Roger Varian and Andrea Atzeni teamed up to clinch their second Group One prize of the weekend as Cursory Glance claimed the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
Fresh from tasting Classic glory for the first time with Saturday's Ladbrokes St Leger hero Kingston Hill, Varian unleashed Cursory Glance, the winner of the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot before finishing second in York's Lowther Stakes, at the highest level.
The 11-8 favourite tracked the leaders on her first appearance over seven furlongs before being nudged towards the front passing the final furlong marker. Lucida finished powerfully to make a race of it, but Cursory Glance held on by a neck.
Aidan O'Brien's course maiden winner Found ran a good race to finish third on just her second start.
Varian said: "Andrea felt she was running a bit lazy, and when he gave her a squeeze she took off. Perhaps she ended up in front a bit too long but it was a funny race.
"She has tremendous natural speed, is very talented and gets this trip well.
"She is a Group One winner now and that will probably be it for this season. Hopefully she will have a massive year next year.
"It has been a magical weekend and has not really sunk in yet.
"Kingston Hill is fine this morning but he had a tough race yesterday. If he bounces back from the St Leger and is 100 per cent then he deserves to be in the Arc line-up."

Epsom Oaks runner-up Tarfasha got back on the winning trail with a comprehensive victory in the Moyglare "Jewels" Blandford Stakes at the Curragh.
After finding only Taghrooda too strong on her Classic debut, Dermot Weld's filly disappointed when favourite for the Irish Oaks in July and was subsequently given a mid-season break.
Making her first appearance since, the daughter of Teofilo (11-10 favourite) was dropping in trip and class and moved sweetly throughout in the hands of Pat Smullen.
Ballydoyle pacemaker Shell House ensured an end-to-end gallop and kicked clear before the home turn. Tarfasha quickly reeled her in, however, and galloped all the way to the line to take the Group Two prize by a length and three-quarters.
Weld said: "That is probably her right trip. She was second in the Epsom Oaks but was just running out of stamina at the line, and she didn't get the mile and a half in the Oaks at the Curragh.
"She has been working well before this and I was confident that she would be difficult to beat.
"I will have to have a word with Sheikh Hamdan, but her end of season target will probably be the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf and we will have a look at the Prix de l'Opera (at Longchamp)."
Chicquita made a perfectly satisfactory debut for Aidan O'Brien, on her first appearance since winning last year's Irish Oaks for French handler Alain de Royer-Dupre.
The four-year-old became the most expensive horse ever sold at auction in Ireland when going under the hammer for six million euros at Goffs last November and finished off her comeback race to good effect to fill the runner-up spot.

Stepper Point led his rivals a merry dance in the Curragh's Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes.
Having been narrowly denied in both the King's Stand at Royal Ascot and the Nunthorpe at York by Sole Power, William Muir's stable star was the 9-4 market leader to gain a deserved success at this lower level.
The five-year-old showed his usual speed from the starting stalls and was quickly motoring along at the head of affairs for Martin Dwyer. A number of his rivals were soon struggling to go the gallop and although Sir Maximilian did his best to bridge the gap in the last of five furlongs, Stepper Point was much the best and passed the post two and three-quarter lengths to the good.
Muir said: "He's been competing at the top and never lets me down. People say he keeps getting beat but Sole Power is the best around. It's like me playing football against Messi and Ronaldo!
"He went over the top at this time last year but I'd say we'll have to go for the Prix de l'Abbaye. He's got three weeks to freshen up."
David O'Meara's Watchable clung on to victory in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund "Bold Lad" Sprint Handicap.
Third in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and again in the International Stakes at the same track in July, the British raider dropped back to six furlongs for his first start in Ireland and was ridden positively from the off by Daniel Tudhope.
Having moved smoothly to the front a full three furlongs from home, he took a couple of lengths out of the field heading towards the final-furlong marker and looked set for a clear-cut victory. However, Zalty kicked in the turbo in the closing stages and there was just a head in it at the line.
Forest Edge and Arctic Feeling finished third and fourth respectively in the opener on day two of the inaugural Irish Champions Weekend.
Tudhope said: "I was a bit concerned about the ground and I probably got there (the front) too soon, but he stuck it out well. He's been racing over seven furlongs and not quite getting home. He's still a bit green and I could hear the other horse coming, but I felt I'd just held on."
Midterm Break emerged victorious in a British-dominated finish to the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes.
With 200,000 euros up for grabs, there was a strong raiding party in the six-furlong contest.
The David Barron-trained Midterm Break (16-1) had seemingly struggled in three starts since winning at Beverley in May, but battled on tenaciously in the hands of Graham Gibbons to take the lucrative prize by a fast-diminishing half a length.
Karl Burke's Explosive Lady finished with a rattle in second, just ahead of Richard Fahey's favourite Realtra in third.
Gibbons said: "He took me into a nice position and picked up nicely.
"That's definitely one of my biggest wins."

Kingman's planned outing in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot next month is in doubt due to a throat infection.
The John Gosden-trained miler has swept all before him since finishing second in the Qipco 2000 Guineas, most recently winning the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville, his fourth Group One success of the season.
Speaking at Longchamp, Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said: " Kingman has a throat infection, which was discovered Saturday. I have spoken with Prince Khalid. Obviously it is less than ideal for a preparation going into a big race, but it (QEII) is still a month away."
Grimthorpe added: "We would be hopeful of still getting him to the QEII, but it is far from certain.
"You know when you have a sore throat, how long does it take to go? Sometimes it is quick, sometimes it's not. I cannot put a time on it.
"We would want to be sure that the horse is 100 per cent fit before we do anything, and then we can make a decision on his immediate future and also on his whole future.
"But at the moment, the main aim is the QEII. If he doesn't make that then we still have the option of the Breeders' Cup.
"And again, that would not precipitate a decision on his future either."

Champions Day at Ascot is the likely next port of call for Australia following his shock defeat at Leopardstown on Saturday. ![http://e0.365dm.com/14/06/768x576/horse-racing-day-two-curragh-racecourse-australia-joseph-o-brien_3165073.jpg?20140628175959](http://e0.365dm.com/14/06/768x576/horse-racing-day-two-curragh-racecourse-australia-joseph-o-brien_3165073.jpg?20140628175959) Australia: On course for Ascot next month? Aidan O'Brien's dual Derby hero and emphatic Juddmonte International winner was long odds-on to add another Group One prize to his collection in the Irish Champion Stakes, but York form was reversed as International runner-up The Grey Gatsby gained his revenge. Australia could now head to Ascot, with both the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over a mile and the mile and a quarter Champion Stakes under consideration on October 18. O'Brien said: "Everything that could go wrong went wrong. He was handy and the pace was on and then the pace came back to him and he had to go to the outside of James Doyle's horse (Al Kazeem) and then he couldn't get back behind him. He ended up having to go early. "The boys will decide where he goes next. Obviously there is Champions day, and they will decide whether it is the mile and a quarter race or the mile. "He travels very strongly through his races and he did the same again yesterday, so I doubt he will go for the Arc. We'll talk things through but we won't be making any decisions yet - it will be the middle of the week before I can deal with it all. "I think it was about 4am this morning when it finally started to sink in, but that's racing. It's been a weekend full of ups and downs, and at least we were able to get some nice winners on board with Gleneagles and John F Kennedy." The trainer's son Joseph has come in for some criticism for his riding tactics and the jockey admitted that with hindsight, he would probably have opted for different tactics. He told At The Races: "It's a great game. You have your ups and your downs. "Australia ran a good race. Things probably couldn't have gone much worse for me and things probably couldn't have gone better for the winner. "On the day I just got touched off, but we live to fight another day. "I'd probably do it slightly different if I had it back again, but hindsight's a great thing and we live and learn and it won't happen again. "I went very wide and plenty of things went wrong for me. It would be great if we could ride every race again, but unfortunately we can't. "I'm really looking forward to wherever he goes."

Australia: Victoria police have started an investigation after a rider died following a fall from a horse at Cranbourne racetrack on Monday morning.
The female harness driver, thought to be in her 30s, was found unconscious in a garden bed at around 7.10am but was unable to be revived after suffering serious head injuries.
Police believe she was riding one horse and leading another when she fell.
In a statement released by Harness Racing Victoria, CEO John Anderson said: "It is a tragic accident and a terrible loss for the industry. We have arranged counselling for those who were present at the training complex this morning.
"In due course the coroner will refer his findings to the police as part of the investigations.
"Until that investigation is complete HRV is unable to comment further."
The Victorian WorkSafe authority are investigating the incident and police are preparing a report for the coroner.

TRADE STORM put the seal on a fantastic night for David Simcock when he completed a Grade 1 double for the Newmarket trainer at Woodbine in Toronto following the success of stablemate Sheikhzayedroad a couple of hours earlier in the Northern Dancer Turf.
The European presence on one of Canada's showpiece cards consisted of just one trainer and two horses - and both of them scored in similar fashion, coming from well off the pace before being driven home.
While Martin Lane was at his strongest to win his first Group/Grade 1 on Sheikhzayedroad, it was Jamie Spencer who partnered Trade Storm to win the feature event, the Can$1 million (£555,000) Ricoh Woodbine Mile.
Qatar Racing's six-year-old had been third last year to none other than dual Breeders' Cup Mile winner Wise Dan but there was nothing of his calibre on show this time and Trade Storm took full advantage as he scored by a half-length over top domestic hope Kaigun with front-running Bobby's Kitten keeping on for third. The winner was returned a 9-2 chance on the local tote.
"He settled well off a strong pace," said Spencer, enjoying a lucrative success for his retaining stable before taking up his management position at the end of the season. "I felt confidence in the horse that he was always going to pick up," added the jockey.
Although Trade Storm hadn't won since March 2013, the attractive son of Trade Fair had run several good races against Europe's top milers. Although the rain got into ground described as 'good', on paper the shape of the race looked tailor-made for the Simcock runner, with plenty of pace to shoot at under a 'Jamie Spencer special'.
So it proved as the horse missed a beat at the break - perhaps a deliberate manoeuvre - and settled towards the rear before easily making up ground as they turned into the long (by North American standards) Woodbine stretch and he was skilfully threaded through horses by Spencer.
"I've ridden the horse for the last 18 months," said Spencer. "Sheikh Fahad picked him out himself when he won in Dubai one night and bought him. He is reaping dividends now and he's won quite a bit of prize-money in the last two years.
"Obviously the ground was a little softer than ideal for him but we didn't have Wise Dan to contend with so it looked a good spot for him. The trainer, he's brought two horses here tonight and both of them have won - it's a happy ending."
After claiming this Simcock nominated the Breeders' Cup Mile as a likely target after this 'Win-and-You're-In' contest, which offered an all-expenses-paid berth to Santa Anita.
"That's special, that one," said Simcock. "I mean they're both special but he's really one of my favourites of all time out of all the horses I've trained.
"It's been frustrating with him sometimes, but even when he gets beat I adore the horse massively, so it's a really special result. I think it is special for the jockey as well.
"He'll probably take up ‘the win and he's in' and go down to Santa Anita and enjoy himself and see how we get on. He'll get his fast ground, and a fairly strong pace, which suits.
"It will probably be a tougher race but he is in excellent order and he never disgraces himself. When there's a lot of pace into the race, he travels very strongly into it and he's got a nice pick up. All he needed was the gaps and he maneuvered his way through."

Sheikhzayedroad (David Simcock/Martin Lane) set up a memorable night for his stable with a hard-fought victory in this $300,000 contest - but not until he had survived a nail-biting stewards' inquiry.
Under a strong drive from Martin Lane, who was partnering his first winner at the top level, the five-year-old went through a gap on the rail before getting the better of Dynamic Sky and front-running Reporting Star.
But although Sheikhzayedroad was clear winner on merit, he drifted away from the rail in front of Reporting Star in the last couple of strides.
Reporting Star, whose rider lodged a claim of foul (objection) also brushed the runner-up Dynamic Sky, and while it was far too late to make the slightest bit of difference to the result, Canadian rules aren't the same as those in play in Britain, and the outcome was looking a touch iffy for the Newmarket visitor before the all-clear was announced after an agonising delay.
"He's gone to win real easy and he's probably got a length up," Lane said. "But the wire is a little more daunting than it is back home and he just had a look at it and slowed down himself. It cost him more than anything."
Sheikhzayedroad, who was completing a hat-trick this term for owner-breeder Rabbah Bloodstock, was sent off 3-1 second favourite behind disappointing market leader The Pizza Man.
Settled in last off a surprisingly tepid pace in the early stages before making headway down the back straight, the British gelding was ridden to get into contention on the far turn and then fought his way to the lead inside the final furlong. The son of Dubawi, who did not run on Lasix, scored by a half-length over 24-1 shot Dynamic Sky.
"The race couldn't have worked out any better," said Lane. "He was able to come around the reins side all the way and when we straightened up he picked up all the way to the line for me.
Simcock, who is now eyeing a return visit to the Canadian International on October 19, could reflect on an excellent piece of placing. "Really pleased, lovely race to win," said the trainer.
"He's a grand horse - not straightforward but he tries really hard. He has his quirks. He runs about a bit, but that's normal for him. He did a lot worse when he was a younger horse, I assure you, and he never wins by far. He thinks he's done enough once he's got there. He's terrific. He's a traveller. He loves going to different places, Dubai, here and he'll go elsewhere in the future."
Simcock added: "We've got an option of the International on the 19th. He's got an entry the same day at Ascot. I'll speak to his owner and decide where he is going. We'll either come back here or go to Ascot and then he'll go to Dubai and start his travels again."

16:10 Monday 15th September Racing Tips - 15/09/2014
Just the one at Musselburgh today in the form of Jan Smuts. There's not many in this field on the up and so shortish prices about them are putting me off. There's also a chance of rain to consider and a likely good gallop given a few that will look to dominate (hopefully they don't fear the Johnston runner and allow him a soft lead). Jan Smuts will want a good, even test and any rain would be welcomed. His course and distance record reads 1124, with that 4 coming in this race last year when he was sent off at 6/1 off 1lb lower but completely blew the start. This is tougher than his last few races where he's be running consistently, doing his best work late on quickish ground, but he's certainly worth a play at 11/1. Musselburgh 16.10 - Jan Smuts 1pt e/w

Ivanhowe is suddenly hot property for jockeys hoping to secure a coveted ride in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on October 5.
The German colt claimed the not inconsiderable scalp of Sea The Moon, who misses the Arc due to injury, at Baden-Baden earlier this month when he scooted three lengths clear in the Grosser Preis von Baden.
Jean-Pierre Carvalho's four-year-old was immediately nominated for Europe's premier middle-distance race, in which he is now as low as 9-1 in what has become a rather frenetic betting market.
Filip Minarik was at the helm at Baden-Baden, but connections said no fewer than three high-profile riders have already stated a desire to take over at Longchamp.
"We have had some offers from three international jockeys to ride him," said Gebhard Apelt, manager for his owners, Gestüt Schlenderhan.
"But the last decision will be with all the big trainers and big owners who have contracts with the jockeys and who have possible runners in the race.
"At the moment, all is calm and relaxed and we would very much like to take him to the Arc.
"So far, everything looks good and we hope it stays good for the next two weeks.
"The horse looks very well and has been working very well so we would go to France with lots of excitement."

Royal stayer Estimate will not run in the Emirates Melbourne Cup at Flemington, said John Warren, bloodstock and racing advisor to the Queen.
Connections of the Sir Michael Stoute-trained mare will resist the urge to send the five-year-old to Australia for the coveted prize on November 4, instead opting to stay closer to home after she impressively returned to winning ways in the Doncaster Cup on Friday.
Estimate will now have one more outing, at either Ascot or at Longchamp, before she is retired to embark upon a career as a broodmare.
Warren said in a statement issued to Press Association Sport: "After much consideration and in the best interest of the filly, it has been decided that Estimate will not be heading to the Melbourne Cup.
"Her final target will be either the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot or the Qatar Prix du Cadran at Longchamp, after which she will be retired to The Royal Studs."
Last season's Gold Cup heroine may have run heroically to finish second in defence of her crown at Royal Ascot in June, but just a month a later she returned a positive test for morphine.
Estimate was one of a cluster of horses to have become embroiled in the case, with the source of the drug identified as a contaminated batch of horse feed.
Even so, she is still likely to be disqualified from this season's Gold Cup at a British Horseracing Authority hearing on September 25.

Jamie Osborne will "roll the dice" and allow Toast Of New York to run in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita on November 1.
The Upper Lambourn handler accepts the colt must overcome the issue of not yet having competed on a dirt surface, but has been fuelled by optimism following his fine effort at Del Mar on August 24.
Toast Of New York finished an excellent second behind Shared Belief in the mile-and-a-quarter Pacific Classic, in which the venerable Game On Dude was fourth.
Should things go to plan at Santa Anita, this year's UAE Derby winner will return to Meydan next March for the Dubai World Cup.
Osborne told At The Races: "That (Breeders' Cup Classic) poses a lot of questions, but they are questions that need answering.
"People who know more about dirt racing than I do say he's got the physique and action of a dirt horse.
"We'll roll the dice and have a go.
"As a trial for Breeders' Cup Classic, forgetting the surface issue, it (the Pacific Classic) was probably the best there has been.
"It wasn't flaky form, put it that way."

Dutch Connection has run his last race of the season and will reappear in a 2000 Guineas trial next spring. Trained by Charlie Hills to win the Acomb Stakes at York's Ebor meeting, he finished third behind the Aidan O'Brien-trained Gleneagles in the National Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. "He travelled really well but was then just found for a turn of foot," said Hills on his website, www.charleshills.com. "However, he was staying on again at the end of the race and looks like he needs a mile now. "He wasn't beaten far by a highly regarded horse, and we'll put him away for the year and aim at a Guineas trial in the spring. "He was very much the biggest horse in the paddock and has the size and scope to improve considerably over the winter." Hills also had news of a couple of other smart juveniles from his yard, Dancetrack and Aces, who ran a big race in the Champagne Stakes. "Dancetrack got us off the mark for the week when winning easily in a good time at Leicester. There's plenty more to come from him and he could be one for the Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket," said Hills. "Aces ran a cracker in the Champagne Stakes where his inexperience caught him out, however he wasn't beaten far by some very well regarded horses. He's another with a great temperament and all things being equal will be aimed at the Horris Hill."

Trainer Clive Brittain received a considerable boon by the news Rizeena is likely to stay in training as a four-year-old.
This season's Coronation Stakes winner turned in another fine effort in Ireland this weekend when she finished an honourable second behind Fiesolana in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.
Rizeena has already had a busy year, with Brittain keen to protect his prized asset with a view to next season.
The Newmarket handler said : "She keeps running at a high level every time she runs.
"We were just beaten by a good one on the day, so there are absolutely no regrets about going there.
"She's come back very well from Ireland but we need to discuss whether she runs again this year.
"It wasn't an easy race in Ireland and she also had to do plenty of travelling - you can't throw a horse into a Group One every weekend.
"The owners are keen to have her in training again next season so why empty the tank now?
"We've seen that happen to a lot of good horses over the years."
Rizeena still holds entries in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot, should Brittain and owner Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum opt to go to the well once again.

Henry Candy's exciting Limato is still in the mix for Saturday's Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury.
Unbeaten in three starts to date, he was last seen beating Cotai Glory in a Newbury Listed race with Charlie Hills' youngster going on to win the Molecomb before jinking and unseating his rider when a likely winner of the Flying Childers at Doncaster last week.
Limato was due to run in the Gimcrack but was a late absentee after a dirty scope.
Hills could be represented by Strath Burn, who ran a blinder on his second start in France in the Prix Robert Papin when just touched off by Kool Kompany, who could reoppose for Richard Hannon, along with stablemate Baitha Alga.
Hills' father Barry may be represented by Kibaar while Mick Channon could run Bossy Guest..
Godolphin's Charming Thought and Portamento and Mark Johnston's consistent Jungle Cat are others likely to be popular with punters.
Brian Meehan has left in Fox Trotter and Growl while William Haggas could turn to Mubtaghaa, winner of a sales race at York.
Karl Burke's Toocoolforschool and Bryan Smart's Fendale represent northern interests among the 14 remaining.

Groovejet will be trained this autumn in the hope of making the cut for t he Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket.
Despite having finished second in the Group Two Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster last week, owner-breeder Phil Cunningham feels the big staying handicap on November 11 represents too good an opportunity to pass up.
The daughter of the Cunningham-owned Cockney Rebel, who won both the English and Irish Guineas in 2007, has this summer improved each time she has gone up in trip and in class.
Peter Chapple-Hyam's inmate also finished a good fifth behind Missunited in the Lillie Langtry Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
Cunningham said: "She ran a lovely race at Doncaster.
"She looked like she was run off her feet at one stage, but she always finds more.
"The plan all along was the Park Hill - we sort of took in the Lillie Langtry along the way.
"I've spoken to Peter and, all being well, the Cesarewitch is where she goes.
"The big question is whether she'll get a run or not, but she shapes as though the two-and-a-quarter-mile trip will suit.
"There are not many times when you'll get a horse running in a race like that with so little weight."

The 2015 All-Weather Championships Finals Day at Lingfield on Good Friday will be broadcast live on Channel 4.
After having received widespread praise for the inaugural staging of the meeting, racing's sole terrestrial television station has now picked up the gauntlet.
Jamie Aitchison, Channel 4 commissioning editor for sport, said: "After the success of last year's launch, we are delighted to bring the 2015 All-Weather Championships Finals Day for the first time to terrestrial viewers.
"Our final 2015 broadcast schedule will be announced in due course."
With £1million in prize-money up for grabs, the richest all-weather raceday in Europe will be held on April 3 - two weeks earlier than this year.

David O'Meara's Curragh winner Watchable heads a strong team for the North Yorkshire trainer in the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup at the confirmation stage for the Ayr showpiece.
The four-year-old bagged a big handicap on Irish Champions Weekend and O'Meara can also call on the likes of Louis The Pious, Out Do and Highland Acclaim.
As expected Muthmir has been taken out by William Haggas, who has his sights set on a Listed race at Ascot on October 4.
At the head of the weights is Jim Goldie's Jack Dexter, as the long wait for a Scottish-trained winner goes on.
All the other leading ante-post fancies such as the Richard Fahey trio of Eastern Impact, Alben Star and Rene Mathis, Richard Hannon's Ninjago and Ger Lyons' Burn The Boats have stood their ground.
Mass Rally, Blaine, former winner Captain Ramius and Barnet Fair are others still engaged.
Those who fail to make the cut for the big race have the option of running in the Silver and Bronze Cups.

Charlie Hills has raised the possibility of his rapid two-year-old Cotai Glory running in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp if the ground is suitable. The juvenile looked poised to add the Flying Childers at Doncaster to the Molecomb Stakes he won at Goodwood when he jinked and unceremoniously dumped George Baker on the turf just yards from the line. He again showed blistering speed though, and in receipt of all the allowances in France, he could take some catching. However, Hills will be hoping the weather in France stays dry as Cotai Glory thrives "What happened to Cotai Glory and George has been a major talking point, but the main thing is both the horse and jockey are OK and we live to fight another day," said Hill on his website, www.charleshills.com. "He's clearly one of the fastest things on four legs over five furlongs and we will watch the weather as regards his next run. "There's only really the Abbaye and the Cornwallis for him and he must have fast ground. If the ground changes you may not see him again this year, but we've got something special to look forward to next year." Hills enjoyed a good St Leger meeting, highlighted by the victory of back-to-form Kiyoshi in the Sceptre Stakes. "At the other end of the spectrum we were thrilled to see Kiyoshi back in the winners enclosure," he said. "She's really come to herself in the last month and it's been well documented she did a great bit of work in the cheek pieces. Jamie gave her a fantastic ride and at the moment we are leaning towards running her in the Sun Chariot (October 4, Newmarket), where she'd have to have a great chance."
