The sign-up process should be fairly simple. But if you're having a problem, here are a few things to check.
1. Your username must be one, single word.
You can change the display name later in your "Profile". That is why many of us have a one-word tag, all in lowercase, and why some clever-thingys have figured out they can change it, and capitalise the first letter. You know who you are. ;D
2. Your password must not be the same as your username.
3. You must try to figure out what those blinking funny letters say!!
They are to prevent spammers getting in. If you can't read those letters/numbers, you wouldn't be alone. Please let me know.
4. Agree!!
Last step is to scroll down to the bottom where you must "Agree" to the terms of use. By default, it is set to "Don't agree", which will again give you an error message.
If anyone has a problem registering, just let me know and I'll sort it out for you.

I have recently received an email from a member having problems registering. Having looked at the new registering format I can understand why. It is very complicated. I would like to point out I do not make the registration rules this forum is owned by www.proboards.com/They make the rules. Should you have a problem registering please email me with the username and password you want to use and I will try and sort things out for you. If I can't I know a man who can. If you register you should receive an email asking you to activate the account. You do not have to do this. You can still post it is only activated so you can receive emails from this site so don't worry about that. Once registered you can enter your profile and change things as to how you want them.

In General Settings in your admin area, you do have the option 'Disable Forced Activations'. Setting this option to 'yes' will enable members to use their account without first having to activate their account. The only difference between an activated, and an un-activated account is that un-activated accounts will not be sent mass emails, nor will they be sent notification emails (of new posts in topics they have bookmarked, and PMs). If you do disable the forced activations, members will still have the ability to activate their account, if they can, via the profile, where they will find an 'activate now' link.
As can be seen you can still post even if you don't activate your account.

If you are having problems registering please be patient and try again. I know it can be frustrating when you can't register I have had the same problem as you trying to register members. But as outlined above I don't make the registering rules.
