TIP OF THE DAY La Liga co-leaders Atletico Madrid and Barcelona duel at the Vicente Calderon tomorrow evening, and at the half way point of the season it's realistic to think both managers will be primarily focused on avoiding defeat. Simeone has built his side on defensive strength (11 conceded in 18) and will look to harangue a Barca side expected with Messi still on the bench. Look for a low-scoring, tight affair.

TIP OF THE DAY The 2014 Davis Cup gets going this weekend and we like Italy as an each way bet at 66/1. In the opposite half to Spain, France and defending champs the Czech Republic, the value undoubtedly lies in the weaker bottom section. Fognini and Seppi are decent top 20 players that should at least split the singles with most countries whilst the Fognini/Bolelli pairing had a lot of doubles success last year, going 14-2 on tour. They should get the better of Monaco and Berlocq in Argentina this week which sets up a quarter final with GB or USA. The Italians have more talent so would likely be favourites against either. They'd then likely face Serbia or Switzerland who are both beatable given Djokovic and Federer may not compete whilst the Serbs are without Troicki and Tipsarevic is off the boil.

After a month away, darts returns to our screens, with both the Premier League and the BDO's new World Trophy beginning tonight.
It is the PDC's offering that will interest most darts fans as questions focus on Phil Taylor. The Power has decided the best way to bounce back from his early defeat at the World Championship is to adopt a juice only diet and change his darts. Given previous attempts at losing weight quickly and his disastrous spectacle wearing idea both coincided with poor form and were quickly abandoned, it'd be a brave man that backs him to hit the ground running.
Instead, the dartist to get onside is Gary Anderson. The Scot had an awful 2013 that saw him slip out of the top 16, and that explains his odds here to some extent. However, it fails to acknowledge that Anderson was much more like his best at Alexandra Palace, unfortunate to be ko'd by eventual winner Michael van Gerwen, and he has started the season in fine form by winning the German Darts Championship, averaging 108 in the process. As the 2011 Premier League darts winner, we know he is capable when at his best, so 33/1 looks a great price.
A brief mention to the BDO World Trophy too. Following Stephen Bunting's switch to the PDC, the betting is far more open, with the money on Robbie Green worthy at 9/1. In the women's event, Aileen de Graaf's impressive performance at the Lakeside has gone largely unnoticed by odds setters, but she has maintained her form in beating Anastasia Dobromyslova last weekend. At just 23 years old, she's on an upward spiral, unlike most of her 40-something rivals, so there's plenty of reason to back her at 14/1.

Tomorrow's early fixture of Ireland v Wales could go a long way to deciding the 2014 Six Nations championship. Last week's matches served as a good pipe-opener, and we wouldn't be reading too much into either performance; more a case of job done.
There is a real bite to these clashes and it could go either way, but with the market edging to Ireland we have to edge to Wales. Discipline will be crucial; BODs Lions axe still rankles with the Irish camp and we suspect emotions may get the better of them. Contrastingly, Gatland's Wales are a well oiled machine on this stage and should be less prone to the rush of blood that concedes three points and the advantage in a game of margins.
Scotland once again lacked a clinical edge in Dublin, and though they are a talented side it's incredibly frustrating to back them. England have won once in their last four visits to Murrayfield, and we wouldn't be in a rush to take the 1/5 here, despite their dominance in Paris. The annual 16/1 Calcutta Cup no tryscorer gamble is the way to go.
How England didn't manage to win the aforementioned Parisian affair we'll never know, and even stranger is the fact France were tournament favourites post-match after getting battered for the majority of it. Italy showed plenty of verve in Cardiff, and having won two of their last three matches against Les Bleus we're all over the 16/1 for a first win in the French capital.

TIP OF THE DAY It's not often we put up the favourite in golf tournaments, but Dustin Johnson looks to have an outstanding chance at 12/1 in this week's Northern Trust Open. It's entirely likely he would have walked away with the silverware last week were it not for a disappointing 2nd round on Monterey Peninsula, which can be put down to a lack of recent tournament golf. The 8-time PGA tour winner will have no such issues this week, and Riviera CC has been a happy hunting ground for Johnson in recent years with two top-5s and an additional top-10 finish in three of his last five visits

The UK Open darts has been moved from its usual spot in June, with this year's event getting underway tomorrow. This means it begin less than 24 hours after tonight's Premier League darts - not ideal for the big names partaking in both tournaments. It is because of this and the FA Cup style random draw of the event that the favourites are begging to be opposed. BDO World Champ Stephen Bunting (33/1), Brendan Dolan (80/1) and Andy Hamilton (50/1) have all begun the year in good form, having each won one of the qualifying events. They're also the consistent sorts that are unlikely to lose to players ranked lower than they are, making the trio well capable of taking full advantage should the draw open up as it often does.

D-DAY FOR DAVIE 19/03/2014 Stranded in seventh in the league, Man United must win the Champions League to have any chance of continuing their record of 18 consecutive appearances in the competition. We'd be more inclined to take Olympiakos at 200/1 than United at 50s.
Despite the humbling 0-3 loss to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday (their fifth of the season), the money is coming at 2/1 for Moyes' men to overturn the two goal deficit. Few positives can be taken from events in Manchester but Olympiakos have doubled their season defeats since the first leg - Panathinaikos and PAOK adding to the earlier losses inflicted by PSG.
Only five times in their last fifty away from home have the Greeks failed to score though so a United clean sheet looks doubtful and there's been little to suggest an abject Rooney, RVP and co. have the ability to hit four. Only once in their last fifteen have the Devils scored more than twice.
We'd go 2-1 United. Back it at 15/2 with Paddy Power who refund if they do somehow manage to scrape through. A valiant effort may save Davie's bacon, at least until the next humiliation. City await next Tuesday with knives sharpened.

TIP OF THE DAY Wawrinka ended the big four's slam domination in Australia and all of a sudden they all look fallible. Murray and Nadal were both dumped out early last week whilst Djokovic dropped sets to Gonzalez, Cilic, Isner and Federer on his way to the title. A resurgent Fed is the popular choice at 6/1 in Miami but we'd want much bigger. Isner is the one who catches the eye at 100/1. The American giant saves his best for his home country as shown in his run last week and the draw's given him a decent chance with Stan and Berdych the top seeds to negotiate before a potential semi with Rafa. Serve well and he'll have a chance against anyone so having the likes of Tsonga, Dolgopolov, Gulbis, Ferrer and Delpo at shorter odds looks an error.

Back-to-back wins for the first time this year has given Moyes belief heading into tonight's derby. Pellegrini added fuel to the fire by saying "there is just one club in Manchester and it is ours" but the odds reflect the Chilean's chide with City 6/5 to win at Old Trafford, an unthinkable price in the bygone Fergie era.
Van Persie and Aguero are both missing so the onus will be on Rooney to lead the United line. Wazza is 7/1 to score first after bagging a double at the weekend whilst Paddy Power refund bets if he scores last. YouWin meanwhile are refunding losing bets on the match winner if Negredo nets first.
After Steven Gerrard was a post width away from scoring a hat-trick of penalties at Old Trafford it might be wise to back City's spotkick taker, Yaya Toure, at 8/1 to open the scoring. The Ivorian is 100/1 to go one better than Stevie G and bag a hat-trick for the second game running.
City haven't been too convincing of late but should have enough to get the win, we wouldn't rush to back them at the short price though. Both teams have scored in six of the last seven derbies so it's probably wise to take City to win and both teams to score at the bigger price of 17/5.

TIP OF THE DAY Maria Sharapova has been in poor form of late, losing to Pavlyuchenkova and Giorgi in recent tournaments and her performances in Miami have also failed to convince, dropping sets to Safarova and Flipkens, Kvitova presents a tougher test and the Czech should be full of confidence after double bagelling Ivanovic from a set down yesterday. With Maria looking fragile, we're siding with Kvitova to take advantage at 13/10.

Another abject failure at home last night for David Moyes but no signs as yet that Man United are ready to banish the chosen one. Would a double figured defeat to Bayern next week be humiliation enough to dethrone the Moyesiah? He's 13/2 to be next out with Fergie 7/1 from 33/1 to take charge of a game before the end of the season.
Whilst United were being humbled by City, Bayern sealed the Bundesliga in record quick time signalling improvement from the side that smashed Barca home and away last year. Ominous signs. Munich are 15/2 to win by at least four and make a further fool of Moyes on April 1st.
To make matters worse for Davie, Everton won their fourth straight game last night and are now very much in contention for a top four berth, cut from 20/1 before the weekend to 9/2. A last minute Flamini own goal could prove costly for Arsenal who are out to 1/4 from 1/20.
Tonight, only a win will do for Liverpool's title hopes against struggling Sunderland. The visitors have lost four of their last five and failed to score in their last three (against Hull, Palace and Norwich) so even odds as big as 18/1 aren't tempting. Luis Suarez at 8/1 to score another hat-trick looks like a better place to put your money.

With just two weeks to go until the Masters, the PGA tour heads to San Antonio for this week's Valero Texas Open. There are a handful of players for whom TPC San Antonio is a happy hunting ground year after year but it's 2011 winner Brendan Steele who gets the nod this week. Steele currently ranks 3rd on tour in Total Driving and he looks a great bet to get into contention this week at 35/1.

Liverpool take on Sunderland at Anfield tonight where they will be looking to keep up their prolific recent goal scoring form.
The Reds have won their last six league matches, in which there has been an average of 5.5 goals per game, and we’re 3/1 that Liverpool will beat Sunderland in a match that contains five or more goals.
We also have top Spanish La Liga action with all three title chasers playing tonight. Place a £10 treble on Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid all to win using our match result and both teams to score market for a potential return in excess of £200.
All the best, The William Hill Team

Shortly after Pep Guardiola was announced as the new Bayern boss last year, David Moyes was anointed as Fergie's successor. A year on, Pep has already won his first Bundesliga title with a record number of games to spare. Meanwhile, Moyes had to fend off flyover protests at the weekend with his side slumped in seventh.
All start as equal today but the prices suggest it won't stay that way for long. We'd be doubtful if United have ever been a bigger price than tonight's 6/1 to win at Old Trafford. Bayern are half the price (3/1) to win by at least three goals.
If you don't have Betfair Sportsbook or Coral accounts then both are offering 3/1 purely for a Bayern victory. Check above the grids for more details as well as other offers.
Elsewhere, La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid travel to the Nou Camp which looks increasingly like the venue for the title decider - Simeone's men play Barca here on the last day of the season. It's all about the Champions League tonight but neither will want to give their rivals any confidence boosters so expect a cagey affair. The last two meetings have ended 0-0 and it wouldn't be a shock if this one went the same way. Back no goalscorer at 12/1 to safeguard against own goals.

The Davis Cup quarter-finals take place this weekend, and favourites Switzerland are 1/41 to beat Kazakhstan in Geneva. Wawrinka was quoted last week that this is his no.1 goal this season, and everyone will be behind Federer to crown his career at home. With Serbia and Spain out the Swiss have the two top ranked players in the world, and solid doubles backup. GB or Italy await in the semis; it's some stretch to see them being stopped and with France or the Czechs likely final opponents we're getting on at odds-against. No other nation will have the same talent or desire and this has the look of a procession.
