who was last week informed by the BHA that as a consequence of suffering a serious head injury on the Newmarket gallops, she would not be allowed to return to race-riding before next March at the earliest.
Coral spokesman, Dave Stevens said: "Like everyone in racing, we were disappointed by the news that Hayley was unable to return to the saddle this year, particularly following her record-breaking achievements in 2008.
"However we are delighted that she has agreed to join our team of racing pundits, and are sure Coral customers will enjoy listening to her expert views throughout the Flat season.
"Hayley has a huge following in betting shops up and down the country, and if she pinpoints as many winners to our customers as she rode, then it should be a profitable summer for her fans."
Turner said: "I am thrilled to be able to use some of my time on the sidelines to provide helpful information to Coral betting shop customers on Saturdays and for the othermajor mid-week festivals. I hope I will be able to point them in the right direction of some decent priced winners."

JAMIE SPENCER has maintained he "couldn't see a whole pile wrong" with his ride on beaten favourite Thomas Baines at Windsor on Monday evening after critical comments from race readers and television viewers. Spencer finished on the bridle in seventh on the 11-10 chance after being denied a clear run around two furlongs from home in the 5f maiden for two-year-olds. Racing Post analyst Gavin Beech wrote that Thomas Baines "got no run whatsoever" on the inside rail and finished hard-held as Spencer "gave up the ghost inside the final furlong". The ride sparked a flurry of comment on internet forums, while the comments in running on sportinglife.com read: "Chased leaders, nowhere to go from over 2f out, finished strongly with rider sitting still." A stewards' inquiry was called into Spencer's failure to ride out for sixth place, following which the former champion jockey was cautioned as to his future conduct in races for being in breach of rule 158 in that he allowed his mount to coast home. Interviewed later by At The Races, Spencer said of the Michael Bell-trained runner: "He was unlucky he didn't get the run of the race - it isthe luck of the draw when you get drawn 16. "It is just a case of not getting the rub of the green. If I rode the horse again I would ride him the exact same way because at Windsor when you get the drawn on the rails it is worth four or five lengths for you if the race works out. "Ideally, I wanted to make the running, but he wasn't quick enough. I can't see a whole pile wrong. "The stewards didn't inquire into the running and riding of the horse, they inquired into why I didn't ride out for sixth place, to which I said I didn't have much room in the last 50 yards. "I said the race was gone by then and of course they accepted that when I bumped Richard Hughes [on 10th-placed Captain Cool] the rules stipulate now that you sit up and take hold of your horse's head. "If I had continued to bump Richard Hughes I would have got out, but I would have got three or four days and in this day and age it just isn't worth it." Spencer said the prospect of a ban at a time when Classic trials are in full flow was in his mind. "When I went to move out to go I nudged Richard Hughes," Spencer added, "he shouted, obviously, as I unbalanced his horse. "It was unfortunate as I was on the best horse in the race. People who are emailing in, they can't understand that it's race-riding - I am on the fence with three horses around me if I barge out I get days. What's the point of missing three days' racing? "Luckily British racing is run by people with brains so they understood straight away when I said I was denied a clear run. "He is a lovely horse and one to follow."

A CASE management hearing in London on Friday is expected to confirm the date of the disciplinary inquiry into race-fixing charges against former owner Miles Rodgers, trainer Karl Burke and jockeys Fergal Lynch and Darren Williams.
The charges centre on 12 races during a five-month period in 2004, and the operation of various betting accounts, allegedly controlled by Rodgers, and were brought following a BHA review of the evidence in the Old Bailey race-fixing trial that collapsed in December 2007.
None of the four accused men are expected to attend Friday's hearing, which is designed to set out a timetable and resolve any legal and logistical issues ahead of the inquiry, but the legal teams representing Lynch and Williams will be present.
The inquiry is currently pencilled in to begin on June 8 with proceedings likely to last a fortnight.

FRIDAY'S meeting at Cork has been reduced to a five race card beginning at 6.05pm after the chase course was declared unraceable due to waterlogging.
The two chase races have been abandoned, and the going on the hurdle course is now described as soft to heavy.
Sunday's fixture at Gowran Park will be subject to an inspection on Saturday afternoon due to an adverse weather forecast.

We're all set for another big sporting weekend, featuring the World Snooker Championships, the London Marathon and the Bahrain Grand Prix
However, football has to be the centre of attention as promotion and relegation issues are decided up and down the country. In the Premiership, title chasing Manchester United face a Tottenham team still eyeing up the final European League spot, while there are sure to be tears as Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hull all fight for survival.
You're sure to have your own opinions on how things will pan out, but our tipsters try to pick out any bookie blunders.
ARSENAL V MIDDLESBROUGH It hasn't taken long for Andrey Arshavin to show why Arsene Wenger splashed the cash. The Russian stole the show at Anfield on Tuesday night and you can only see more of the same against a Middlesbrough side that have shipped four goals twice on their travels of late. Yes, the home team may have one eye on the Champions League, but, with Arshavin cup tied for that game, and the pressure off, we should see them turning on the style at The Emirates.
# Arsenal to win by 4 or more goals at 12/1
COLCHESTER UNITED V PETERBOROUGH UNITED Peterborough United need just one more win to guarantee promotion to the Championship but their push for promotion has hit the buffers somewhat after losing 2-0 to rivals Millwall at Easter. They just managed to squeek past Stockport County at London Road last weekend with the only goal of the game and this Saturday they take on an improving Colchester United side that have suddenly hit form despite playing for pride and little else. The U's recently beat The Lions at The Den and are more than capable of signing off their first season at Cuckoo Farm with a win against Darren Ferguson's Posh side.
# Back Colchester United to beat Peterborough at 9/2
