Kimmy the Jack Russell dog this site is named after was rushed into the animal hospital yesterday afternoon after collapsing at her home. She was operated on straight away and her spleen was removed. There could be complications after the operation and further test are being carried out today. Animal lovers will appreciate how the owners and friends of the dog are feeling at this time.

Thanks BC.
As an animal lover yourself you know what its like. Thats why I would never have another pet. Breaks my heart when anything happens to them. Kimmy is owned by my son and his wife so we are very close to her.

Saw Kimmy yesterday. Very quiet as to be expected but ate all her dinner and had a steady walk round the garden.

The vet rang last night. The samples taken from Kimmy showed a low grade of cancer but at the moment nothing to be too concerned about. She finished the course of tablets today and has to go back o the vets next week for a check up. A strange thing is she appears to have gone very deaf since she came home. The vet says it shouldn't be the tablets but we shall have to see as their effects wear off.

Thanks Banger.
Appears to be improving slightly but now very deaf. The vet states the deafness could be old age but she was ok before the operation so more likely has been brought on by the stress of the operation.

Took her for a walk the other day. Don't think her hearing will ever be back to normal but I think she enjoyed the walk. A bit slower but thats only to be expected.

Walk a little plainer daddy Said a little boy so frail, I'm following your footsteps and I don't want to fail. Sometimes your steps are plain Sometimes they are hard to see, So walk a little plainer Daddy. For you are leading me."
I know that once you walked This way many years ago, What you did along the way I'd really like to know For sometimes when I'm tempted I don't know what to do So walk a little plainer, Daddy, For I must follow you.
