I ate another 6 and then gave Kim two thirds of the remaining. I now had 34 strawberries left. How many did I start with? 34 is 1/3 so 2/3 = 68 = 102 + 6 = 108 108 is 2/3 so 1/3 = 54 = 162 + 3 = 165 165 is 1/2 so 1/2 = 165 = 330 + 5 =335 335BC

335 strawberries. I started with 335. Ate 5 leaving 330, giving 165 away (leaving me with 165). I then ate another 3 leaving 162, and gave away 54 (leaving 108). I ate 6 more leaving 102, and gave away 68. This left me with 34.

Puzzle 216 At last week's Kimmys barbecue, four page 3 girls were tucking into their packed lunches. Jane had muffins but Denise didn't have orange juice. The girl who had blackcurrant juice also had scones and Jessica had blueberry juice. The girl who had cake also had strawberry juice, whereas Alice didn't have the strawberry juice nor toast. Can you work out who had which drink and which dessert? It was a great barbecue even though there were only 5 of us there. I wrote out your invitation and forgot to post it.

So I drew up a table Q--1--2--3--4A--B--C--D--D B--A--D--A--C C--D--B--C--A D--C--A--B--B The only unique answer sequence is: Q--1--2--3--4A--B--C--D-- DB--A--D-- A--C C--D-- B--C--A D-- C--A--B--B So, if this is what it wants... 1. The answer to Question 2 is: C. B2. The answer to Question 3 is: B. A3. The answer to Question 4 is: A. D4. The answer to Question 1 is: D. COr... If just question letters, then CBAD Or...
