KIEREN FALLON was back riding out for Sir Michael Stoute for the first time this spring when the Freemason Lodge team cantered on Warren Hill on Wednesday morning.
Fallon returned from a winter stay in Santa Anita at the weekend and took the leg up on the Highclere Thoroughbred Racing-owned Harbinger in a canter and then swapped over to ride the Danehill Dancer colt Imposing in another gentle spin.
Fallon had been in familiar mode earlier in the morning when he rode fast work on the Paul Howling-trained Twist Again in a spin on the Al Bahathri polytrack and had ridden work at the weekend for Gerard Butler.
Fallon said: "I am back riding work but I will only be riding on work mornings for Sir Michael.
"It won't be long before I'm 100 per cent fit and I have been riding work all winter. I have played a lot of squash and have been running and going out on a bike and I am as fit as I could be."

Alan Daly ended his 15-year riding career in the best way possible as he guided Desert Dreamer to success in the Newchapel Selling Stakes at Lingfield. Daly settled the Tom Dascombe inmate towards the rear for much of the seven-furlong contest, but was pulled wide to challenge at the top of the straight. The 2-1 favourite took a while to hit top gear before swooping late to score by a length and three-quarters from Obe Royal. The 34-year-old, riding the 203rd winner of his career in Britain, could not contain his excitement as he punched the air passing the post. "I'm high on life," said Daly. "To get a winner on my last ride like that, it feels like I've just won the lottery. "Tom Dascombe has done a fantastic job for me. "He's one of the up-and-coming young trainers of the game and said for a while he'd try and sort out a winner on my last ride." Daly is over the moon to have bowed out of the racing game on a high and was keen to praise the influence of his parents. "I must be one of the luckiest people alive. I've been in a fantastic job for 15 years and I've lived the dream," said the Marlborough-based Daly. "Many people come into this sport with hopes and dreams and ambitions, but few get the chance to live out the opportunity. "Thankfully, that has been the case with me and I'm just very proud to have lived the life I have. "I've grabbed every opportunity and harassed every trainer into giving me rides, but I wouldn't have swopped it for all the tea in China. "A big part of my career has been my parents, without their love and support I would not have achieved anything." Daly is now looking forward to taking his life into a new direction, with a career in the fire service very much on his radar. He had applied to become part of the Gloucester Fire and Rescue Service but as there were no positions available. Daly is now waiting to hear back from the Surrey Force, to whom he has recently sent an application. "I'm the sort of person that needs a challenge in life and hopefully I'll get the chance to give something back back to the people of Surrey, where I rode my biggest ever winner (Global Dancer in the Apprentice Derby at Epsom). "It's an incredibly exciting time and I cannot wait to start a new career."

Luca Cumani is hoping that the good weather continues as Swop continues his build-up to the William Hill Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday week. The six-year-old needs decent going to take his chance in the race after a successful trip to Dubai over the winter which culminated in a win at Nad Al Sheba in mid-February. "Swop has come back from Dubai in very good form and he worked well on Wednesday," Cumani said. "He seems to be in excellent form but as I have said before, he needs good or fast ground so I am hoping this current dry spell continues. "His campaign in Dubai was very good as it was nice and progressive culminating in a nice win. A mile is his very best trip." The Bedford House Stables handler also had news of two promising fillies for the new campaign - Fantasia and Spashdown - who both hold entries in the Stan James 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 3. "Fantasia seems to have progressed very well," Cumani revealed. "She is obviously not as far forward as Swop and has not really started any serious work yet - we have done what we loosely term half-speed. "She has done very well physically and seems very well mentally - everything seems to be in good order." Cumani also reflected on her final start of 2008 - a second in the Fillies' Mile at Ascot in Sepetember. "It was a shame that Rainbow View was around last year as I think that Fantasia would have won nine out of 10 Fillies' Miles," he said. "It just so happens that Rainbow View was exceptional last year." The vibes from the stable also seem to be positive at this early stage concerning Splashdown. "She has done very well too and she is at the same stage as Fantasia," Cumani added. "She would have to improve quite a bit on her two-year-old form to take a hand in a race like the Guineas whereas Fantasia has got the form in the book. "I think she has a mile and a quarter written all over her and it would be nice to think that she could even go a bit further."

GREAT LEIGHS racecourse could fall into the hands of its main creditor, the Royal Bank of Scotland, after administrators announced that two bids for the group of companies which own and operate track have proven unsuccessful.
Carlton Siddle, joint administrator and Deloitte Partner, said: "Unfortunately neither of the offers were able to demonstrate sufficient financial support for us to recommend acceptance to the creditors. We have confirmed in writing to the creditors that the two bids were inadequate and have been rejected."
The joint administrators also confirmed that they have entered into discussions with the Royal Bank of Scotland, the main creditor, to investigate whether, in light of the rejection of the two bids, it could take ownership of the course in conjunction with a suitable racing operator. As part of this process, racecourse operators have been asked to submit bids to run the course.
Siddle added: "Negotiations are at an early stage and we continue to liaise with the BHA regarding the relevant licensing requirements and application procedure that will be needed before racing can return to Great Leighs. We are aware of the forthcoming negotiations for 2010 fixtures and are fully focused on working to ensure that Great Leighs participates fully in this process."
Carlton Siddle and Nick Edwards of Deloitte, the business advisory firm, were appointed as joint administrators to the group of companies that own and operate the Great Leighs all weather horse racing complex in Chelmsford, Essex, on January 16.

CHRIS CATLIN, all-weather champion jockey elect, said he will be "over the moon" to retain his title after rival Jamie Spencer conceded him the crown.
Four wins behind, Spencer, who rides at only two more meetings before the all-weather season ends, on Wednesday admitted his task was mathematically improbable, leaving Catlin poised to collect the winners' cheque.
Catlin, in action at both Southwell and Kempton on Thursday while Spencer had the day off, said: "It's not over yet but if I do win it I will be over the moon. I was always going to stick around for the all-weather and ride as many horses as I could and if it happened that was brilliant. I've got lucky and I've rode a lot of winners and it looks like I'm near enough going to win it now.
"I didn't mind having a battle for the title. It made it more interesting. I had 72 winners last year and at the moment I am on 67. I'll be trying to beat that now before the season is over."

TWO people, including a registered owner, have been warned off indefinitely by the BHA for failing to cooperate with an investigation into possible corrupt betting.
Andrew Scott refused to speak to the the Integrity Services and Licensing Department who were keen to ask him about his heavy laying of Mia's Boy and The City Kid in 2007 - the latter horse via bets made on a computer also used by the horse's then owner Mandy Hall to access her Betfair account.
Hall had initially agreed to an interview with the BHA to answer questions over bets on her Betfair accounts in December 2007 but that was cancelled due to her reported illness.
The owner repeatedly turned down further requests for an interview.
Summing the case up on Friday, BHA spokesman Owen Byrne said: "The main thing is that they haven't cooperated and they are getting warned off because of it."

SCOOP6 fever may have abated slightly, following the record-breaking bonus finally being landed last weekend, but a six-figure sum would still beckon for a single winner this Saturday.
The win fund builds from £83,506, while there is £35,788 in the bonus kitty, and all six legs on Saturday afternoon are on Channel 4.
"Although the record-breaking bonus fund was won last Saturday, there's still plenty of money in the win pool, and punters up and down the country will be trying to solve the Scoop6 puzzle this weekend," said Totepool spokesman George Primarolo.
Scoop6 legs 2.20 Newbury, 2.35 Newbury, 2.50 Newbury, 3.05 Lingfield, 3.15 Haydock, 3.30 Newbury

JOCKEY George Baker is confident Premio Loco can land an all-weather hat-trick in the WinterDerby at Lingfield on Saturday, despite concerns the 1m2f trip may prove too far for the five-year-old. Premio Loco has won five of his six starts over 1m, while finishing unplaced on both his efforts above that trip. Lingfield specialist Baker though, believes he has a decent chance of victory on the Chris Wall-trained 2-1 shot. "He's the besthorse in the race and still progressing," he told the Morning Line. "I think if he'll get a mile and a quarter, Lingifeld will be the place to get it. He's got a burst of speed which is handy on Polytrack and being drawn a low number [stall 4] is a big advantage."

THE Scoop6 is on another rollover run after the bet once again eluded punters to leave more than £250,000 in its kitty.
Just three tickets were still alive going into Saturday's fifth leg, but Ela Re'a 16-1 Haydock success finished them off to create rollovers in both the win fund, which contains £184,240, and the bonus fund, which houses £78,960.
The latest place dividend paid £62.80 and was won 916 times.

BHA drug testers, believed to be acting on intelligence, have carried out a coordinated swoop on five Epsom stables, although officials refuse to say what banned substance they were looking to find.
Trainers Michael Atxxxxer, Jim Boyle, Roger Ingram, Brett Johnson and Roger Teal have not been given any explanation for being targeted in last Wednesday's operation.
